Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I like breakfast delivered. I tip $5.
  2. I agree with you. I was on a Princess cruise last month and loved the convince of the app and medallion. I'm a boomer and love any tech I can get. While on the QM2 in 2022 I was so frustrated with the slow internet and internal app.
  3. Hi, Just booked the cruise to Hawaii from San Francisco in December. We have cruised Royal and Cunard before, so we do have a clue--but not about what to pack for crossing the Pacific in December. We will have a balcony cabin. Any suggestions about clothes or something specific we should know about the Crown Princess? Thank you.
  4. If you are going to the spa and don't plan to change there, wear a coverup. You will be walking through many common areas of the ship.
  5. In July for our TA from NYC we arrived an hour past our scheduled time. We sailed right through. No wait.
  6. I was there in July for a TA. You could get a variety of passes for two-hour slots. The employees there were a little lax about getting water cups out and towels. You may want to bring your own water.
  7. As a first timer on Cunard and a first TA, I was pleased overall. Embarkation in Brooklyn was easy. We were to board at 1:30 pm and got there at 2:30 pm and sailed right through. You must be prepared. Our cabin was as we expected — nice. We saw on our balcony rust spots being treated. Our luggage arrived quickly. We like room service breakfast and that was great. Our cabin steward understood our late morning departure routine. The Veranda was the best dining. At Sir Samuels, Godiva hot chocolate is to die for. However, I was unimpressed with the spa. It is a bit dated and the attendants didn’t get water, towels, etc. in a timely manner. I saw one attendant using her phone in the area near the loo. She was shocked I found her like that. I would do this again. A great part is we are in London not suffering jet lag. Wish we could cruise home back to the US and not fly next week.
  8. Checked in around 2:45pm and it was smooth. This is so awesome. Thanks for all the help!
  9. Thanks BklynBoy8. Our first Cunard and TA will be July 8, and I booked a Britannia Club balcony room because of the flexibility in dining. We will have to get a Flambes. So excited and hoping we don't test positive Wednesday afternoon!
  10. Thanks everyone. No one has sent any email. I plowed through this myself without the help of my travel agent. Usually I book my own air, but this time I went with Cunard because of Covid implications and adding travel insurance with Cunard. It seems when you book with a third party, you are on your own. No one gave me any guidance even after everything was paid. My travel agent will be hearing from me regarding better protocols for helping her clients. If I had not been proactive, I would have not had any selected seats--let alone confirmations. But the Cunard site is still showing me that unhelpful data that I posted above. Still excited to try Cunard and do a TA!
  11. Is it me, or is Cunard's website a problem? I have used two different, updated browsers on my laptop, and I can't see my flights. I called Cunard. Waited 30 minutes, got a person, then that person routed me to the air folks, waited again. She confirmed my air and let me get seats on all flights. She was great. Took almost a hour and a half on hold. I had paid all this off in March! See below what I still keep seeing in my account. By the way, the QM2 Facebook admin rejected this post.
  12. First time on Cunard. We sail July 8. I get into my flight info on the site. Nothing about getting seats. I used the code Cunard provides to check the flights with the airlines. The code is useless. Is this typical? I want to select my seats. Thank you
  13. Thanks to everyone for their advice. I have emailed all the car services. Now I'm wondering about covid testing before we leave. So many details! But we are so excited.
  14. Hello. We have booked a TA for July from NYC to S. Hampton. We are excited and staying positive but cautious about the Covid situation. I have read the website about attire, dining, etc. We have a balcony Britannia Club stateroom. 1. What do you wish you would have known before doing a TA or sailing on Cunard? 2. On the Atlantic in July being outside: Do I need a jacket? Is the pool open? 3. Can anyone recommend a private car service to get to London? Thanks! Kelly M.
