  1. What is the quickest way to get from the Central Train Station to City Tram 7 at Sergels Torg? Our cruise ship gets into Nynashamn at 7:00am and we plan to take the train to Central Station and visit Skansen. If time permits we would also like to see Vasa. Is that feasible? We have to be back at the ship by 5:00 for a 6:00 sailing.

  2. Our ship, NCL Sun, comes into Nynashamn and we plan to go to Skansen. We were going to get teh Stockholm Card, but it is not mailed out and you have to pick it up at the Visitor Center across from the Central Station. Since we could not use it for the trip in (even though it is covered in the cost) it would not be worth the cost for a 24 hour visit. So our next choice is getting the 24 hour visitor card that covers public transportation. Are those tickets purchased through a kiosk, or do we need to purchase it from station staff since it would be the first time use? Also, can you advise as to which American credit cards could be used at the station or kiosk? I am trying to plan for how many Kronors to take. Thanks

  3. Hello! We are American "ex-pats" who are currently living in Copenhagen.

LOTS of great ships come through here - and I'm more than happy to give advice on "what to see and do".

We have two children, ages 4 and 6 (currently) - so are very well versed in "what do to with kids".

The great thing about CPH is that it is a VERY (and I mean VERY) clean, safe, and EASY city to explore.

You have been most helpful and we are pleased to learn that CPH is very clean and safe. We have heard that pickpockets are a problem, particularly around Tivioli and the Central Station. Are we needlessly concerned?

  4. Two adults and two teenage girls, each with a suitcase that will fit in an airline overhead bin, plus a duffle bag that attaches to the suitcase handle. Can a cab handle this group. We plan on using the CPH Card from the airport to our hotel, but from 71 Nyhavn to the Freeport pier will require a cab (if it can handle us) or Cruise Services Transfer at $247 USD. PS. the CPH Card will expire the day before embarkation.

  5. Thanks for the advice! We will take your suggestion and go to Frederiksborg Slot on Saturday. If we take the train at 9:00 am and plan to see the castle, chapel, and gardens; how much time should we budget? We are mainly asking if that takes the whole day or whether we can see other things when we return to CPH.

So much to see and so little time. Here is a list of what we would like to see. If you had to cut something out, what would it be (given we have 2 1/2 days:

    Harbor Tour

    Nyhavn (our hotel is there)

    National Museum

    Glyptotck

    Amalienborg

    Marble Church

    Kastellet

    Langelinie

    Rosenborg Slot

    Trivoli

    Radhus/ Astronomical Clock

    Frederiksborg Slot

Thanks so much for all the info. We like to plan ahead so we spend our time sightseeing, not figuring out what to do. We will arrive in CPH on Friday June 10 at 9:30 am, and leave on Monday. We are parent and have two teens. We plan on getting the CPH cards. We plan on 1 1/2 days seeing central CPH and want to take the train to Fredriksborg Slot one day. Is it better to go to Hillerod on Saturday or Sunday? Also we plan on meeting another family on Sunday evening for a trip to Tivioli. They also have a teen. How much time should we spend there?

Thanks again for a great thread:)
