  1. I'm sitting here right now looking at places in Cozumel. 🤣
  2. Just an update on the passport issue...silly me! My husband is a "Jr" and I guess you need to put that in on the "passport checking site" when it ask for your last name. I wasn't doing that. He called this morning and he's in there! Whew! Just an FYI for anyone that may need a passport...they say around 10 weeks delivery time BUT they are doing expedited services again if you need it quickly.
  3. LOL, don't have an anxiety attack...it's all good. Thanks for the comments and glad you enjoyed the review! 🙂
  4. Yea I hate that they have made it so hard for people to exit the port now. They want you to go "the long way" winding around all the shops. If you want the quickest way out, when you get into the port area, keep as left as you can around the pool to take a short cut down the row of vendors and out the exit. The first time we were there after remodeling, they did have the truck in the way of the exit and the next time we went, they had it completely blocked off with a wall. They want to make sure no one gets out easily. They did have the trams running last time we were there in December last year though (for the pier).
  5. I have to say I'm getting really agitated with this passport issue. It's been 13 days since my passport was entered into the system and it's still saying my husbands is not there. Is it even possible for them to have it and not have it entered yet? I don't know what to do at this point. I have managed to lose my USPS receipt with both of our tracking numbers on there. Ugh...makes my stomach turn at this point. Like I don't suppose I can call anyone at the passport agency....can I? --```````
  6. Lol at your swimming habits. You sound a lot like my son in law Billy (who comes on these cruises with us). Very rarely will you catch him in the ocean...there's too many scary things in there that's out to get him. Now I have to admit I really don't care for lakes or man-made beaches because the water isn't clear and it kinda creeps me out what might be under there.
  7. Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed it. I absolutely love cruising out of San Juan and taking some time before/after the cruise to experience more of PR is absolutely a must do if you can. Doing the Southern itinerary is one of my favorites ever!
  8. I appreciate your insight and thoughts of another cruiser that snorkels a lot. I didn't say that Trunk Bay was the most amazing snorkeling I've ever done...not by far. But it was pretty darn good compared to most places I've been in STT (with the exception of Coki/Sapphire). I have most definitely been to some out of this world snorkeling places and Trunk doesn't begin to compare. BUT, what we are talking about here is STJ/STT. People coming to these area's (usually by cruise ship) want to know where to go to snorkel and see coral and fish (which is why they ask what's the best place to go for snorkeling there, not what's the best snorkeling island to go to). I have just always read (on here) that Trunk was the best over at STJ and when Blue mentioned there were better places, I just wanted to know where I (should) have went or where I'd try to go next time we come for another land vacation there. I consider myself a snorkel queen myself (as well as most people on these boards do as well) and it's all we ever do when we vacation (along with diving). I have dove in Barbados with some of the wrecks, snorkeled Goffs Caye and Rendezvous Caye and tons and tons of other places many many times. I would add St Lucia to one of the amazing places to snorkel as well (since you didn't mention it in your list). We cruise and vacation at least 3 times a year and my sole purpose at each port we go to is to either snorkel or dive. I have been many places and experienced different types of reefs, so I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about snorkeling. But I most definitely wasn't comparing Trunk to places OTHER than STT/STJ (because if I had to do that, I would have said the snorkeling was mediocre at best). I was comparing it to places within STT/STJ because well...that's what this particular forum is. So when the question was presented about better places to snorkel on STJ, I just wanted to know which (of the beaches) were better so that I will head that way next time. 😉 My issue is (if others come on here to search for a snorkeling place in STJ and read your comment "not much snorkeling at Trunk clear water and some ray's a few sharks but that's it. There's nothing on the bottom, great for swimming but no snorkeling." Then this is HIGHLY misleading! Maybe if you are out in the middle of the beach there's nothing on the bottom, but that's definitely not true for the entire beach and especially along the reef are by the rocks. I just took those pictures 2 months ago. That really doesn't look like no snorkeling here or that there's nothing on the bottom. Just saying. I'm not trying to be argumentative, just don't want people coming on the boards and being told there's no snorkeling here when there absolutely is and not at all like your (words) described. 😉
  9. It's looking like I might have to vacation without the hubby next time at this rate. 😆 It's still not in the system for him.
  10. Are we talking about the same Trunk Bay in St John? I'm confused. There's definitely more than a few rays and sharks (which we didn't see any of while we were there). Before ever going here, everyone always talked about "you just have to go to Trunk Bay for snorkeling". We were there on our land vacation and the snorkeling was pretty darn good to the right side along all the rocks that stick up out of the water and there's a reef. They have some of the amazing purple turnicates. I think I have only seen these a few places before and we snorkel a lot. I know that Coki has some as well. They are so beautiful. There were a lot of fish (and huge one's), squid and plenty of huge coral and sea life. I found it to be pretty awesome. I have plenty of pictures of our snorkeling. We also snorkeled at Maho and it was ok and did have some coral as well but did have turtles, starfish, squid and even found an eel. I guess I'm a little confused about your last statement saying you don't snorkel but just before that stating that there's really not much snorkeling at Trunk? There's a reef on both sides of Trunk. 🤿 We I found Yea we did Maho Bay (didn't find it as impressive as Trunk was) but did see turtles there. I'll have to make sure when I return to go to Waterlemon Cay next time. Our entire trip to St Thomas was full of turtles (but mostly over in STT).
