I have been on the Ovation many times, and they have never had Ramen the several years I have sailed. It’s one thing I miss also, since I don’t eat sushi.

Only 712 more CC points and you'll be Elite +. 🤣
You can earn CC cruise points without cruising. They are Power Up Points (PUPs).

This is how I have 3 points before my first cruise on Celebrity next month. 😉

Yes after you have 300 point.
Wrong. You are confusing the OP. I am going on my FIRST Celebrity cruise next month and I’m listed as Elite since I’m D+ on Royal. Just like Celebrity Elite get Diamond status on Royal.
@driverandrewsDid you happen to get your Captains number on Celebrity before you got to Diamond? That may be why it showed Select. Just give them a call, or it may automatically update now that your Diamond.

Got it. But dang it because the app is so much more convenient. Thanks!!
You can also try the app, but just in case, try both. 😉

Usually opens the beginning of the month, prior to your sailing month. For instance, if your sailing is in June, start checking around May 1
Check at that time on the Website Daily Planner, not app

I know you can bring liquor on board for immediate consumption in Europe, but what about Asia? We’ve brought both wine and spirits on board without issues all over Europe like, Scotland, Ireland, Iceland, England, Spain etc. But we are doing a cruise out of Singapore and I’m wondering if it’s the same in Singapore. Has anyone done this?
I’m trying to remember if a Carnival ship has ever departed from Singapore. If it has, then it’s rare, so not sure you would get accurate info. I sailed the Splendor over there in 2019, so you would have to find someone that then sailed it to Sydney.

They're still around, but just as rare as they've always been.
Like the 55+ ones 🤷🏼♀️

My daughter and granddaughter are on Oasis end of June, and it still shows Marseille. Since the OP posted this a year ago, maybe some of the Royal ships dates and ports were changed.
Not sure about VV. -

I appreciated the talent. Especially the gymnastic ability of the dancers. They were phenomenal.just not my cup of tea
Spectra is definitely one of those “ yay or nay” shows. I personally love it, and have seen it many times on the Ovation. I like some songs better than others. I would love to be able to see Terry Lavell as Spectra. I’m on the Anthem in April/2025, but just not sure he will still be doing contracts then.

Just an FYI. Depending on the number of Diamond+ and Pinnacle on board for your sailing, Diamonds may not be allowed in during the evening happy hour times. It will state in the letter in your cabin when you board.

I just priced a balcony that I pick with my DP340 for $973. It’s so tempting because I’m boarding Celebrity Edge in Vancouver on May 11 and already have a hotel for the 10th. One way airfare to Honolulu is only $160 from Seattle on Alaska Air.

Not sure I have ever seen free escape room on Royal,
The one on Wonder was free, but it wasn’t a true escape room. It said Escape Room, but it was just a regular room with some puzzles set up. This was back in Oct/22, and plans were to eventually build a real one, but I don’t know if that has ever happened.

Seattle is my home port, and the last time I left from here, there were cordoned off areas with time slots, and they were full with guests. Of course, it probably all depends how many decide to show up earlier than their check in times, whether they allow guests to go in early.
And of course, like everywhere else, YMMV on your sailing day…LOL- 1

I have been on the Ovation many times and will finally get to sail the Anthem in Apr/2025. I love Quantum class ships. Looking forward to your review, and glad to see Alan back up and cruising again. Please be careful!

Agreed. Starlink has made Voom much faster and more reliable but on the older ships like Jewel service can still be patchy, particularly in cabins which aren’t close to a router in the corridor.Absolutely true. Had no cabin access at all on the Jewel last year.

If Glacier Bay is on your to see list, then Holland American and Princess will be the ones to pick. Now look at their itineraries on their website, and see which one fits your cost and time frame.
Alaska cruises aren’t known for their party cruises, and most are at least 7 nights.

From memory the other shows get booked when you are on the ship via the app or in the terminal. Bumper cars are still working, or they offer laser tag type game, roller skating or some sports in the same venue.
On Quantum class, only show that has reservations are the ones in Two70

This has been the standard for, I think, ever since cruise started again after Covid. I have not heard of anything new recently.

I just paid $69 but we just booked this cruise for June and I didn't think it would drop much at this point. So, just figured I'd jump on it
Is this for a 7 night cruise or longer? If 7 nights, that’s a great price. If longer, then they are usually less.

Celebrity often has better rates for solo travellers than Royal and they have single edge veranda rooms on Edge class ships. Look e.g. into Ascent in June 2025.
I’m in a solo veranda on the Edge in May. It was cheaper than a regular interior cabin. I’m looking forward to it and it’s my first Celebrity cruise. I’m not concerned about getting points on Celebrity since I go over as Elite any way because of Royal points.

I don’t belong to that other sight for reasons mentioned, plus it’s just not very private, and I like to keep my life private. And for me personally, I enjoy less people.
Most of my roll calls on Cruise Critic for unique cruises are pretty active, but I’m wondering since the OP is from Australia, if a cruise that doesn’t originate or end in the US, like a TP, just doesn’t draw as many Cruise Critic folks.
I’m on the Panorama in Oct. from Singapore to Long Beach and it’s been pretty active.
I sailed the Splendor from Long Beach to Sydney back in 2019, and we had a pretty active Roll Call then also.

I have the solo discount now, and I always book interiors. I have been on the Ovation multiple times, but no other Quantum class, so I can see me eventually booking a B2B or more. My daughter and granddaughter are in San Diego, so it would be an easy family cruise. She hasn’t been on a Quantum class ship yet, so an alternative besides Navigator would be an option. Plus, no flights for her, and I could extend a cruise to a visit to San Diego too.

I have been cruising for 44 years, and I’m starting to wind down. I’m a solo cruiser, and for me at this point, it’s all about itinerary. I have never been loyal to a cruise line, but I did focus on Royal the last few years to get to the 340 mark, which I did. I have 3 different cruise lines booked through Spring of 2025. I’m not really sure what the future holds for me. As I’ve gotten older, I do enjoy being a homebody. If the right itinerary comes along, and the price fits in my wheelhouse, I may be enticed.

Yep. That's California cruising for you.
It's hard to make anything out of LA exciting.
I think a B2B or more would be OK for Westcoasters that really only wanted the ship experience. There are people in Florida and Texas who do short cruises over and over to the same places. This really would be no different. How many don’t even get off the ship in Nassau anymore? And I can see people on the left side doing some of these to accumulate points too.
I love the Quantum class, and would look into doing the Quantum out of LA, especially now that I have my solo discount.

Unless you want double points. You don’t get them in solo cabins.
