  1. My sister and I are sailing together in the same cabin on the Majesty in November. She is a Diamond member; I am Platinum. I know that the Diamond and above folks are accommodated in the front part of the VCL from 4:30-8. Even though I am not a Diamond member, will I be able to go there with her since we are cabinmates? I do have the drinks package, but I don't know if that would make a difference. Thank you.
  2. I really appreciate your excellent photos and reports of your experiences on the Majesty. I was concerned that she would just be an old "tub", but she looks to be in really fine shape. 79 days and I'll get to see her first-hand. Thanks for bringing us along, and safe journeys wherever you may roam.
  3. Enjoying the great photos and commentary. We will sail in the Majesty on 11 November.
  4. I would love a late night Junkanoo party and fireworks! Wish they offered this on the Majesty sailings.
  5. Thanks for the review. We'll be onboard for the 11-16 November cruise.
  6. I don't know what insurance policy you have for your cancel for any reason coverage, but most policies will reimburse only 75% of payments made under this. Be sure to read the terms of your cancel for any reason policy very closely.
  7. Whew! That's a bit of a relief, BlueHerons. I got a really great rate on it. Do you have an idea of costs of taxi from the airport and then from the hotel to Port Everglades.
  8. Two weeks ago, $47. Today, $59. Five days on the Majesty in November 2019 Glad we purchased at 47.
  9. I think it says that training and skilled oversight has been lacking. Other ships are subject to the same standards and were on track with these items. I hope that the cruise line will scrupulously monitor this to make sure that problems are resolved over the long term. I also hope that the ship's work culture is such that when someone, anyone, notices something amiss, they know that their feedback will be received gratefully as something helpful and that action will be taken. This will encourage the entire team to be a part of an enduring resolution.
  10. I had read that the Carnival Fantasy got one of the lowest scores ever...a 77! I am sailing on the Majesty in November, so I looked it up. It received an overall CDC score of 82 when it was inspected for food and sanitation in early July of this year. Anything under 85 is very substandard. The other RCI ships were fine. The Brillance even got a perfect 100. Now, I am skeeved out about the Majesty. The report is available on line and it was pretty sickening. Basic sanitation and food storage practices look to have been teribly neglected. . I hope to heaven that it is addressed promptly and completely before our cruise. Egads!
  11. Thank you ! Your comments are very helpful, mysparky.
