Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. My understanding from his statements is if you don’t have an accessible cabin, the scooter needs to be collapsible so it would fit under the bed. It cannot block your access out of the cabin in event of emergency.
  2. I really like this Passions area idea. We cruise the end of May and our ship gets in at 1pm. There are 2 other ships in port that day. Between them and the resorts I wonder if it is even worth trying this area? My wife has mobility issues and we can't be walking up and down the beach looking for a spot. I'm hoping by the time we get there that the passengers from the other ships are starting to head back, but I hadn't thought about the resort guests. Last time we were in Aruba our taxi driver to us to the southern part of Eagle Beach and we rented some chairs. It worked out pretty well but we had gotten there early so not sure how it would be mid-afternoon.
  3. I had called them to add the DBP to me (since my wife don’t drink alcohol) and they accidentally put DBP on my wife. When I called back to get it moved they refunded the original order and placed a new order with my name on. I would have thought if they could have just change the name they would have. I don’t know if it is same for the refreshment package but the same system limitation may exist.
  4. On Vista, we are looking at Havana interior (either 5229 or 5230). These are right by where the band plays and I was wondering if there is a lot of band noise late at night? We have a hold on 2 cabins right now and I’m having a real hard time deciding whether to book the Havana or not, the “private” area looks really appealing but the extra $1200 (for 1 Cabana and 1 Interior) has me hesitant to pull the trigger.
  5. Thank you for your reply. Do they do the same Hibachi style “show” at lunch time?
  6. Is there a difference in lunch vs dinner? The sample menu looks the same but the price is about $23 pp cheaper for lunch. If it is the same experience, I’d gladly take lunch there to save $100 for our family of 4. Thanks.
  7. I see a lot of info out there for MCO but not so much for SFB. We are looking at flying Allegiant into and out of SFB. Our cruise returns on a Sunday. I know it takes about 1:15 to get from Port Canaveral to SFB. I'm trying to determine if a 12:15pm departure would be doable. We will likely do Uber or if the surge pricing is too much we will take a shuttle over to Avis and do a rental.
  8. Wish a 4 person accessible balcony was an option but as we recently discovered, Carnival has very limited 4 person accessible cabins on some of their ships and none on others. Neither our upcoming Mardi Gras or Vista even offer 4 person accessible rooms. We will make do, I just found it interesting that this person was able to park theirs at guest services, even though it’s not an option.
  9. I actually wish that was an offered option but I have been told it is not, it's interesting that they did this after leaving it in the hall. Our next cruise I found a scooter that collapses but am still worried about it fitting in our room (Mardi Gras Balcony with 4 people so the bed is closer to the door). I even asked John Heald and he said they didn't have a place to store them by guest services that we could park and retrieve each night.
  10. On my last cruise I bought the tumbler and used it everywhere.I will say though that I don’t think the bartenders put in extra alcohol, just extra ice and mix. If they grabbed the premixed drinks then of course got a bit more alchohol.
  11. But you should see some “Welcome Home” offers in the portal within a few days of returning. Honestly I’ve not found them to be great offers but I usually check them out.
  12. We have had hit and miss results. Sometimes it will work for a few days and then just stop working and then a day or so later it might work again. I wouldn’t depend on it if needed.
  13. We are going to be going on Legend out of Baltimore in a few weeks, we have never cruised out of Baltimore and I just recently heard someone mention that the ship usually gets into port a little later/boards a little later than other ports. What is usually the earliest available "check in" time? Also what time are you usually off the ship by? Thanks.
