Yes, but only when they are listed as a Grand Voyage or some other name like that. Did a TA Miami to Barcelona and Barcelona to Rome in March this year and it was listed on the website as a single cruise but was actually the two mentioned B2B. The savings when comparing the individual bookings to the combined was about $2k pp.

I'm in the process of organizing a cruise with several family members. One couple has a child under 18 and will be sharing a cabin with her parents. Does SS usually discount a 3rd person (child) from the pp fare?

Just an FYI regarding the comment about Google maps above. If you know what cities you will be in, open the city map while you are still at home and save it to offline maps. You can then use it without any cell or wifi signal in total airplane mode. Google maps offline only uses GPS signal and that's free.

We have Consumer Cellular also. In case you are not aware, You must contact CC to activate international calling. Give them an activation date and end date. Their international calling rates are reasonable for brief "Hi I got here safe and am having a great time" types of calls. We have had no issues using for airplane mode, wifi calls.

We are scheduled to depart REYKJAVIK to KANGERLUSSUAQ on August 1, 2024 on Silver Wind. In looking at the SS website today, I notice that the previous cruise (LONGYEARBYEN TO REYKJAVIK) is scheduled to arrive July 26, 2024. What is going on with Silver Wind between July 26th afternoon and August 1st morning? Seems strange to me. Any ideas?

According to the benefit description, it says "unlimited" but excludes dry cleaning services. We too are looking forward to this benefit on our upcoming cruise.

I have a couple of Loyalty program questions that I haven't been able to find answers. For pre/post SS hotels, will SS link your hotel loyalty number to your booking if you provide the number to your SS representative? Example: I have a SS cruise coming up disembarking in late July. The pre-cruise SS hotel is a Hilton property. I have significant Hilton status and would like to receive the benefits if possible. Not sure if Hilton honors the benefits for contract bookings and if they do, will SS arrange linkage to account or can I provide account number when checking in. With my new found VS loyalty match status, I am eligible for the 5% future cruise booking discount. I am currently coordinating a family cruise with SS and will be booking 4 or 5 cabins. My SS representative told me prior to gaining VS status that we will receive a discount/OBC for booking three or more cabins or one free passenger fare if booking 5 cabins. Am I correct in assuming that I can only receive the 5% discount for my cabin, or can it be applied to all cabins I book? Thanks for any insight

This reply from SS is incorrect. I have no SS days, but now have status through the match program and have a VS number, etc. My welcome email also indicates that I have the benefits. To say you have to sail with them before the benefits take effect makes no sense if RCI is trying to migrate RCL or X passengers to SS. There would no immediate benefit to them. It took a while for SS to catch up with my match request. I'm sure it will be coming.

They must have run a batch update. I now have a number as well

After I signed up through the Celebrity App, a day or so later I checked on the My Silversea website, Venetian Society page, then Loyalty Status in the menu on the left. The following showed: It shows the correct 100VS Days, but no number yet. I read somewhere that it can take up to 7 days (assume business days) to process the Venetian Society enrollment, so I am guessing a number will appear in a few days, along with a welcome email

My loyalty page now shows VS Loyalty Match Days, but no number. I feel that as long as the appropriate days show, we are golden.

I did the linkage earlier today on the Celebrity app. I have assumed, possibly incorrectly, that the actual enrolment also includes the following from the SS website, which I plan to do tomorrow: 1.2. Conditions of Enrollment. 1.2.a. Enrollment. All eligible guests will be enrolled in the Loyalty Program upon completion of their first Voyage. To enroll prior to completing a Voyage contact 1-888-978-4070 if calling from the U.S. or Canada, or your local Silversea office, if outside the U.S. or Canada.

Thanks, installed app and it worked like a charm!

I must be missing something. When I go to celebrity, click on my points, it shows my Celebrity and RCL status, but I don't find anywhere on the screen to link to Silversea. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It also does not acknowledge Silversea on their status match info page.