  11. Aww shucks...thanks so much. haha I do the same with ships that I'm about to go on. Can't get enough of it.
  12. Which beach is better for snorkeling than trunk?
  13. So after many many moons...yesterday MY passport has arrived and was put into the system. My hubby's is not found yet. 😞 UGH!
  14. I know right. It's been a nightmare!~ Thanks so much. Safe Travels to you as well. Yea, I hope I get them at least by December.
  15. Thanks so much Nicki. I'm glad you enjoyed the review and pictures. 🙂
  16. MY PASSPORT REVIEW 😉 LOL Well, I'm now waiting on a passport to determine where/when we might go somewhere again. I took my renewals to the post office LAST MONDAY, with the lady there telling me "I would send this priority mail to make sure it gets there fast, usually 2-3 days, with delivery confirmation and insurance". Ok...give me that. $12 later I walked out with a receipt stating both of our passports and renewals (2 packages) were going to be happily on their way to the passport agency to be thrown in a pile of 179,000+ passports that arrive the same week as ours does. So, 3 days later I check the status of my newly??? arrived passport at the agency. Hmmm, it's been 3 days and it's still sitting in my home state at the reginal facility. Um, ok. I'll give it another day or two. So much for priority fast 2-3 day delivery. I can see that's not about to happen. So a total of 5 days in and I check the status and get ready for the big clap and happy dance and it pops up Arrived at USPS Regional Facility LOS ANGELES CA DISTRIBUTION CENTER. Wait what????!!!! It's only going 1 state away from me and it's been 5 long drawn out days and it has managed to land itself in CALIFORNIA??? I am totally confused at this point. The hubby tries to reassure me that they probably send all of them there for processing. Um no! I wrote Philadelphia PA on the envelopes, they don't just change up where they send it, the paperwork all said Philadelphia PA is where I needed to send it to so it needs to go to Philadelphia PA!!! I frantically call USPS and they tell me I need to wait another day or two and then they could file for a "lost" mailing. It's not lost! It's half way across the world in the wrong facility...well, at least it felt like that. Can't you call someone and track it down and send it where it needs to go??? Like this is my passport(s)! It's not just some random piece of mail. That's it, I want to use my "phone a friend" for help! Two days later I check again and it tells me In Transit to Next Facility what is this "next facility"??? China perhaps?? This is only the luck of someone like me who has no luck at all. Of course I headed back to the post office and spoke with the lady who told me to send it this way and how quickly it would get there. I knew she wouldn't be able to do anything about it, but I wanted to express my frustration at this point and try to get answers. She did some checking and came back to inform me "it was thrown in the wrong outgoing box". Outgoing from where I inquired? She said "here". So, I have never worked at the post office, but I have sent many packages and watched them weigh your package, take payment, put the sticker on and then walk over and put it in certain boxes. I would venture to say she's the person that put it in the wrong box! Unless it's just a generic box and someone else sorts them in the back...but that would be counter productive if you ask me. So, this is the part that I would give less than a positive experience with a vendor if this was a cruise/land review. Just saying... The following day I'm happy to report it's finally in....not PA but Nashville TN. Well, at least my passports are getting a vacation and traveling the US. I'm not, but they are. I hope they are getting stamped along the way for proof of travel. I could use some stamps in my book since I never do that. Not one but TWO days of sitting in Nashville, seeing the sites, singing a little country music, and it's finally leaving for it's next destination. It's like watching the Bachelor on tv. They stay a few days and the Chris Harrison comes in and announces "pack your bags...you're off to........" And everyone is excited...except for me. I'm pretty sure it's going to leave this destination and head straight over to South East Asia to make sure to bring me back some of that new "Covid" juice. Ugh! So now we are at day 9. I feel like I'm doing a daily review at this point. Only there's no beach and no sand. 😞 I get confirmation that ....drum roll please... they both have landed in HARRISBURG PA DISTRIBUTION CENTER. Hey, at least it's in the right state finally. I could have just drove and dropped them off many many many days ago. Just saying... That brings us to day 10: Today!!! I get the notification it has officially arrived at PHILADELPHIA PA DISTRIBUTION CENTER. Ya know, where it was supposed to be 7-8 days ago. Tonight they are happily on their way to where they are supposed to be: The item is currently in transit to the destination. I honestly don't believe it. I think it will sit there for a few days...but we'll see. Or maybe it will come back to Ohio and declare a "redo" to get it right the next time. Who knows. When looking on the US Gov site for the passports, it's now stating turn around is now 10-12 weeks. That would put me roughly around mid December to the end of December. So, I guess we'll see. I may have to do a Christmas vacation. I'll keep everyone posted.
  17. OH MY! Yea no, I think I'll stay away from there. 😲 I would love to go to Bonnaire. One place I haven't been to yet. Thanks for this list. Very helpful. Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
  18. Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed it. I love the Dream class ships too with the Breeze being my favorite.
  19. On my website? I just checked it and it takes me to the Pride. Hmm I'm not sure what's going on. CARNIVAL SHIPS CLICK HERE Aww, thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it. 20. Thanks so much. Glad you had a good time. 🙂 What do you mean by the Pride review wasn't 😞 ? I'm confused about the Epic?
  21. We just did a land vacation in St Thomas and went over to St John for the day. I don't know if the barge ferries (we took a car over) are slower than the people ferry but man it took FOREVER! Something like 40 minutes to get over (and back). It may be due to COVID and no ships in port but the day we were there, there were not food trucks or any place to buy drinks at all. Thank goodness we had brought our own. This beach is beautiful and if you like to snorkel...this place is a great place to do it!
