Bar Harbor bans cruise ships for the rest of the year
declansdad replied to CruiserFromMaine's topic in Canada/New England
Pretty much every cruise for this season into that area has been cancelled, this isn't that big of a deal. -
Cruise ships are banned in Canadian ports until October 31st.

Carnival to sell at least 6 ships
declansdad replied to soloadventurer's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Nowhere has Carnival said they were selling the Fantasy Class ships. The article is poorly written and as a result people think it is the Fantasy Class. Carnival had announced last fall that at least 5 Costa ships were being sold by 2021, this is just an acceleration of that. The discussion around the Fantasy Class ships showed while they are the oldest and smallest ships in the Carnival line's fleet, they are very popular. -

Mardi Gras or NCL Breakaway May 2021?????
declansdad replied to etravel's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Amongst other issues, NCL has terrible customer service, it would be the Mardi Gras hands down for me. -
They have an itinerary posted on their website.

Hello All. My wife and I are considering a cruise on 2022 on the Rhapsody of the Seas out of Tampa. We have cruised two ship similar in size, the Carnival Paradise and the Norweigan Dawn. On the Dawn we found there was very little to do, the Paradise had a number of activities and places you could hang out at night. What is the Rhapsody of the Seas like? We don't take part in a lot of activities but we like to have the option. In the evenings, is there places you can hang out like a piano bar, comedy shows or just a quiet bar area? Any advice would be helpful.

You do realize that many lines, including Princess, are owned by Carnival right?
-
Exactly how were they slow to respond? If you read their release they have only asked the governments pay the essential costs of the ship's operation while in port.
-
They have and why wouldn't they?

Stores do both around here. It sure would be a mess. The first time my inlaws cruised they were served the whole lobster and the wait staff said they would be back shortly to help everyone. A table full of Maritimers needed no help in eating lobster and had it taken care of by the time the wait staff came back to help.
