  1. I spoke with our TA yesterday and she explained things to me. We just have to BOOK a cruise by 12/31/21....the cruise can be after that. The credit will be extended to whatever is booked by then.
  2. Ok just got notice that our May 9th cruise was canceled. In looking at the FCC offer it says 125% of the base cruise fare. What is that? It is not defined in the small print. What happens to the taxes and port fees we paid? Is that included in the FCC or is it refunded to us? So confusing......
  3. Thanks - that is what we usually do, but couldn't remember the times.
  4. Coming in late to this thread, but does anyone know what the hours of the MDR lunch are on embarkation day? Thanks!
  5. Thanks Bruce - exactly what I was thinking!
  6. Thanks. I just wanted to be sure. We have never had a problem with the wait times for the any time dining. We did an Alaskan cruise last year with my folks and did the anytime, I think one time they gave us a pager, but before we got our drinks the pager was going off to get our table.
  7. I should add I was always under the understanding that you could not alternative between the fixed and the flexible options - but I'd like confirmation so I can have them decide what they would like to do. Thanks!
  8. Have booked an Alaskan cruise for this year with some friends. We just met up to go over things and discovered that they had booked the Early Dining option and we have the As you Like it (or the flexible dining option). We would all prefer to dine together, though I'm not keen on a fixed dining time. I haven't done that in so long and with the shore excursions I think we are planning on the Early dining (which I believe to be 5:45 p.m.) might be a bit rush. So question: Can our friends simply decide to skip their Early dining time and come join us on the As You L
  9. We were on the Osterdam in May this year and loved it. We just booked for the May 9th cruise out of Vancouver. It will be a week earlier so will see how the weather is. But we loved the scenery and snow capped mountains, we saw bald eagles and whales, but no bears. We were told the day before our Juneau tour they saw a bear. Overall with exception of some short term drizzle in Sitka, the weather was awesome.
  10. I have fallen in love with the various luggage valet services offered by several cruise lines and ports. We are going RT out of Vancouver next year and wondered if there is a luggage valet service offered? We were on HAL RT out of Seattle this year and it was so easy and convenient. Thank you!
  11. I did not read through the other responses. I can say that I have been on 5 HAL cruises - 2 this year (NA and Oosterdam) and I have one booked for next year. We have cruised Oceania and that was the best, but not comparable in pricing to HAL or Celebrity. We have cruised 4 or 5 Celebrity cruises and frankly that is my preference of cruise line, but their itineraries are sometimes lacking for us. Anyway, to compare Celebrity v. HAL on food - MDR - I think Celebrity is overall better quality. Though we did have many nice meals on our recent HAL cruises, there were some misses. T
  12. I know there are is a couple of other threads on this when I did a search, but just want to make sure I have the most current information on this. We are choosing the House Beverage Package as our "free" option. I understand that it is for wine, champagne and beer at lunch and dinner. Question: Is there a limit on the price of the wine or beer? I didn't see that in the fine print, but wanted to make sure. Now my other question: Upgrading to the Prestige Select Beverage Package: I believe that I can do this correct? If so - how do I go about doing this? Once on board where wo
