  1. The décor is artistic, not pin-up. The ship was very easy to get around, and the public spaces seemed well laid out. I rarely felt crowded. We were forward on Deck 4 and felt that everywhere we wanted to go was easily accessible via the stairs or a nearby elevator.
  2. You can do San Gervasio on your own, if you don't want to take a tour. We like visiting ruins and had a taxi driver take us, prices are on the taxi stands. The driver waits and brings you back. It's a lot of walking and the ruins are not as spectacular as other sights. You can purchase the services of a guide, but we just used the provided maps. We've visited Paradise Beach a couple times as well, it's fun. If you dock right downtown, the people watching is usually good.
  3. We just did this tour and had a great time. They take you out right from the property. We went a little past the Fantasy Island resort and then entered the water with the guide. I'm not an experienced snorkeler, a decent swimmer. The guide, Alex set an easy pace and pointed out lots of sights to us. We saw blue tang, a barracuda, sergeant fish, and many more. I would guess that we were in the water for 45 minutes or so, but I'm really not sure The boat (captained by Daniel) was never very far away either. The people at the Hangout were all very nice, it was our favorite excursion on that cruise.
  4. We're just back from a visit to Roatan and went to Daniel Johnson's. I can't say enough good things about our visit there. We saw the sloths and monkeys and then went snorkeling. We were cold and wet, it was raining like crazy and cool for them, so we just went back to the ship, but the driver would have taken us wherever we wished. Everyone there was very nice and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
  5. We just got back from a cruise that stopped at Roatan. I would definitely contact Daniel Johnson’s monkey and sloth hangout. We had a great time there and they offer beach time and snorkeling in addition to the monkeys and sloths. Everyone involved was very friendly and we saw them interact with small children. Daniel and his team made sure we had a great day! https://monkeyandslothhangout.com/home/
  6. On at least one of the Cruise Elegant nights there is usually an opportunity to meet the Captain somewhere on the ship for a photo and a quick word.
  7. I'm so sorry. We've had fog issues 2x in Tampa and that is no fun. I hope that you are able to enjoy your cruise.
  8. We felt that Glacier Bay was the highlight of our cruise, a 7 night round-trip from Seattle, on Holland America. I don't think the Carnival ships have permits to go there. HAL will give you 1-star status because you are a past cruiser with another line in the Carnival family. In addition, a weekend departure made more sense for us. We love Carnival and are headed to the Western Caribbean this weekend, but Alaska might be a destination where you might want to look at other options. If we can go again, I might look at a Vancouver departure, since a Seattle departure requires a stop in Canada to fulfill requirements and ours was so short that you really could not do much.
  9. I just remembered that I booked with a 10% off code, maybe that factored in to the decision too. Regardless, best of luck to others in their price-match efforts!!
  10. The response I received was from Scott too. I’m not going to re-submit. I’d hate to ruin this for everyone else by trying to get $22 OBC and making Scott mad. 🤣
  11. Thank you for your review and the beautiful pictures.
  12. We've climbed one of the temples at Uxmal a couple times, but this looks a little higher (plus if your guide at Uxmal takes you in from the side you can start half-way up). We're really looking forward to this excursion, it's one of the primary reasons that we booked this trip.
  13. I thought so, I was already happy with my purchase - given the duration and distance from the port of the excursion, I wanted to use a shop's tour anyway, I just figure it was worth a few minutes of my time to see if I would qualify for the credit.
  14. I tried to price match for this one, but was denied. I still think it was worth a try, but thought I'd share.
