  1. Yes, they have booths. We are a family of four and we sit there comfortably. There were six of us once and we simply got two booths that were next to each other. I believe we sat at table (booth) 370 in the back of the dining room on level 3. Also, if memory serves me correctly, I think there was also a U shaped booth that may have held more than 4.

  2. I won't even sail on a ship that doesn't have a steakhouse. I think we've been about four times and each time has been great. The only not so nice thing I can think of is one time my French onion soup was overcooked but, after bringing it to their attention, the staff offered (almost begged) me to select something else on the menu. Plus we've always had very good, personable service. The dining experience itself is worth every penny.

Oh, I forgot...the desserts... I was leery about ordering the cheesecake because of all the comments I'd read on CC but I really enjoyed it. Although I did not care for the chocolate sampler or the apple puff thingy.

I'm so ready to be back at the steakhouse again.

  3. My family and I cruised last Thanksgiving on the Pride. I believe the Asst. Cruise Director said there were about 900 kids on board; my husband said that he said there were 850 kids but either way it was a lot more than we are used to traveling with. Two were ours. I did not feel over run by kids and I would do another TG cruise in a heartbeat. There were a few kids, no more than 10, that stood out because they were trying to show off for their friends. However, it was the same kids each time that were the problem. And it was not like they were running rampant all over the ship. They pretty much hung out in the same, isolated area of the ship. There were two incidents that stood out for me. One incident in MDR where a waiter was at his wits end because this multi-generational family decided to seat their kids, about 8 of them, at their own table while the adults sat a separate table. Although the tables were right next to each other, the adults totally ignored the little ones and pretty much let them do whatever they wanted to do. Yes, they were a nuisance but they did not ruin my dinner at all. The second is when three teenagers were running thru the Steakhouse. My husband said something to the staff but they said they couldn’t say or do anything about it. So my husband told the boys that this was not a play area and that they needed to stop running thru the restaurant. They stopped and were very respectful to hubby every they saw him on the ship. We usually travel non-peak time but I’m looking forward to cruising again over the Thanksgiving holiday.

  4. Deadman's Reef is great. If you go to their website, there's a form you can fill out and have the owner, Barry, contact you directly. He is really nice and they pick you and drop you off back at the port. They drop you off back at the port in time for you to do shopping if you want. Plus the food a Deadman is really good and reasonable. I too want to stay in one of the houses on his beach.

  5. Thank you! Do you recall much vibration in that room? I know the Pride is known for it.....

I don't remember feeling too much vibration in the room. The weather was horrible for a part of my April cruise and lots of people, including crew, were sick with all the rockiness of the boat. It didn't bother us at all but none of us have issues with seasickness (at least we haven't in the past.) I'm so ready to book this cabin again.

  6. We booked cabin 6232 for next year! It is one of the rooms with a huge balcony! Can anyone tell me about the room? Share photos? Also, was there noise due to the elevators being close? Is there anything bad that I need to know about the location?

We stayed in that cabin twice last year. The pictures you see online are accurate. I usually travel with my family of four and we will continue to book this cabin EVERY time we travel on the Pride. The balcony had two lounge chairs that recline back, of course. And, three regular chairs (one had a reclining back) and a small table. As for noise, the elevator was not an issue at all. (This was one of my concerns before I booked.) However, this cabin is next to a crew area where they were washing big pots and pans. When we cruised in April, we heard some banging and clanging from that room. It kind of bothered my husband a bit but the rest of us were fine. But when we cruised in November, I didn't hear any noise at all from the crew area. Also my November trip was a Thanksgiving cruise so the ship was more crowded but we still heard no noise from the elevator. Another thing I like about this room is the location. For some reason we tend to eat in the MDR for brunch, afternoon tea and dinner almost daily. The elevator right near the MDR is the one that's right near 6232 so it's not a lot of traveling around the ship to get to dinner. Hope this helps.

  7. I have never sailed before in a balcony room. This would be my DH 2nd cruise and DS 1st cruise. I would like a balcony since DH & I can sit outside if DS crashes early at night. He is 9 but goes to bed at 8 pm normally and if tired he doesn't hesitate to hit bed at 8 pm.

So- yes, balcony will be booked but I just don't know if extended it worth it the extra $. And If so, even extra for an aft? We are looking into booking the Pride if that makes any difference.

Thanks for your personal input on pros and cons!!

I love the extended balcony on the Pride but I must confess that I've never booked a regular one. I got spoiled with the extended one and don't think I could do a regular balcony. We are a family of 4 and spend a lot of time on the balcony and we don't feel cramped. That being said try to book cabin 6232. It's the "bowling alley" balcony and there are many pictures of it on this site. Enjoy!!!

  8. We were just on the Pride and my 11 y.o. daughter (3 months shy of 12) was moved up to the 12-14 y.o. group. I was skeptical about requesting the change because I read on numerous occasions that they do not move move kids up. I started with Guest Services and they referred me to the director of Camp Carnival. The director wasn't available when I went to the Camp but her assistants were. They looked at my daughter and then looked up her info (i.e. her DOB) and said it was no problem moving her to the next age group. They filled out a slip, signed it, and told me to take it the counselor at Circle C. She had a ball in that club. Circle C and Club O2 did quite a few activities together.

  9. We just got off the Pride earlier today. They told us yesterday afternoon that we would be delayed getting back to Baltimore because of strong winds and undercurrent. I think we arrived back a little after 10am but I didn't get off the ship until almost 11:30 and we were in debarkation zone 1. We were even delayed leaving out on 11/24 because the prior cruise encountered the same delays.

  10. I've eaten at Oh Andros (in Nov 2010) and Twin Brothers (Nov 2013) and I like Oh Andros much better than Twin Brothers. You get bigger portions at Oh Andros and the food is tastier to me. However, the service was faster at Twin Brothers even though it was slightly crowded. Next time I will stick with Oh Andros.

  11. Thanks for the input. Did you notice the kayaks at all? I was wondering if they are the clear bottom kind and if you could get close to the reef with them? I will be there in Jan. like the other poster and am pretty sure I will be too cold to snorkel.

Yes, I saw the kayaks but I'm not sure if they had a clear bottom. We were there on 11/29 and I was concerned about the water temps too. When we first got in the water was a little chilly but not unbearable. We got used to it quickly and it was really warm the farther out we went. We did not need wet suits at all but they do have them for rent.

  12. We just got off the Pride and we did Deadman's. We were met at the port at 8am by their driver and we got back to the port by 12:30. We had enough time to snorkel and to have lunch on the beach. By the way, the grouper fingers and cracked conch was better there than at Twin Brothers in Nassau. They are really good at keeping track of time so they get you back at the port in plenty of time. We will definitely book with them again. If you have more questions, contact Barry directly and he will chat with you over the phone.

  13. It looks just like the magnet we had in our cabin from my daughter's birthday decorations. It can be hard to remove all the decorations when you are taking that stuff down. I know I couldn't get it off the ceiling when I tried. Or, I wonder if this is standard in cabins to help the staff be able to put up the decorations. By the way and out of curiosity, were you in cabin 6232 ;)

  14. Does anyone know if this is really the menu?

This is was what John Heald posted on his Facebook page. I'm wondering will they still have the Every Day menu as well. That's the one from which my 15 y.o. usually eats. If not, I guess she will have to get pizza or something else from the Lido. She loves getting dressed to go to the MDR but is a boring eater.
