  1. Hello, I’ve been on B2B cruises on both Celebrity and Royal Caribbean where my loyalty level increased in-between. Whilst the computer in Miami, or wherever, did not update, the ships’ on-board Loyalty Ambassadors were able to reissue my boarding cards with the higher status and benefits for the second cruise. Regards, Cublet
  2. Hello, I don’t want anyone to go to unnecessary expenditure but this may help. My late brother had MS, closely followed by a stroke that left him confined to a wheelchair. My sister-in-law managed to find ‘quick-change’ part clothing (as in they only had the parts that showed) as might be used by an actor, and fastened mostly out of sight using Velcro. As this was in the UK, I’m sure something similar could be found in the US. Regards, Cublet
  3. Hello, On the .co.uk site, there is mention of the 'Special Gift' (though not defined) both in text under Blue Diamond and in the table, but no conditionality on its presentation. Regards, Cublet
  4. Hello, If, two weeks ago, passengers entered the TSL in 'beach wear' from the sun deck, they would have deserved praise for their hardiness rather than criticism for their dress. Regards, Cublet
  5. Hello, I think Noah might, but it's close. Regards, Cublet
  6. Hello, Here's the most recent thread (almost) relevant to my query. I like round numbers, as I said to the nurse during my medical yesterday as I got on the scales (though I'm not saying what that number was). I have a nice round 1000 C&A points. My Exclusive Crown & Anchor Society November Newsletter today says '1000 Cruise Points - 300 to your next Pinnacle Club Milestone'. Hello? What happened to my (eagerly anticipated) 1050 'Free' (sic) cruise? And what is there at 1300 points that I cannot see on the table? Is it a case of Royal's IT department strikes again, or are changes afoot? Anyone know? Regards, Cublet
  7. Hello, Not all the ABP Horizon's parking is on the same horizontal plane - there are a couple of steep ramps to/within. They many not appear to be steep at first glance, but negotiating them whilst steering a loaded luggage trolley and in the ice is not for the faint hearted. Regards, Cublet
  8. Hello, I think cruisers out of the UK dress more formally on 'formal(ish)' nights than from other ports. Regards, Cublet
  9. Hello, I still dress in a Dinner suit on "Dress your best" night or whatever. And it was only in the previous decade on Eclipse that I saw one chap wearing tails! Regards, Cublet
  10. Hello, I think, but am not sure, the discount on Logo Branded items had a threshold of €50 but I got 15% off on something costing €30. That was all well and good, but I had previously worked-out what I was to buy to use-up my OBC and now had to recalculate it - not the easiest thing to do on the last night after umpteen glasses of Champagne. Regards, Cublet PS: No BD cards either
  11. Hello, Two weeks ago there was a female in TSL wearing what is nowadays called 'Loungewear' but I call pyjamas and another wearing the YC bathrobe and slippers. Sadly, on Formal Night, there were only four of us Gentleman formally attired. But any invitation to '<X> with the Captain/officers' had a suggested dress code of Formal even when it was not on the Formal night causing confusion. Regards, Cublet
  12. I'd pitch a tent on deck for that! Regards, Cublet
  13. Hello, I'm told IT people have left RCI for MSC. Whether that means RCI's IT will improve remains to be seen. Regards, Cublet
  14. Hello, Hamburg, Rotterdam and Zeebrugge (x 2 - Le Havre was closed as the dock workers weren't working). Pre-printed shuttle-bus tickets were left for me to sign and hand-in on the bus but at the published general cost. Regards, Cublet
  15. Hello, I don't know what makes 'Bermuda Shorts' Bermuda shorts. I used to live in Australia and they had things called 'Walk Shorts' that were accepted office-wear. Properly tailored and getting close to the knee, I don't see how anyone could object to them. BTW, I was talking about YC. I've been on P&O and 'No shorts' means 'No Shorts', no 'ifs', no 'buts' - plain 'no'. Regards, Cublet
  16. Hello, It would have been nice to have received the similar on my Preziosa cruise earlier in November. Regards, Cublet
  17. Hello, In the 'rules' sent to me and on the daily programme paper, it said no Bermuda shorts. Whatever are the differences between Bermuda shorts and any other type of shorts BY NAME, they have passed me by. Regards, Cublet
  18. Hello, Very true. But what interested me was the number of 'officers' in what I would call 'civilian operations' dressed in what appeared to be navy 'uniform' and insignia. Regards, Cublet
  19. Hello, They are D, I am BD and got a beach bag or something like. Regards, Cublet
  20. Hello, The two D friends of mine in YC were given a parting gift yesterday - a diffuser and ship's model. Regards, Cublet
  21. Hello, My BD choc bar said Diamond and was in a black wrapper. And I had two of them. So the BD bash had about 30 attendees and a number of officers but no captain (and we are berthed overnight). There was a plate of nuts, crisps and ????? on a plate on each table - I recognised a sausage roll but nothing else. The BD and D areas were separated by a tasseled rope. As time went on, the influx of Ds, about 40, merged with the BDs but to be fair the officers did manage to see all the BD tables. The ‘surprise’ was the dance display shown at the general returnees bash earlier in the week. Unless I’m missing something, MSC does not have a Loyalty Ambassador on board unlike Royal & Celebrity. When I spoke to one of the officers about no invitation to ‘Behind the scenes’ or the free shuttlebus, he said he would talk to the excursions department whereas I would have expected a LA to draw these things together. Regards, Cublet
  22. Hello, I think a possible explanation for the difference(s) in BD delivery is the type of cruise. One with one embarkation and one disembarkation with nothing of the like at the various ports of call to my simple mind is easier to accommodate than this one with people coming and going at every port. I have a couple of friends that are D that boarded with me at Soton and who had heard nothing of their D returnees’ party as of yesterday. It is too early in the day to ask them if anything has changed. Unlike Best Cat Mom my diffuser and ship’s model came together well presented in a big blue box. Regards, Cublet
  23. Hello, If this was the Royal Caribbean site, then OF COURSE Pinnacle status out-ranks Suite status (but only if you’re (American). Regards, Cublet
  24. Hello, I think, Frankenstein-like, the left and right hands are neither from, or on, the same body. Regards, Cublet
  25. Hello, Yesterday, Tues 19th, I received two invites: One ‘Meet & Greet with the Captain/MSC Officers’ and; ‘MSC VC Party for D &BD Members’, to be held consecutively tonight in the Safari Lounge. They are only 30 minutes apart not, depending on numbers, allowing much time for meeting and greeting. Cocktails are mentioned but not munchies though as this will be immediately after dinner (or during given the speed in La Palmeraie!) that doesn’t matter, much. Regards, Cublet
