We were in Manzanillo last February aboard the Grand Princess. I had arranged a scuba diving trip with a local dive shop. We caught a cab at the port and it was about a 20 minute ride to the shop. We had a great time scuba diving in an area north of Manzanillo. The dive shop owner is an American. After diving we took a cab back to the port. No problems whatsoever.

Thanks for the review. We are doing Tikal in December from the HAL Rotterdam. Really looking forward to it. A little bummed that HAL is charging us $100 more pp than what you paid.

Last year when we were there we snorkeled in the first spot GradUT mentioned. It was a bit annoying getting there because the beach directly in front of the snorkeling area is private, reserved for one of the private cabanas. We had to walk from the public beach area in the water over to the snorkeling area. The snorkeling was just ok. We had our own gear. We will be back to HMC this December and probably won't bother snorkeling. We will be diving in Curacao and Aruba though.
