  1. Thanks for this great review. I’ve been looking at YC for a while now as X and AZ seem to have Really increased their prices. We usually do suites with everything included but some prices quoted for next year are ridiculous. I think MSC Yacht Club ticks all our boxes - own pool area and dedicated restaurant with drinks included. Can you expand a little on food - was it up to AZ and X suite standard and was the wine drinkable? Any information greatly appreciated. Thanks. [emoji3]

  2. We have used Eurolimo twice when visiting Sorrento, Positano, Vesuvius etc and they were excellent. Collected us from Naples airport in new Mercedes cars. Arranged tours to Pompeii then wine tasting at Mount Vesuvius. Cannot recommend highly enough. Look at their reviews on TripAdvisor. Naples is frenetic so it pays to book in advance!

  3. Doing the Tokyo cruise in September 2019 on Millennium in a Sky Suite so this sounds very promising!! Think Suites are getting their own area like MSC yacht club if I’m not mistaken?? About time the Millennium class got revitalised as they were looking a tad tired in areas.

  4. Sorry, not been on line for a while as not been too well.

Regarding the booking, we fly to Dublin from our local airport and board there. It’s great because you go through security and immigration before boarding and then don’t have to do it when you land in the US (it’s like arriving on a domestic flight). The business flights are so much cheaper than flying directly from the U.K. ;).

    Hope you are well?

    Hi Jenny,

I’ve only just seen your response so apologies - I usually get an email telling me! That’s great - never thought of Dublin. Hope you’re feeling better now and have a great cruise this summer - that cruise is on my hit list one day. You’ll have to do a review of Princess as Celebrity are now getting really expensive so we’re looking at alternative cruise lines. Take care. Gaynor xx

  5. Booked with no problem. Also the prices dropped considerably this week, so got an even better deal on the business seats. Additionally, it allowed us to prebook our BA flight seats - at a price of course  (rest of flights are on AA which is the site we used to book the trip).

Still find it strange that maximum number of passengers you can book for on one reservation are different dependent on country ?

Hi Jenny, can you let me know how you did this as I am currently looking at flights to Miami for Christmas this year. We were looking at Virgin but their Upper is ridiculously priced but BA /American look far better but it would be great if I could shave a few more quid off -prices are fluctuating like mad. Hope you and the family are all OK!

  6. Ya, perhaps I shouldn’t have said anything! Lol. To be fair, on some sailings it’s quiet and on others it’s busy. When Journey and Quest did their tandem sail out of Barcelona I stood up there and I was all by myself. It was really great. Here:

Happy memories of being on Azamara - great video! We’re doing the Cuban/Caribbean cruise this Christmas on Journey and it can’t come soon enough - need some sunshine as it’s Baltic outside ❄️❄️❄️

  7. Yes Bonnie. It's as I thought. Use of the terrace at the front isn’t specified in the list. They need to mention it. It’s a nice benefit.

It’s a fantastic benefit and hardly used. Hubby and I sat in the hot tub on our own at sail away and it was just wonderful!

  8. Happy New Year Jenny!! Strangely enough I was looking East and also the Epic by Kimpton. I’m keeping my eye on prices too. Just waiting for flight gets to open on all the airlines - BA has a sale on but I’d prefer to fly across the pond than go via Heathrow as it can be a nightmare at Chrimbo. Hope you’re all well. Take care [emoji16]

  9. We were on the Quest last September and we saw a very drunk woman staggering through the main dining room and ended up in the kitchens and had to be escorted out and taken to the ladies loo. In fact on one evening, we saw a member of staff escorting anther woman back to her cabin and we were staggered that he managed to keep her upright. Also Many many moons ago, we were on the Jewel of the Seas where a passenger managed to deficate on the dance floor. Have never really gotten over that and we did feel for the poor individual having to clear it up. Disgraceful.

  10. Hi there, I’m currently on this cruise with you and can echo most of your comments. We are in a corner aft suite and it’s beautiful. Yep there is a little bit of wear and tear here and there. The attendant is wonderful and can’t do enough for us and we are very low maintenance compared to some I’ve bumped into in Michaels Club [emoji6][emoji6]. Service in Luminae is superb as is the food. Did murano and still prefer Luminae. Service around the ship is hit and miss. Don’t go near the Martini Bar - stayed in the ensemble lounge to hear the jazz which was fab and service too. Won a few times in the casino at the beginning of the cruise but then our luck started to run out so swerved it the last few nights. Nice to see a Tiffany shop on board but didn’t buy anything just looked! In all, the itinerary has been wonderful, capt Tassos is one of the best captains I’ve encountered with a wicked sense of humour! Have booked 3 more cruises [emoji568] n board so get the great package deal, one with Azamara which is a totally different experience altogether. Loved the Solstice - wish the weather had been a little less bumpy and rainyvacross the Tasman but hey it could be worse! Sad to go home but need to work to pay for the cruises[emoji30][emoji30] Happy New Year!

  11. Cruise lines only have to inform the CDC if the ship visits US ports that’s why any outbreaks in Europe are not reported unless they visit a US port (it explains this on the CDC link). So the list doesn’t contain every outbreak. From the link:

‘When sailing from a foreign port to a U.S. port, cruise ships participating in the Vessel Sanitation Program (VSP) are required to report the total number of gastrointestinal (GI) illness cases–including zero–evaluated by the medical staff at least 24 hours before the ship arrives at the U.S. port.’

I did post on the other thread concerning this outbreak that Equinox was in the same position a few years ago whilst in Europe ;). Lasted months.

Hi Jenny, I was on the Equinox around the Med in July 2015 with hubby and our daughter and thankfully we never caught the bug. Lots of people did get very sick.but we did adhere to all the usual hand washing, hand sanitizing, not touching handrails/elevator buttons, and using a paper towel to open toilet doors etc. We never went to the buffet, always ensured we were served and this really does help. I've just bought several bottles of Germstar hand spray and hope it works - was very reliable for our Asia cruise last Christmas! Can't believe it's nearly 12 months since we were on that cruise. Had such a great time. Hope you all have a fab time this year! :p

  12. Thanks for your constructive criticism there DON! P & O and Princess provide kettles for tea and coffee making facilities which is nice for guests who have mobility issues and maybe aren’t keen on making a long walk to the restaurant for their first morning cuppa. I can’t see a problem with that.