If you have a qualifying status (RCL Platinum), will the benefit transfer be applied to a first Silversea cruise? The Platinum status should the equivalent of 100+ SS days. We will be on our first SS cruise the end of July and wondering if we will get comp laundry. I've read the T&C but still am not sure.

When we docked in 2019, it was about 100 yards from the photography museum (google it for map location), no terminal, just pop up tents. Very close to old town. Shuttles available and water hop on hop off stop at photography museum.

From my observations preparing for our Wind cruise in late July/early August later this year, the cost of boot rental went up in the last few months from $90 to $99. If you have the luggage space or a trash suitcase, you can get the same Bogs boots (I traded emails with Ship to Shore and that's the brand they rent) from Amazon for less than that. Even if you leave them on the ship due to luggage restrictions on the charter flight back, you are better off. Also, you know they will fit. Just a thought.

On our recent TA, Ft. Lauderdale-Barcelona-Rome, we had the opportunity to have a "Provisioning" tour. We were taken through the stores areas (definitely not passenger areas on decks below A), dry, fresh cooled, frozen, prep, etc. There was even a special chilled area for flowers and arrangements. Conducted by a combination of the Hotel Manager and the Provisioning Manager. Spoke to details of logistics of getting supplied to the ship, where the various commodities came from, etc. It was very interesting to see how the stores are handled and thawed for the kitchens. We did not go to the more mundane stores like toilet paper, etc. but would have liked to have seen that as well. Also did a bridge tour that was conducted personally by the Captain. It was extensive and lasted about an hour and a quarter or more. After a detailed tour of the bridge proper, he took us into his "situation room" where we gathered around a large conference table with work stations. He was at the head of the table with a podium touch screen. He proceeded to walk us through various emergencies that his screen was displayed on a huge flat screen opposite of him. He showed how he could drill down to an individual cabin and monitor the temperature, temperature trends, humidity in any individual cabin along with pulling up live video from anywhere on the ship. He was very engaging with us and entertained any and all questions. Very informative! One thing I found interesting and made perfect sense, in the case of fire in an area, the area is sealed off in the corridors and the pax are evacuated to a clear area via the verandas by opening the partitions and moving the pax down until they can exit through a cabin in a clear area. He also got into some very interesting discussion of how decisions were made for fresh water on board (generate at sea vs. taking on potable water in port) and many other topics.

I assume Octantis is identical to Polaris which I sailed in 2023. The smoking area is very nice. It is located on deck 6 starboard aft. It has nice seating and is covered and has good wind protection from forward, aft and starboard sides. I sailed in summer on the Great Lakes, so heat was not an issue, but I seem to recall a radiant heater mounted on the bulkhead above the seating area. It is far nicer than the smoking areas on the Ocean ships, especially the older ships. Sorry, I don't have a photo.

Thanks, I am aware of Flybus and was planning to use them if I can't get SS transfer. My question still remains, can I expect to be able to obtain a SS transfer under my circumstances. This is an expedition cruise so there are only limited ways to use OBC (La Dame, laundry, spa, boutique, etc.) I have $1200 in OBC and would like to use it all. Edit, we have been to KEF before and are aware of its location, etc.

I have a D2D cruise coming up and have my own air and therefore do not get the airport to hotel transfer included. My flight gets in at a time Silversea will be greeting passengers with included transfers. Will it be possible to purchase the transfer at the airport on arrival? I have a "boatload" of OBC and this would be an ideal way to use some of it. The flight is into KEF and private transfers to the city can be pricey.

Just back from TA Ft. Lauderdale to Rome on Mars. I met several couples on their first trip to Europe and didn't realize that many/most places that you want to use plastic require a PIN. They had never heard of a credit card having a pin and were having significant inconveniences on shore. Make sure you know your PIN or set up a PIN for any cards you plan to use in Europe.

More complex answer, sort of. There is a heavy felt tote in the cabin that various Viking magazines are in. It is not complementary and stays with the cabin. It can be used while on board. We frequently use ours to take clothes to and from the laundry. If you do take it, you will be charged for it. The price is shown on the price list for items in the cabin if you take them.
