  1. I actually had this very conversation with Captain's Club pre-pandemic and your explanation is exactly as I was told. Use the Surf package for everyday use, then log out of of it and log into your Elite Plus minutes when you need the streaming feature. I wasn't able to test this, however, as that cruise was canceled.
  2. This brings back very good memories. Almost exactly a year ago (2/15/20) we visited Puerto Vallarta while on Grand. We had an amazing day while there and can't wait to get back someday. (We took a walking food tour.)
  3. Thank you! (And note to self to take sceeenshots going forward for verification.)
  4. Four of my December points loaded but not the five for the Apex webinar video that I watched after the fact. Can anyone help me with the approximate date that they either received the email inviting them to watch the video or when they did watch the video? I assume it was sometime shortly after the live webinar which I believe was Dec.9th. Captain's Club says they can't help me until I have a more specific date that I would have watched this video. TIA
  5. Excellent advice. Thank you. My only reason for wanting to leave it with Princess as long as possible is that I find it easier/faster to manage the booking myself if I see any price changes. I ultimately go with a TA for the added benefits. In this case, I will transfer the booking within the 60 days to be safe. Thank you to the OP for resurrecting this old thread or I would have been out of luck.
  6. How interesting! I just made a direct booking with Princess this week for 2022. I specifically asked the Princess agent for the procedure for transferring the booking to a TA. She said (twice) that I had up until final payment to make the transfer and to call the TA directly, not Princess. I would hate to get past the 60 days and then be denied the transfer.
  7. Like you, I didn't know these pages existed either. But I discovered from the drop down menu, you could choose "Destinations", and then choose your desired location. I chose "Europe" and then was able to see each city referenced in the quiz.
  8. Celebrity canceled our April 11th cruise in the second round of cancellations in March. Our payments were spread over four credit cards. Two of the refunds came in May and June. It was a struggle to get the last two refunds. Each time a call was placed by us or our TA, we were told, "I see the amount. I will send it to Finance. Wait "x amount" of days (anywhere from 7 to 45 days)." Nothing seemed to work. After getting a supervisor at our TA involved three weeks ago, the final two refunds posted this week: 140 days after the initial cancellation and request for refund.
  9. We, too, are waiting on a $300 refund to a Celebrity Bank of America Visa that is closed. How did you find out about the refund to the closed card? Since we no longer have online access to that closed account, I am calling the bank every day or two to find out if there is a credit balance. Is that how you discovered your credit posted or were you notified another way? And now that your credit posted, have you been able to reach out to BofA for them to issue you a check?
  10. Our TA OBC has never been available for booking pre-cruise, but perhaps it is TA specific. In our experience, however, the excursions are priced higher once onboard, not even accounting for any sales Celebrity may be having. We recently compared our prepurchased excursion prices (no sale) with the brochure once we boarded and found the excursions anywhere from 5-15% more once onboard. Of course, this may be cruise specific and YMMV.
  11. Ok, thanks. Two of my refunds are on canceled credit cards at two different banks, and both banks have told me that the refund WILL go to the cards and I will have to call the bank to tell them what I want done with the credits. The problem is I no longer have any online access to these closed accounts so it means a phone call to the banks periodically to ask if the refund has been received. Funny though, both banks told me, “call the cruiseline and ask them what day they are processing your refund...”
  12. Yes, it is common in the industry. As for booking your excursions now and then canceling onboard to repurchase with OBC, I have found that to be a risk. I was once told when I got onboard that there was a waiting list for that particular excursion and I would move to the bottom of the list. Have you confirmed that your TA OBC is “refundable?” I know it would be a long wait to get your refund, but you could use the refund after the cruise to pay yourself back for the prepurchased excursions.
  13. This is interesting. Still waiting for refund for 4/11 Summit cruise. I still see the cruise listed in my Past Cruises. For those who have received their refunds (or FCC’s) and have been made whole, have you found that your canceled cruise drops off this list? If so, it might be a way I can check that and then know my refund is forthcoming.
