  1. I'm making an assumption that Royal Caribbean is contracting transportation of it is their excursion. This would be an added convenience. I think Amazing Race personnel did ask about calling us a taxi but we chose to walk along the waterfront a little while before hailing one ourselves.
  2. Wow. Offered through Royal Caribbean now? We booked it independent and had a blast. We are 50 somethings and lost out to a young couple from San Antonio. Boys would have a blast. I wouldn't go any younger than that. The worst part was transportation to and from the ship and doing the transportation alone in a foreign country.
  3. There is a referendum on December 19, 2019 to disapprove a plan to build a dock in Georgetown. The Port Authority is against it apparently. A dock will bring larger cruise ships but will intentionally destroy coral reef. It will also destroy the tendering industry. The Vote No movement is vocal. What think you?
  4. Buc-Ees gas station is halfway between Hobby and Port of Galveston. Pure Texas!
  5. We had a nice relaxing time in 2015. Food was decent. Extremely relaxing with hammocks and shade with ocean breeze and waves. Maybe someone has a more recent review. It was more family atmosphere than party atmosphere.
  6. We used in September. Great experience.
  7. We felt comfortable the whole time. Our most uncomfortable was the starting point, Municipal Mercado Food Court. We were there early and alone for almost an hour. The taxi ride there was fine ($10). Once the folks from Amazing Cozumel Race arrived, we felt very comfortable and safe. You see them almost every stop plus you are given a cell phone if you feel you get lost. They warn you which streets not to pass in order to remain safe. If you are comfortable with a very good city map you will not get lost. Locals cheered us on as we raced. The end of the race is along the seashore and felt very safe as we walked until tired and hailed a taxi back to the ship ($8). We did it independently off RCCL Liberty of the Seas. Carnival Cruise Line excursion experience would certainly be even more comfortable.
  8. Yes. Just got of Liberty of the Seas yesterday. DW enjoyed it. Out waiter recommended it.
