  1. Can anyone please tell me what is in the area on Deck 10 above the Lido Buffet. It can easily be reached by the stairs in the back end of the buffet (where the desserts are). In the past this has been a Pasta Bella and a BBQ place among others. I've seen deck plans where it is listed as Emilie's, but I think that's really the buffet on deck 9. Also have seen it listed as Fish & Chips, but can't really find any information on that. Thanks for any help
  2. You say by email?? You did not use the new Stockperks system??
  3. Anyone used the Stockperks app to request this perk?? I emailed like normal, then received a reply telling me to download the app and submit that way
  4. Enterprise has a location in Kona that is non-airport. They service the pier, and will pick you up if you make arrangements.
  5. I was in a similar situation. When I called I was told that it was for new bookings only.
  6. OK sweet, they changed to the Spin Game, same result but at least I can see what I'm not winning!!
  7. Anyone have experience or ideas on how to get to and from Kona Country Club from the tender pier?? I see there is an Enterprise Car rental not at the airport, but don't know if that's a walkable thing or not (looks like around 4 blocks, but not sure if its safe, or if the route is open??)
  8. OK, so having a restaurant dedicated to fixed-time diners does not impact My Time diners. There are no table assignments (unless you request being sat at the same table with the same staff). I haven't sat at a table with random strangers since 2011. While your Formal Night observation is correct, they have greatly relaxed the dress code. Dress up if you'd like, but dress as you normally would if you don't want to dress up. You won't be turned away unless you are in a t-shirt and flip flops!!
  9. I didn't win, but they had the scratch off game this morning??? I don't remember seeing the automatic 50 points for logging in though???
  10. I just don't understand??? I have cruised recently (within the last year) on both Carnival and Royal Caribbean. They both offer similar Freestyle dining options (Carnival is called Your Time Dining) and Royal is called My Time Dining). Both have entire restaurants dedicated to accommodating those guests. You can just show up and be seated when a table opens up, or you can reserve a time. What is different about Freestyle Dining??
  11. I'm taking my first NCL cruise in October and we booked using NCL Air. Recently received our flight info and I couldn't be happier. I got my flight info about 60 days out, which was earlier than I expected, the flights were great with enough layover time to not have to rush, but not so much that I feel like I'm wasting time. Most importantly, I saved over $1000!! Flying from Louisiana to Hawaii. As a previous poster said, we took a 2 day deviation. I would definitely recommend this.
  12. Hi Greg, happy to see another of your reviews. I'm curious to see what you find to replace the Alchemy???
  13. Well not NCL, but we heard from our TA yesterday and she just informed us to be ready in case changes are made. We sail Oct 21st, so still a bit of time, but was happy to see her at least acknowledge the issue. Of course she can't predict the future nor tell us what she doesn't know, but it was comforting to hear from her
  14. We just received our flight info for our October POA cruise. This is the first time we let the Cruiseline arrange our flight for us and I was pretty nervous. But we got great flights, we couldn't have booked any better for ourselves. Saved over $1000 too!! I'm happy, happy, happy!!
  15. Organized Chaos, you win!!! They changed the thread name!!
  16. How strange, but see where there are Carnival gift cards available. 8% off
  17. Me too, reading a lot of conflicting reviews and information. Hoping someone can give us some accurate details
  18. Is this the Kam Kam beach?? Have heard its a good little spot and have heard its not worth it!! Do you have an opinion?? We are still not sure what we will be doing in Kona, so a beach this close would be great!! TIA
  19. Pac Man gone, replaced by Bubble Shooter!!!
  20. Yep me too, blank white page after I log on. Both yesterday and today!!
  21. Well hell, not sure how to take that?? Again, it's only a time killer until our excursion starts a little later. So locals don't use this beach because it sucks?? Because they have better options?? Because it's the backside of a resort?? Because there is a reasonable chance a sea monster will eat me??(LOL, just through this one in for a gigle)
  22. Thanks for that explanation Scott. Now it makes a little more sense to me. I think the only plans we have that aren't with tour guides is to visit Kam Kam beach, next to the tender pier in Kona. I think that one is OK??
  23. Didn't know that locals claimed some area as their own. This is the first I hear of anything but a friendly, welcoming people. Could you share more on these "local only" areas? Is there a list of them somewhere?? We are of the generally adventurous type and we would hate to accidently stumble upon one of these!
