  1. I am going on the Summit 1st week of September and chose the Classic drink package. Will that allow me to have bottled water when we leave the ship?

You can indeed. We also pick a bottle up from the bar as we retire for the night, sometimes we drink it, sometimes we keep it in the mini-fridge until morning and take it off ship.

  2. We have chosen lots of OBC, rather than classic alcohol package, for our cruise. I am considering whether to purchase a package on board. My wife, due to health reasons, cannot drink alcohol. Am I able to purchase the package for myself only or, if not, can I go with it and get her the non-alcoholic one or do we both need to purchase identical packages?

You don't have to both book the same package

You both don't have to have a package either.

  3. My son preferred celebrity over RCCI - he says he 'just got on better' with the others he met. As they get older I think it's more important that they enjoy chilling out together than partaking of organised activities, I just encouraged him to go initially to the welcome sessions then he just picked out the events he wanted to join in with - pool parties, discos, free arcade etc. Otherwise he sat around the pool with his new friends, lunched in the buffet, watched films together etc.

With there being fewer U18s they seemed to generate a better bond, he's still in regular contact with several 18 months later.

  4. Yes, you can link all the reservations, but please don't rely on that to actually work.

I agree, last year my teenage son was on a different table from us!!!! We told the maitre'd on arrival and he was able to change it after the first night

  5. We have done the Med with both Royal and Celebrity. On RCI my kids have been 12, 15, and 17, on Celeb 15. While there seemed more activities on RCI they were quite repetitive, I've just asked my son and he says 'Celebrity, no brainer, it's all about who you meet, not what you do'!

  6. Speaking of which, does anyone know what the ship does with lost and found at the end of a cruise? In the case of a valuable item, I could see them being proactive in trying to track down the owners, but what do they do with the hundreds of personal items that get turned in that have little monetary value?

I was surprised a few weeks after a cruise with RCI when I received in the post an envelope containing my sons wallet with a compliment slip. It only contained his sea pass card, he 'lost' it a few days before the end of the trip, we assumed it must have slipped under the bed. I certainly wasn't expecting to see the wallet again but the steward must of forwarded it.

  7. I've never heard of Perry, but surely if he isn't to your taste and he was on the same sailing as you, you would just drink in a different bar for the evening???

Or is that just using some common sense. Why make such a big issue out if it by insulting the man?
