  1. I think you did a beautiful job! Top stitching in gold sounds very nice.
  2. I have had that same thing happen many times. It has never been an issue. I think that is just how the airlines do things.
  3. I am pretty sure they had Seagram's when we were on.
  4. We have sailed on the Koningsdam 5 times. We have always had a balcony cabin and we have always just had 2 chairs and usually one footstool. Never a chaise lounge.
  5. I hope the crew are serving in the buffet. That is what HAL does and it works great. I like the idea that I don't have to worry that the person ahead of me hasn't washed their hands after using the bathroom. Or that they licked their fingers and then touched the serving utensils. So when I saw the pictures of staff serving I was happy.
  6. Chair hogs are not only on cruise ships. We were just at an all inclusive resort and the chair hogs were out in force there too. There were signs saying it wasn't allowed, but there didn't seem to be any policing of the policy.
  7. We just got our OBC through Stockperks. It was simple and quick, We did not have to give out any personal information like passwords to our account. All they asked was the broker name. Basically I took a photo of our brokerage statement, blacked out most of the info except our names and the CCL stock listing. Uploaded the picture . They responded a day or two later saying it had been verified and asked us where we wanted it applied to. We gave them our booking number and a day or two later the OBC was in our account. Very easy. No different than faxing or emailing the same info.
  8. We are doing the reverse, taking the transfer from Victoria Bus terminal to the ship. It says "Victoria Bus station". Our transfer at the end of the cruise is to the airport. It says to LHR/LGA airport. So I think you should call and make sure you have the correct one booked.
  9. Princess needs to get rid of the Grand. We were on her about 10 years ago and she was in rough shape then. We were in the mid aft area and our whole area lost power for a few hours several times. There were leaking pipes in our hallway, with multiple buckets catching drips. They had big industrial fans blowing to dry the carpets. The whole area stunk of sewage. We said then that we would never sail on the Grand again.
  10. I got an email saying my stock ownership has been verified and to go to the app to "explore and redeem my perks". When I go to the app and pick CCL, and then Princess. the button to push to "redeem perk" is greyed out and doesn't work. Any ideas?
  11. When we were on our last Princess cruise, they had a paper airplane contest in the piazza. You had to fly your plane through a big hoop. They did other fun games too. Giant Jenga ,trivia that was officers vs passengers, egg drop, and others.
  12. That is a nice and very useful carry case. I made something similar to hold a kite for my husband. The kite disassembles somewhat but he needed a way to carry it on our last cruise to the Caribbean. We were going to Puerto Rico, and he had always wanted to fly a kite on the grounds leading to El Moro. So I used some fabric I had lying around and a bit of Velcro, and voila, I had a kite bag. It worked perfectly and he got to fly his kite at El Moro.
  13. Yes, they do now. We have ours ordered for our next cruise.
  14. As a 4 star you get 50% off specialty dining too. You will probably get an invitation to a wine tasting.
  15. What we have seen on Princess on formal nights: Very few tuxedos, some men in a suit, a few more men in slacks and a sport coat, some with a tie, many without. Many men are in slacks and a dress shirt, again some with a tie and some without. My husband does the dress pant and shirt with a tie version. We sail on HAL and Princess and we see the same dress on both lines.
  16. We sailed the Med in December once, and we have also been there in October and November. In December we never needed heavy warm clothing. At most we wore a light jacket or hoody. I wore capris and my husband wore shorts. We spent several days in Rome and Florence before our cruise and were very comfortable in those clothing choices for on land and on the cruise. I will say, we are Canadian so are used to cooler temperatures at times. Coming from Florida you may find it very different. Probably think layers, so you can add or subtract as needed.
  17. It is not only HAL that has seen a drop in quality in their steak house. We ate in the Crown Grill on Princess recently. It is Princess' version of the Pinnacle. The steak my husband had there and the lamb chops I had were both dry and tough.(ordered medium rare). Service was terrible too. I think they were very short staffed, so the staff had no chance to do a good job.
  18. Thanks everyone for your input. Much appreciated.
  19. Does anyone know for sure if the mid-forward Premium Deluxe balconies on Dolphin deck on the Sky are partially covered or fully uncovered? The cabins are between D 145 and D227. Would really appreciate the info before I commit to booking one of them. Thanks
  20. Black and white is fine. No need for colour. My laser printer only does black and white and that's been fine for all our cruises.
  21. I don't know why Princess does refunds this way. We sail on HAL and they refund your credit card as soon as the cruise is over. On Princess we got a check 2 months after the cruise.
  22. A plain, simple, "little black dress" is always appropriate. It can be dressed up or down depending on what you accessorize it with. Jewelry, scarves, shawls, shoes, can all change how the dress looks. My last cruise I took one black dress (very simple style) and wore it several times.
