  1. Yes, have done it many times. Normally buy the on-line BOGO for $40/person. When we get on the ship we go to any SR and make/change our reservation time and place. This includes the Anthem, Harmony, Allure and Rhapsody. Yes, not all ships have Wonderland. However, that is our favorite and it is an experience. Forget reading the menu. Let your waiter bring things to you and eat what you like. Your waiter will ask you a couple questions to determine what you may or may not like. Happy Cruising!!

:confused:You were able to change it from the second night to a different night even though it says you are confined to the 1st and 2nd? I'm wresting with this decision too as the OP is for our future sailing. Want to try Giovanni's for a birthday celebration but tempted to go for BOGO and see what happens. Wish they'd just have FNDR instead. I guess they want people in the specialty restaurants on the formal nights...

  2. Hi! Just like everyone else I loved your post! I have a specific question because our son is worried about what comes after Adventure Ocean. I know, I know - first world problems. Here's his worry. He LOVES Adventure Ocean and this will be the last year he can do the organized activities because he's 11. Can you give me any ideas of what your 12 year old son did? Was there anything organized or is basically all on them to make friends. What all can they do? Thanks so much for any ideas!

  3. Last question I promise!:)

Did you happen to notice if there were any deals for the specialty restaurants? I know that you can book them in advance and there are some discounts but the only one that we're even slightly interested in is the BOGO and what we don't like about that is that you have to use it on the first (no problem) and second nights. Second night is an issue because we love formal nights in the dining room. Someone else said they were able to book Giovann's Table for a reduced rate just by stopping and speaking with a rep who was outside of the Windjammer one day. Thanks!

  4. Tip: On decks 6, 7, and 8 you can find these look out areas from where you can view the promenade, and get some views of the parade that is a bit removed from the crowds. It is not the best view of the parade, but a good alternative if you or your child don’t like the crowds.

When was the parade? Did they do it twice - one at the beginning and one at the end of the cruise? Thank you!

  5. No problem at all. I don't think they normally do the cheapest. It really wouldn't matter because you can change them any way you want normally. We did this BOGO on Anthem two years ago and changed to Wonderland and Chops without issue. It seems the only issue (or not depending on who is in charge that day) is changing the day and not the venues.

  6. day 1 is a good idea because the mdr is usually a zoo the first nite... however, we were able to switch out day 2 for the last nite.... we did this on the ship soon after we boarded

I'm sure we have a 50/50 chance of being able to do this but I don't want to take the chance. Thanks for all of your input!!

  7. When you download the RCL app and board the ship, do the two restaurants that were picked for you automatically show up in the app or do you have to wait to get to your cabin to see which restaurants were chosen?

Speaking of an app... is there one for Adventure? I know Quantum class has the Royal IQ but I don't believe Adventure has anything right now, correct?

  8. we had no problem switching nites or restaurants.. as soon as you get on board just go to one of the restaurants and they will change it there for you

Just in case this might help someone, I did get this reply today:

"Bogo packages are set up for day 1 and day 2 of the sailing. The ship will provide you with a courtesy dinner reservation on their behalf you will receive

the reservation confirmation in your stateroom once you arrive onboard. If you would like to switch the location or time it can be done once onboard however you

Will not be able to switch out of day 1 or 2. This offer requires dining on Days 1 and 2."

I can't say that I'm surprised as I'm sure they are trying to drum up business for the slow nights that are formal. And as always, just because I got this response doesn't mean that they might not switch it on the ship. However, I most likely won't buy the BOGO because I don't want to chance missing formal night in the MDR. I was hoping to possibly have something to back me up in writing if they weren't strict on the policy but it is what it is and I understand. Happy sailing!:)

  9. Hi there!

I have searched the forums and see that Halloween is a big deal on the ships and we are excited and plan on dressing up as a family (especially since we'll have two kids in our group) but what I'm not sure about is should I bring candy to give out to others? Do they actually let kids trick or treat?? Thank you!

  10. You can reach her at the email address shown in post #2.

Thank you. I've sent an email to that address for the past four months (one a month) with no response except one automated that they received the message and I'd hear back from them. That was two months ago.

  11. If you deal with Marlene at RCL dining, she is a ROCK STAR. She helped me so much for our Harmony cruise leaving this Saturday.

Do you have a way to get in touch with Marlene? We have a question about our upcoming Adventure OTS cruise in October.

    Thanks!
