  1. I'd say on par. However the O specialty restaurants are included while the AZ are not. The free visits are determined by the number of days and category booked. Concierge and above get more.
  2. Cash is King only if you want to erode your future buying power. It may protect the principal but inflation will erode the future dollar value.
  3. Yes but there are caveats. Half your cruises have to be on AZ when you reach the new plateau. Also the cost for the cruise nights can't be on promotion. So for three of the seven nights you're paying rack rate, I believe. It's worse for a longer cruise and may not be a valuable perk. But the real good thing is the Celebrity Captains Club points you receive for the level of cabin on AZ.. That way if things improve to your liking at Celebrity, you've been gaining while cruising AZ. Not to mention AZ 's service, quality and persona is a level above Celebrity IMO.
  4. But look at the Azamara Le Club program since you co earn on both Celebrity and Azamara simultaneously. https://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=2466 Celebrity Elite = Le Club Discoverer.
  5. Or Celebrity started raising rates as soon as they decided they were GOING to switch to AI so that the pricing increase wouldn't be as obvious? Couple that with the cancelled sailings demand and couldn't that be the explanation for doubling of many fares for the same ship, cabin category and days?
  6. I suspect she's itching to sail again. Hopefully she'll transfer to Apex in 2022. I'd love to sail with her again. It's been too many years. Besides, isn't Celebrity going to have get the ships ready under the new guidelines and do those test sailing with volunteers before starting back with the paid cruises?
  7. So if you don't shower do you want a discount for the toiletries? Me thinks your examples are a bit overboard. Next time, if someone believes all that, they should book a rowboat and really save. 😁
  8. That's irrelevant to Celebrity. We were booked on the Mercury when they decided to transfer it to TUI. Our cruise was cancelled and we were forced to take an earlier Mercury cruise with minimal OBC for the inconvenience. Instead of sailing out of Charleston where we lived, we had to drive to Baltimore for Mercury's final sailing under Celebrity's flag.
  9. I don't believe that Celebrity's "Always Included" program is an attempt to be like Azamara. IMO it's an attempt to force generate revenue by requiring people to pay the not so hidden charge whether they want it or not. Celebrity will never be able to imitate Azamara as long as Lisa is in charge of the penny pinching. That was her job at Royal Caribbean and why she was transferred to Celebrity to her do her hatchet job there. When Azamara attempts the same, I'll move up the line. Remember the double/double program? https://www.offshore-energy.biz/rcl-beats-the-double-doub
  10. How did you get the fruit to keep from falling off the plate when held upside down?
  11. To use an analogy; people who have never tasted steak think hamburger is great and good enough
  12. The key is whether the marketing firm knows what they're doing or not. A huge number of them question the client and just feed boiler plate garbage back to them based upon the client's input. Then they charge an exorbitant rate for that garbage. Based upon your myriad of CC postings, I suspect you may fit in that category. 🤣
  13. I thought it was for your first sail only? No? Azamara matches status and co earns. RC lets you be Diamond. but not matched.
  14. Or maybe: we don't care about your expectations, we just want your money. 😂
  15. I know that. I didn't say they just started it. We were talking about excesses and entitlement.
  16. Yes but even Carnival had to start limiting the number of drinks per day that the younguns felt they were entitled to.
  17. Don't they feed you in Canada? OMG. 🤢 Talk about always included.....
  18. Thirty Six but not all at the same time.
  19. It sounds like you don't appreciate Queen Lisa treating you like a mushroom. They keep you in the dark and feed you manure.
  20. I suspect they've been busy trying to comply with the CLIA and CDC guidelines/requirements preparing to sail again. They have to refit the ships for air, quarantine and social distancing areas. They're developing protocols. Their plate is. I'd guess when there is something concrete to announce, they'll do it. Dispensing partial information would not necessarily be productive. I personally don't need to know how they're making the sausage. I just want it to taste good when they're done.
  21. Usually Black Friday sales include a product at reduced pricing. Celebrity increased their fares. Not the day they released the new program but built up to it so it wouldn't appear as such when released. Do they really believe higher fares are a Black Friday sale?????
  22. He's used to getting paid by the word. 😁 When I'm looking to book a cruise, I consider a few lines and what bang I'm going to get for my buck (not necessarily the cheapest.) As other lines devalue their loyalty, that will be taken into consideration as I make my decision at the time. I'm not going to worry about the contracts because everyone writes it to favor their cruise line. Therefore I suspect they're probably all equal that way. However I'm sure someone who has read all of them will correct me. 👀
