  1. MSC still had twice a day service when I sailed on Meraviglia thus past May. Not that I would pick a cruiseline based on once or twice a day service.
  2. Can anyone who had Aurea experience out of Brooklyn explain how priority embarkation is handled ? I assume it is different area then YC ?
  3. #lobstersplaining #lobstershaming. LOL
  4. Certainly no incentive for Carnival Corp to upgrade their POS on HMC anytime soon..
  5. Can I bring my own Hotplate ? I'm thinking of whipping up some scrambled eggs in the morning to save on room service fees.
  6. I could see the value in this. What if I am the only one out of my party of 4 wants a "better quality steak" ? Certainly more cost effective if the other 3 diners are happy with MDR menu that evening.
  7. I've got a question. What if I have 3 in a cabin, Two adults and a 16 year old and book a cabin that doesn't include the drink package..? If we want to purchase a separate Easy drink package for the two adults would we be required to purchase a non-alcoholic drink package for the 16 year old ?
  8. Thinking of purchasing the unlimited dining package for my upcoming cruise on Meraviglia. Quick question. Besides Hola what other restaurants are opened and included for Lunch ?
  9. This is good to know. I'm thinking of sailing on Meraviglia during Super Bowl. Wondering if they do anything special ? I've been on NCL during the big game. They showed the game in multiple venues with "game snacks" etc...
  10. Your money is wanted. They just want it before Feb 1st
  11. Not sure, but you have to figure they will have to provision the Canada cruises out of Brooklyn. Princess and Cunard do that when they sail out of Brooklyn.
  12. Great. Will Royal cook them up if I bring "um onboard ?
  13. To OP. There are some really good YouTube videos on Venezia. I've been watching a bunch in anticipation of my October cruise.
  14. Wow that sucks..Brooklyn cruise terminal is the worst. Traffic around the port is a nightmare. To me it appears that the terminal is not suited to handle a ship with 5K plus passengers. Really wish they homeported out of NYC. I'm sure NYC officials sold MSC a story on how Brooklyn terminal will have no issues handling that many passengers and vehicles. Doesn't Princess depart from Brooklyn in the Fall ? What's going to happen on Sundays when parking lot (at $45.00 a day) is filled on Saturday by Princess cruisers ? I'm taking one more shot due to getting such a low fare for YC. Fingers crossed
  15. Lol if I see any I'll make them "walk the plank" don't you know. Just like those scallywags I saw trying to sneak into Havana area on the Horizon circa summer of 2018
  16. Thanks for the info. I've heard that YC many folks on C.C say they would only sail MSC in a YC cabin or suite. Looking most forward to the express check in at the pier. In May the check-in process for us commoners in steerage took 3 hours. To say check-in at Brooklyn Terminal is a disaster is an understatement to say the least.
  17. Lol. I'm going to give them one more shot. Feb in an interior YC cabin. Hoping the food quality, service and all those uncrowded exclusive YC areas will make for a much better cruise experience then I had in a regular cabin in May. I do not fly. Only cruise from NY/NJ . Fed up with NCL and all their B.S. So Glad Carnival is homeporting out of NYC the next year and a half. I'm on Venezia in October. Looking at booking Venezia a few more times before heads down to Fla. December 2024
  18. I was basing my comparison on my 2/4 booking at just under $2700.00 all in for the two of us. When you did your math you forgot that MSC YC comes with unlimited premium WIFI for two devices. So you would need to deduct that from your 600 difference. I agree best way to compare apples to apple's is to compare same sailing date similar itineraries and similar ship. I still love Carnival the best and looking forward to our 9 night on the Venezia this Oct. I sallied MSC out of Brooklyn this May in "gen pop" After that I decided I would only sail MSC again in YC...
  19. I was referring to MSC Meraviglia out of NY. We booked 2/4/24 7 night in a YC interior. Under $2700.00all in for the two of us. Including premium wifi and premium drink package. Looks like interiors for that sailing are sold out. Only YC balconies and above.
  20. Take a look at a YC interior . It's a more affordable option with all the YC benefits. Same principle as upgrading to a Havana interior vs a standard interior on Carnival. On MSC I'd rather be in a YC interior vs. a Balcony in "gen-pop"
  21. Great job mking8288 explaining all the lovely changes that NCL has instilled...lol I guess NCL figures they only need 1 ship out of NYC this Winter with MSC and Carnival both Homeported year round in NY and doing those "milky runs"
  22. Carnival's Loyalty program comes complete with a fun onboard scavenger hunt to locate and obtain all your benefits/gifts ??
