I don't remember seeing any railing in the hallways on the American Symphony. It's probably not needed, but what happens when we get in the Gulf? I'd really need the railing to remain upright.

Other than our usual post night, we spent only one night in Chattanooga and visited the US Space and Rocket Museum on the long bus ride between Florence and Chattanooga. They also offered an evening dinner cruise. Exhausted from the uncomfortable bus ride we opted out. We heard a lot of passengers opted out of the cruise.

Slightly different topic. If you're getting on the Symphony in Chattanooga, would you look up the US Air and Space Museum activity level? We were very tired afterward, and DH fell down. I'm still slathering him with Arnica gel. And DH and I missed the dinner cruise. They had a lot of ramps, so I'm thinking it was the distance. Would have been wonderful if we weren't so tired.

Thanks for the information. I wondered if some of the smaller ships that docked in Iceland were Silversea.
-
I'm considering them, since they're now giving reciprocal loyalty, and we're Diamond + on Royal Caribbean. Now long does it take to get the loyalty rating? What about tender ports? I couldn't find any ports that said they were tender ports. When did Silversea partner with Royal Caribbean? Do we simply send in our Crown and Anchor numbers?
-
Do you mean medical staff? We've never received an upgrade, even though we're Diamond Plus and Four Star on two cruise lines. We skipped over the balconies and moved into the suites too fast.
-
Do they keep a supply of medication for non-emergency cases?
-
How do they handle it if you need to visit medical? I hear it's first aid only. Are they limited to bandaids? I couldn't find medical on their deck plans. If you need something more, how do they facilitate getting you to a doctor? Ship's medical has done great on Holland American. They even got me meds for Covid! We saw a man with a cane on Celebrity that looked really bad, then he disappeared and came back at the next day. He had gotten rid of his cane! I should have asked more.

Thanks. I was able to check in 12 days prior to embarkation.

I spoke w/ customer service and they said the portal was down, and to try again in 2-3 days.
-
I called them yesterday, and after attempting to log in themselves, they told me it was too early due to the pre-night. Tried Chrome, Firefox and Edge.
-
Weird, they said I'm more than 14-days out because of the pre-cruise stay. I also get my luggage tags at the hotel.
-
I'm using firefox; which is better? Chrome or Edge? I'm on the phone, and they're also having trouble.
-
Is the check-in section on the website down? I've tried to check-in all morning, and it keeps locking up.

Like most ocean cruises, aren't we supposed to keep our carry-ons with us? -
Questions to help with planning and booking a cruise

We're flying in the day before and staying near the airport. The reservation wasn't available for an additional night at the Gaylord. With hotel stays via Holland America, the front desk gives us a letter when we check in. -
Questions to help with planning and booking a cruise

Our cruise is also starting the end of April (Symphony). Do they check our names off on paper? Or do they use a device? On the Radiance of the Seas, they had us meet outside Chops Grille and the device glitched. We kept getting messages to report to make up drill, and they somehow didn't our names down then. -

Looking at the "daily ship to shore" docs, they mentioned a egress drill. Where do we meet? I didn't see any lifeboats. -

Thanks for the daily bulletin. For disembarkation, I take it we're only to leave our big bags outside our room? We're on that cruise that disembarks in Florence a day early and take the bus to Chattanooga. I'll have plenty of time to ask around, but we don't like want our medicine to leave our possession. -
I know trips and gratuity are supposed to be included, but what about tipping for room service, bar drinks, etc? Do I need to get a stack of $1s and $5s?

Good to know. We'd just about decided that poor flights were a deal breaker. Flying back from Spokane all the way to DFW and back to West Texas may still be one. DH has already said no to the Juneau cruises, because it's too much flying.
-
KACruise, we always book a post night. We haven't been on a riverboat cruise. Next month will be our first. But on our first cruise to the Bahamas, we returned to the disembarkation port late, and didn't get to the airport until 8 pm. Fortunately, Royal Caribbean arranged a hotel stay and re-booked our flights. So, these days, we always book a post-night. Disembarking ships from Royal Caribbean, etc takes hours.
-
Thank you! Will American Cruise lines arrange a shuttle to take us to Spokane. We had to take a shuttle from Merced to SFO when we flew home after we totaled our car.

Where's the closest airport to Clarkston, WA? I've searched after search on American Airlines, and Kayak and come up empty. Thanks in advance.
