  1. When you book the Sanctuary, you choose a specific lounger and that's "yours" for the period of time booked.

A percentage of the number of loungers are for those booking the entire cruise. The rest are available either by the half-day or full day. It opens at 8AM and the morning half-day is 8AM-12:30PM. Afternoon half-day is 1PM-5PM. Full day is 8AM-5PM but you can stay later than 5PM; the attendants leave then. Current cost (except on the Royal) is $10/half-day, $20/day, $15/day if you book the entire cruise.

This is not a full suite perk.

Thanks for the info Pam. Can you book 1/2 day for the whole cruise or do you have to book the full day?

  2. I am so glad to know this!!!! We sailed from Seattle and it just killed me not to buy flowers at Pikes. I didn't want to chance it.

It's one of those things I only think of last minute when I see flowers and never even thought to ask on CC. Thanks!

  3. I can't say I am happy with losing the Promenade deck for walking/ running. The new track is going to be very crowded and with people walking side by side, it will almost be impossible to pass. I love to run on the promenade and it's great when there is only 3 1/3 times around for a mile. Running in a tight circle is not good for your legs.

  4. Today when I was paying the reciprocity fee for my husband and parents, I screwed up the my husbands date of birth. I entered June 7 instead of 17th. And there is no way of fixing it on line. I assume I am just going to have to go in and pay again to fix it.

Anybody with any experience with this problem?

Can we take a chance and if they don't like it pay again at the kiosks I heard were at the EZE airport?

Not the sharpest knife in the drawer after all the Christmas celebrations.....

  5. Nice to see they still have the Opus One on the list. On our last two cruises we went to the "higher" end wine tasting event and were offered a special to purchase a bottle of Opus and get a free dinner for two in any of the specialty restaurants as well as a refund of the $10pp to attend the wine tasting. Turned a $169 bottle of wine into a $100 bottle, which I will take again if offered. Wonderful stuff:)

I just got thinking about something.... isn't the Premium wine tasting $25PP? I think the 'regular' wine tasting is $10. So maybe they just refunded $10pp with the wine purchase?

Do you know if they have this deal on the Crown?

I just saw this after I posted. If this offer is on the Crown we will definitely partake!

  7. Opus One.. $169

If this is the price for a full bottle this is a deal. We did a tasting of this in Vines on the Ruby and it was about $40. I'm thinking this has to be a 1/2 bottle or a very bad year! Currently if we want to buy this wine in Toronto there are two prices, $189(2005) and $339.

We first had tasted this wine in a Premium wine tasting on the Tahitian Princess in 2003. The ship had a special for a bottle to take home for $99 (regular price at that time was $150). Since it was our honeymoon we dicided to get one. I can't remember the vintage but it was around 1997. We kept that bottle until about 2 years ago. By the time we drank it it was worth over $300.

Since we had moved a few times during the time we had the bottle, we had no idea if it was still any good as it was never stored properly while we were doing renovations. It turned out to be spectacular. The most interesting tasting wine I have ever had.

So, when we saw it on the menu in Vines, we decided to taste it again to see if it was better than ours. It was from a newer vintage and although it was good, it was nearly a good as our old, poorly stored bottle.

We now have a proper wine fridge so if this is the price for a full bottle we might just pick one up!

  8. :) I just booked it. We are going to give the Mystery Dinner Theater a shot. I think it sounds like a blast and I stuff that is cheesy.

I gather from this comment that the MM is something you can bood before going on the ship? I think I remeber seeing it a RCI web site but couldn't seem to find out any details on it. I did one years ago in toronto and it was great. Never did figure out 'who dunne it!'
