Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Oh my! I am so sorry to hear about your cruise experience. I, along with 27 of my family and friends are going on Bliss in November. This will be my first time sailing on a Norwegian Cruise Ship. I've sailed 20 times on different cruise lines, and looking forward to this cruise. It sounds like you tried to make the best of your cruise and sometimes no matter how hard you try, things can and will happen. I've been rained on more than once, as we returned to the ship, it poured. I wasn't as upset because I know the ship's procedure is to scan everything and everybody before the ship sails, it just took time. I'm trying to learn everything I can about NCL and Bliss so we are aware before we board the ship. I hope your next voyage is better. Happy sailing!
  2. Thank you all! 🙂 I'm excited, I've read so many nice things about Norweigan and Free-Style cruising. Happy Sailing!
  3. Hello: I'm new to Norweigan, sailing on Bliss. Can anyone answer a few questions? 1. Does the NCL Bliss have bed configurations where the bed is either next to the bathroom or next to the balcony? I prefer my bed to be next to the balcony. I'm in cabin 13144 on Bliss, does anyone know if the bed is near the balcony? My sister is in cabin 13160, is her bed near the balcony? 2. Freestyle dining will be a first for me. Is there any free food available between 10 pm-12 midnight? If so, what is it? 3. How is the muster drill handled? 4. Are cabins cleaned once a day or twice a day? 5. How late is the race track open? Any help with these questions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. 🙂
  4. Hi: I was watching Freedom of the Seas leave from Miami via PTZ and after turning in the basin, it docked again instead of going out to sea. I saw an ambulance with flashing lights headed to the ship. Anyone on the ship that could share any details. Prayers are going up.
  5. I enjoyed the Sea Day Brunch potatoes and every dessert served during Tea time was delicious
  6. I agree you, I'm not a drinker or a partier. I began cruising in 1993, and Carnival's TV service was great back then. Once I arrived in my cabin for evening usually around 10:30 or so. There was always something good to watch and there were multiple options. My last cruise was in October 2021, a short 5-night getaway, we boarded the ship on a Monday. I was kinda tired and thought I would enjoy Monday Night Football from my cabin, after we had our 6pm dinner, looked around a bit and headed to our cabin to watch the NFL. No NFL on the TV, hardly anything I was used too. We got up and went to the sports bar, the game was on in there, I asked the bartender about the sports shows and games, he said Carnival no longer provides sports in your cabins and the whole TV channel line I agree you, I'm not a drinker or a partier. He said Carnival no longer offers sports games and shows in your cabin. The whole channel line-up has changed. You have to come to the Sport Bar to watch. Several of the channels, I liked and was used to was gone. The channels were very limited on the ship. My next cruise is on Mardi Gras on July 23rd, I heard it's the same channel line-up and the MLB was shown in the Sport Bar or Tennis. We are not going to worry so much about it, if they offer a paid package at some point, I may consider it. Hope we get a survey.
  7. Thank you all for such great information. I visited Cozumel many years ago. 10 of us was shown a picture of a beach with restaurants, water sports, etc. We paid $15 each to go to this beach club and it was nothing like the picture they showed us. There were flies and bee's all over the bar and food area. We ended up paying a taxi to take us back to the port. Once back at port, one of the workers suggested we go to Mr. Sancho's and we loved it. We just don't want to stay all day, maybe 2 hours. Thanks again and for those who have a cruise scheduled, have a wonderful time.
  8. Thank you! I did read an online article about Paradise Beach, that's in option also.
  9. Great. This is good information! I had not heard of Nachi Cocum. I wanted to spend 2 hours at the beach and 2 hours souvenir shopping for t-shirts and magnets. I'll look up Nachi Cocum and maybe plan to go there instead. I didn't want to get an all day pass, I just wanted about 2 hours of beach. Thank you so much!!
  10. Hello: I'm wondering if anyone has recently visited Cozumel via a Cruise Ship and gone to Mr. Sancho's Beach Club. I will be on Mardi Gras in July and would like to go to Mr. Sancho's, I was there before covid and had a great time. I would like to go there during our Cozumel stop, but I want to be and feel safe, just wondered what the experience was like for anyone who may have recently gone to Mr. Sancho's. Any feedback you could share would be helpful as their website did help at all. Thank you. My questions are: 1. Were you able to exit the ship, find a taxi and go? 2. What was the price per person for the taxi? 3. Once you got to Mr. Sancho's were there any covid restrictions, was the entrance still free? 4. Has anyone Parasailed at Mr. Sancho's 5. Were the wait staff those serving drinks and food wearing mask?
