  1. Ship -- Edge Length of Cruise --10 days (Mediterranean) Cruise sail date -- 09/20/19 Date received e-mail offer -- 08/31/19 (it might have been about a few days or 1 week earlier) Captains club tier - bottom (1st Celebrity cruise) Booked through -- TA (ID 90 Travel) but we bid directly with cruiseline Current Cabin -- Aqua Class (A-1) Bid -- yes Cabin category -- Sky Suite (we are under rear portion of Magic Carpet but, hey, it's still a suite with suite privileges) Bid -- $500 per person (the minimum allowed on bid) Notification Date -- 09/09/19 Denied/Accepted - Accepted!
  2. For the 09/20/19 Celebrity Edge sailing out of Civitavecchia do we catch the shuttle bus to the ship at Fort Michelangelo? Just want to make sure we are going to the right place. Thank you.
  3. To get to the Celebrity Edge in Civitevecchia do we catch a shuttle bus at Fort Michelangelo? Just want to make sure we are going to the right place for our 09/20/19 departure. Thank you.
  4. Do Sky Suite passengers get the same level of access to the SEA Thermal Suites as Aqua class passengers? I'm currently booked in Aqua Class but submitted a minimal bid on a sky suite. I'd be shocked to get the suite but I am wondering how, if I do get the sky suite, that affects access to the SEA Thermal suites.

There I was, just chillin' when in walks a cruiser from his swim, standing there in his swim shorts, dripping wet and no towel. Uh, oh!
  6. Celebrity’s description doesn’t help me visualize what this is.
  7. Hey, Shadow! Thank you so much for telling us about this video. It's great. Without it I probably would have crossed that 1st stone bridge and gotten myself all turned around and confused. LOL.
  8. I expect that you will get some good recommendations from fellow cruisecritic members. I cannot provide any because my first ever visit to Venice is still a few months in the future. I am contributing this comment only as a matter of perspective. Given that you are treating your daughter and son-in-law to a trip to Venice, the mere fact that they are there (at your expense) would make their tenth anniversary absolutely unforgettable, no matter which restaurant you choose. Just saying, hey, you're doing a great job of making their anniversary extremely special. Let us know if you are looking to adopt. 😉
  9. Are you using a MAC or a PC? It still doesn't work for me and I am SURE that I am selecting the Edge.
  10. Thank you, PTCruizer, for that nice review. You remind me of us. I am the compulsive researcher and planner. My wife, not at all. My rationale for the way I am is this: Vacations are relatively rare. I want to make them as good as they can be. That means no major glitches or disappointments, less vacation stress and more opportunity to just enjoy the events. Besides, as the planner I get to plan what I like (though I do ask for wifey's input, of course). My wife is a flight attendant. So, we will be flying standby to Italy, hopefully to Venice a few days ahead of the cruise departure date. We last cruised the Med in 2013, with out two young adult children. We also flew into Milan because flights to Rome did not appear good for standbys. But, that Milan entry afforded us the pleasure of our first high speed train ride in Europe. We, too, get to Civitavecchia the day BEFORE the cruise. Much more relaxed that way. I will look into dinner at Di Vitale. Take care. Again, thanks.
  11. Hi, to those with cruises booked on Celebrity Edge. Please tell me if you know. Can we still access the Edge's deck plans on their Celebrity's website? A few days ago I could go to their site, click on "MENU," click on "Ships," click on "Celebrity Eclipse," scroll down to "Deck Plans" and examine the Edge's various decks. No longer. It appears that Celebrity's website is messed up in this regard or they've changed their website in a way that no longer shows the deck plans. Do you see this as well?
  12. P.S. I have also posted this question in the ports of call section.
  13. Hi, Celebrity cruisers. If you have cruised to Naples, Italy and if you have recently gone on Celebrity's "Taste of Sorrento and Pompeii" tour, please tell me about your experience. I have booked it but I'm wondering whether I should try to put together a small private tour. Would you recommend Celebrity's tour? Do they use large busses and big groups? Your input would be much appreciated. Thank you.
  14. Thanks, Denie, for posting this suggestion for Hotel Olimpia. I have this room booked for a couple of pre-cruise days. The location is great because it allowed us to book a sedan pick-up from the airport with drop-off at Piazalle Roma. We need only take a few steps, cross one bridge with our luggage and we're at the hotel. This was an especially good location for us because we are booked on an early, 7:30 a.m. train to Rome on the 3rd day and I see that it is a very short walk with our luggage to the train station. I, too, plan to post a review once we return from our trip (or, perhaps, even during our trip). Actually, we'll be there before you and will be able to tell you all about it. Enjoy your stay!
