Ah, but it doesn't qualify for making a cruise from one US port to a different US port legal.  It has to be a DISTANT foreign port.  Ensenada is just a foreign port.  A distant foreign port is any port NOT "in North America, Central America, the Bermuda Islands, or the West Indies (including the Bahama Islands, but not including the Leeward Islands of the Netherlands Antilles, i.e., Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao"

Sorry, but you're wrong. The majority of round trip mainland-Hawaii cruises do use Ensenada as their foreign port.

You obviously are not familiar with MSC, who basically has a four tiered class system on their ships.  There is the MSC Yacht Club (First Class), Aurea (Second Class), Fantastica (Third Class) and Bella (Fourth Class)

I decided to go with an interior cabin. They have ones that have the same space as a balcony room without the balcony, so I chose one of those. I appreciate everyone's feedback. I am saving my money for doing other things on the islands and maybe booking another cruise! The Excel suites are a hard no for me. As expensive as they are and then to pay extra for a private lounge...no thanks. Seems weird the cruise lines want to ostracize the majority of their passengers by turning it into the very situation they are trying to escape (people with money not having to mingle with us regular folks lol). I think these Excel suites may backfire on Carnival.  They have nothing to do with passenger loyalty and everything to do with people who have money to waste (in my opinion) segregating themselves from other cruisers. Go rent a private yacht if that is how you feel! Anyway, just my opinion.

Money to waste??? Isn't that what you're doing, to a lesser extent??

many people don't have money for a toy bath tub boat let alone a cruise.

Please don't knock people that have the means.

I just think its too much and they limit you to 11 drinks in a day. my last cruise was 11 days with Celebrity Cruise line and I had drink package for $300.00 for 2 people (in the cabin) no limits on how many you could have in a day.

Sorry my friend but there is no way you got unlimited drinks for 11 days for $13.65 per person per day.

  6. Ive bought them. I was with my sister getting a major prescription filled during the hurricane when we couldnt get back into Galveston. They had antibiotics 1/3 the price of the touristy drug selling places.

There is a nice one across from the Carnival pier, can't miss the DRUGS sign. I bought 6 knock off purses in there too, lol. But I also told them my stomach is sensitive to penicillin and they sold me another one last time. I dont have health insurance, so I self medicate.

You don't have medical insurance but you can afford the many cruises you take?? Priorites..........

  7. Hi everyone. I've been reading through page after page of posts on these boards. Thanks for all the helpful info. One quick question... I'm cruising for the first time ever in about 24 days (yeah, I've got a countdown on my phone). I've pretty much decided on getting the classic beverage package. My question is: If I purchase the package while on the ship, does the last "day" on the ship count as a day that I must pay for the package? My ship gets back to FLL at 7am. Surely they wouldn't count that as a day and charge for the beverage package, right?

    No.....If it's a 7-day cruise, it's a 7-day package.

  8. I read this board with interest as I have sailed on Carnival twice, RC, Celebrity & Norweigen. I would love to said Disney, but with three kids, the price difference is substantial. Somewhere in the neighborhood of $3,000-$4,000. I would even said during off peak times while taking my kids out of school, but it's still a big difference in price. The one difference I have noted is that kids pay almost full rate, while other cruise lines charge about half for the kids. I guess I'll keep watching for a kids sail free promotion.

Half for kids???????? Show me where??????? Not true
