I'm not sure about that - I do know they let him have 2 of one if he wanted etc. So if two people wanted to share the same ones they could. It's true though - if you have the drink package you can just order full size ones, and try them all!  🙂

Good luck walking back to your cabin!

    lol

  2. We are cruising without our usual drink package, so i want to pre-order the martini flight.

    it says six 3oz martinis

we normally have a 6 ounce or so martini, so that sounds like a lot to drink!

Anyone had it and have a recommendation?

is it a lot to drink, should a couple share one, or have one apiece!

  3. In our experience, you don’t usually have to ask for “cheaper” brands, but you must be very careful to request the higher priced brands. For instance ask for a margarita.

Unless you specify what to make it with, you get the house brand.

Or a vodka martini, they make it with absolut for instance not bad, but if you want grey goose you have to be specific with the server (and hope it was made).

The premium package was a bit of a pain at say the pool bar, to get what you paid for.

At the martini bar or world class bar or any venue with unique drinks, they usually were higher priced by default.

  4. The corkage fee is if you bring them to say, the dining room.

You are allowed 2 bottles per cabin to CARRY ON, not in checked luggage.

Note it’s 2 per cabin, not per person. A back to back is actually 2 separate cruises, so NO you cannot board with 4. There is a scheme where 2 people go through the scanners separately with 2 bottles each, but I’m not recommending you do or don’t but it reportedly is possible. To be in full compliance you would bring 2 onboard the first leg, then 2 more on the second leg.

    Enjoy your cruise!

I’d bid the minimum for each and see what happens. Such a short cruise makes it less of an issue not being upgraded.

    maybe not the minimum...

if say 10 people bid the minimum, but YOU bid $5 more, you are ahead of the crowd.

    just an idea

As others have said, board early.  Check in around 10:15 - 10:30.  They always keep some open spots to accommodate the suite guests.  When you threaten to cancel, they may allocate some of the suite guest spots to you.

Well that's a great plan, except we are instructed to board @ 1:30pm!

can i simply ignore that? it would seem to be bad manners....

  7. we have an upcoming (next month) cruise. just booked because of time off work concerns.

DW strongly desires dinner in lawn club and murano on her birthday and our anniversary.

no open dates shown in cruise planner. I have purchased unlimited specialty dining in the hope that they will somehow accommodate us. will this work ?

  8. we have done enough celebrity cruises to reach elite, but none in a 2-3 years, so what is changed?

specifically the captains club cocktail hour, elite breakfast, and policy of bringing wine onboard at embarkation?

it used to be 3 drink coupons that were not valid in the dining room and  two bottles per cabin carry on

    thanks in advance

  9. I was all set to chime in and add that we have heard this on other ships (reflection) in rough weather, ALL ships flex and creak sometimes…

THEN, i watched the video in post #47.

You can see the seas are very calm, no whitecaps, almost no swells. The creaking and banging is LOUD, incessant, and intolerable.

How interesting that some cabins do and some don’t.

Cruisecritic is the perfect venue to list noisy cabins to avoid!

As far as demanding to be relocated, that isn’t possible if all cabins are full.

  10. If nothing else, you motivated me to check our passport expiration dates. I renewed mine recently (USA) and it took far longer than i expected. Wife has 21 months on hers. These are difficult times for many things, I don’t have an opinion on what celebrity should or should not do, both follow the rules, or  make an exception for you have good arguments.

This is an excellent advertisement for trip insurance though!

Best wishes and good luck going forward.
