Hello, Two reasons (1) I’m independent and if I can do something myself I will (2) I didn’t think this was a YC issue but a general one. I think if there’s to be a BD Captain’s bash on 23rd then there was one on 16th - the sea day after setting sail from Southampton, and poor little me got missed (as usual). Regards, Cublet

Hello, I went to reception and asked about my BD Benefits and showed my MyMSC list on my phone. She took my phone and asked a guy to her right. He looked at the phone and the two of them went to another girl on their left. She said the BD & D cocktails with the captain would be on 23rd. That’s fine I said, but I am disembarking on 22nd and today is the last sea day to fit anything in. Frowns and worried looks followed. When I said I was in YC, it was met with “Oh, you’re in YC!?” To my mind it sounded as if this was unexpected and not anticipated. My phone was handed back and I was told I would receive a list of invitations on 20th to D & BD events. But no mention of when the events would take place. Whilst all this was going on, my diffuser and ship’s model appeared in my cabin. Had I not had a drinks package I might be more upset than I am, but I’m not going thirsty. Regards, cublet

Hello, Day three and nothing so far for BD, unless they thought as a YC I didn’t deserve anything more. Two fliers in my room for ‘behind the scenes’ tours and shuttle bus, both with prices to be charged. Nothing similar from VC offering the same at no cost. I could always book and argue about it later but I wasn’t interested in either to be honest. Regards, Cublet

Hello, My VC Membership still expires in three years not five. I am sat staring at a bottle of Prosecco, two bars of dark chocolate and five macaroons. My welcome letter says “we are delighted to offer you” the model ship and diffuser. I’m not clear whether I have to actively accept the ‘offer’ or just wait for it to appear. My BD pin will be presented to me on my next cruise it says. MyMSC has the a list of benefits that, if I was a child of 7yrs, I could copy and paste here, but I am not. There is no mention of a BD cocktail party with Captain or officer only the usual ‘Welcome Back’. Tea, coffee and sugar - I’d kill for a live cow right now. Oh well, another Prosecco will have to do. Hello, I think this is an object lesson on how not to do something well. Apart from giving me, and possibly 1/365th of the world's population, a present - why 7th November? If there is one, a future date when no ships are at sea should have been chosen. The T&Cs published in advance of that date so that anyone affected by the changes could make representations to MSC for an amicable settlement and/or the T&Cs 'refined'. At the same time, those at the sharp-end could be educated not only on the T&Cs but also their interpretation and application such that they are applied uniformly across all ships and not 'made-up' on the hop. Having delivered, Moses like, the new T&Cs on tablets of stone with an immediate 'go-live' date, I can understand MSC's reluctance to backtrack on anything and thereby admit they got it wrong. Hello, I have sympathy with that point of view but MSC could/will point to the T&Cs that say they can amend anything/everything without notice or incurring liability and to which the passengers agreed by making the booking. What follows is a decision that has to be made whether to stick with the T&Cs or maintain a relationship by offering something. As I said earlier, I've never understood how the points system works and the only benefit/reward I've ever used is the Tasting Menu in Butcher's Cut. Regards, Cublet
