  1. I'm currently on Regent Seven Seas Voyager which has substituted Manila for Hong Kong for debarkation on March 1st. I am looking to hire a driver/guide to pick me up at cruise terminal (with luggage), give me a full day Manila tour, and then drop me at hotel. Does anyone have recommendations for this? Thanks.
  2. Have you tried googling shore excursions Gisborne? There are lots of other sites besides Viator such as Get Your Guide, and there are often local companies as well.
  3. I stayed at the Amora 2 years ago and didn't like the location. It was far to get anywhere (by foot). If you can get either closer to Circular Quay or to Darling Harbour, I would recommend there to stay.
  4. I'll be in Singapore for one day in February and want to see as much as I can in 8 hours. I will have a private guide. A few questions for those who have been to Singapore. 1. If arriving by ship (not disembarking, it's a port stop), how much time do I need to allow for immigration/getting off the ship? 2. The guide is suggesting the SkyPark. Is it worth the time? 3. The guide is also recommending the Gardens by the Bay which I definitely want to go to, along with the 2 conservatories there. Are the conservatories worth the time? Will I see flowers that I won't see in th
  5. Leaving in a few days for a cruise on the Voyager and have a few questions. I'm in a Concierge Level Category E cabin. 1. Is there a clothesline in the bathroom? 2. Is the minibar in the cabin large enough that you can put some snacks in it? 3. Does the fitness center have foam rollers and a scale? 4. And if you've used the personal trainers in the fitness center, how were they and do you recall the cost? Thanks, Jamie

  9. Over the last couple days stops at Kangaroo Island and Eden have been cancelled. However, things can change quickly, and by the time I'm in Australia (arrive Jan. 29) things could be totally different. I understand that about half of Kangaroo Island has been wiped out - it's just tragic. Jamie
  10. Are you arriving Auckland on Jan 18th? I arrive at 5:30am. I didn't book a room, figured I'd do the Hop on Hop Off bus, but I'm curious how much the hotel is charging for your early check-in. Also, in case you're not the roll call for this cruise, a bunch of us are planning to meet in the Lobby Lounge of the Cordis at 5:00 for a drink. Jamie
  11. I was looking at the ferry website and it looks like the Ocean Terminal is pretty close to the Balmain East stop on the F3 line. Is that the case and if so, can I catch a taxi or Uber to the stop? Thanks. Jamie
  12. I will be on Regent Seven Seas Voyager that will be visiting Sydney at the end of January. We will be docked at White Bay Cruise Terminal. Does anyone know if there's a ferry that stops there? If not, other than taxi/Uber, what is the easiest way to get to get to the Circular Quay Ferry Terminal? Thanks. Jamie
  13. I just read this article about the fires: https://www.cnet.com/how-to/australian-bushfires-everything-we-know-and-how-you-can-help/?fbclid=IwAR0HGkuQBWFO4FEIqKAjgb8ICD_6oqnvD8-kY5vAU0WvXMgDShR2gkewJXM. As tourists, we are guests in Australia. Please be respectful of any changes to our cruise/excursions that might be impacted by the fires. An amazing country is struggling right now and we should do whatever we can to help them. Jamie
  14. Thanks all. The fires are just so devastating. The places I'm visiting are Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns, and Darwin. I'm also doing an overland tour to the Outback - which would be incredibly hot anyways in February. Jamie
  15. Will be on a cruise with multiple east coast stops in late January/early February. Wondering for those who are there/have been there recently, are the coastal areas being affected by the smoke? It's heartbreaking to see all the damage there. Any impact on shore plans? Thanks, Jamie
  16. I'm prepping for 40 day cruise (leave in just under 3 weeks). Does RSSC have any specially themed nights that I should pack for? (For example, HAL has orange night, Carnival has white night, etc.). Thanks, Jamie
  17. Would someone please let me know if there are outlets available bedside, specifically 110v wall outlet? Thanks, Jamie
  18. Thanks for the info Chiliburn - that's why I'm looking for an alternative.
  19. I am on Regent Seven Seas Voyager that stops at Arlie Beach (a tender port) on Feb. 3, 2020. The main snorkeling excursion from the ship has been cancelled and I am waitlisted for the replacement. So I am looking for recommendations for a back-up plan in case I don't get on the new tour. I really want to snorkel there. If you've had a port of call at Arlie Beach and gone snorkeling (not on a ship sponsored excursion), would you please share your experiences and recommendations. Thanks, Jamie
  20. You are correct - you can use wifi calling anywhere. I'm talking about cellular service.
  21. This is great for land use of your phone. However, on a cruise ship, your provider will likely charge you. From RSSC website: Please consult your wireless service provider for detailed rates, cruise packages and service zones. Visit cellularatsea.com for complete details on using your wireless phone at sea.
  22. Just happened upon this article, https://www.seattletimes.com/nation-world/nation/new-zealand-volcano-erupts/?utm_content=bufferf2659&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=owned_buffer_f_m&fbclid=IwAR3CfxLvsgq4L0Jy1a5US_u25xICeSEHnGRBkmrKdBn8R9YyHMs5_883x1c, that a volcano on White Island erupted today. White Island sits about 50 kilometers (30 miles) offshore from mainland New Zealand. The volcano is on White Island, northeast of the North Island town of Tauranga. I doubt it will affect upcoming cruises but thought I'd share. Jamie
  23. I'm in the U.S. and was talking to a couple today who live in Hong Kong (he's an American pilot for Fedex) and she's a Russian. They told me that I should not be concerned at all about going to Hong Kong - that there are no reasons to worry for personal safety. They said there might be some inconveniences due to transportation closures but other than that they said not to worry. I also have a friend from Hong Kong who currently lives in Australia. She arrived in Hong Kong last week to spend the month with her family. So far she's seen peaceful protests and graffiti but nothing else
  24. Tell me about Benoa. Are there beaches or resorts near by? We have 2 days in Bali, docked at Benoa, and for one day I'd just like to go to the beach and/or go snorkeling. Options? What else is in Benoa? Jamie
