  1. Two years, or three years. Still, thanks so much for providing a great place to start each day. And occasionally visit later in the day. Thanks to you, Rich, Roy, the drink and recipe ladies, and ALL of you who respond so positively every day. It IS appreciated very much. Charles
  2. I'm so sorry Roy. As others have said, I've read you daily posts from your cruises for years. Hopefully, they will up with a solution to your needs and result in a complete recovery. Charles
  3. I am sorry to hear this. She was also very active for many years on another cruise board. Charles
  4. Happy and Healthy New Year to Rich, Roy, and all the folks here who post and send pictures. This daily thread certainly brightens my day. Thanks. Best of health and healing to all. Charles
  5. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to all here who make my days so pleasant. Thanks! Charles
  6. The PE cam isn't working. But the Pier 66 hotel cam still does. And it has been focussing on the cruise ships that have been in the port (Celebrity Edge, etc.). If the HAL ship is at pier 2, then that should make it on the Pier 66 cam, Charles
  7. Thank you Rich and Roy for keeping this going every day. It's allot of work. And WE ALL appreciate it so much. And Thanks to ALL of the folks who contribute often. You make this the best thread on CC every day. Charles
  8. Thank you Rich, Roy, and all who contribute to this wonderful thread. It is the highlight of each morning. Thanks All. Happy Thanksgiving! Charles
  9. Once again, thanks to ALL of you for your posts and pictures. This is how I start my day, every day. It is a great way to make you feel good. Thanks Charles
  10. I too read these posts every day. Thank you Rich and Roy for all the work needed to post these. And thank everyone else for your wonderful pictures and positive comments. Charles
  11. Someone posted pages ago that they were going on vacation right after he retired. That comment was made before they had to repatriate the crew members. I thought the person said to Tahiti, or some similar place. Now a day or two after he left the Amsterdam, there was a picture posted on his Instagram account of him relaxing on what looks like an airplane. So, I don't know. I too would love to hear from him telling us what his last several weeks were like on the ship and his safe arrival home (or, on vacation). Charles
  12. Not quite Voyage of the Vikings, but several years ago we did a Princess cruise that left from NYC. It had port stops in Halifax, St. John's Labrador, three in Greenland, four in Iceland, the Shetland Islands, Edinburgh, and ending in Dover, England. It was a small ship, one of the Renaissance R class ships, and had entertainment similar to what the smaller HAL ships have. We totally enjoyed this cruise. The ports were interesting--especially in Greenland, Iceland, and the Shetlands--and for the second time we saw the military tattoo in Edinburgh. Charle
  13. Roy, I am glad you made it home. Condolences on not being able to complete your world cruise(s) for the second time. THANK YOU so much for taking the time to post your daily logs. They are the highlight of my day. Charles
  14. Hi, I've enjoyed reading your blogs here and on your inside cabin. I have a question: From my reading over the years, I know you served in the US Navy. But I don't recognize the medals you wear on your tux on "gala" nights. You are not wearing a uniform. So, what are the medals you proudly wear on your tux jacket? (As you can guess, I have no military background.) Thanks in advance for your response. Charles
  15. We did east to west several years ago. We saw Antarctica before going up the west coast of South America. We thought the Chilean fjords and glaciers were rather blasé compared to what we left several days earlier in Antarctica. I'd suggest going west to east. Charles
