  1. I have read a number of threads recommending a mini-bus if we'd like to go to Horseshoe Bay Beach, but none (that I found, of course) mentioned how long the ride is. Also, we have a group of 11 - would we all fit on one of the mini-buses?
  2. We got a late start our day in port (November 2016), but headed over to Carambola around 11am. By then it appeared all of the chairs were taken. So, we walked a little bit down the beach and just put down our towels. A few others did the same. We were in the water 95% of the time so that was fine for us. Plus, we were practically alone in the water. I wasn't anticipating just how many people would be there.
  3. The resort guests were among us and we rented our chairs from a gentleman working for the resort. He told us where the restaurant and rest rooms were. There were a few locals sitting nearby selling drinks or getting food for guests. Besides the hotel, some of the other places along the beach weren't as picturesque. For instance, there were some run down public restrooms a bit further down. Nothing to feel unsafe or take away from the experience. I just wanted to give a full description.
  4. I don't think so. She did see an octopus in St Kitts which made her week! :)
  5. She did! It was her first time snorkeling. She told us that she saw different colored fish as well as a fish with a "nose" like a swordfish.
  6. We were just at Emerald Bay beach two days ago. The taxi costs $4/pp from Crown Bay. We got four chairs in the shade for $7/chair. The restrooms were clean. We also bought bottled water from a vendor on the beach for $2/bottle. The water and sand were beautiful. The surrounding areas left a bit to be desired. My daughter snorkeled for about an hour by rocks at the edge of the cove.

  8. I'm really enjoying your review and that lobster roll had my mouth watering!!
  9. The balcony discount is greater too between Platinum and Emerald. I think $25 more off.
  10. There is no harm in calling to ask. It only takes them a minute to check and give you the better price if there is one.
  11. What did you do with the Seapass cards? I've been wondering if the kids need land yards to hold them or do I carry theirs around?
  12. We're going on our first family cruise too. An idea I saw was to bring blow-up balls for the kids to play with in the room or on the beach. I thought that was a great idea since they won't take up room.
  13. Thanks for your thoughts on the breakfast. I have been considering it. At first I thought only my husband and I had to pay and thought that was great. But, then I learned only children under 5 were free. So, I really needed to weigh if it was worth $50 as my kids may be on the older side for characters - they will be 10, 8, and 8. If there are only 3 characters, I don't think we'll book. Thanks! You just saved me money!
  14. I wanted to thank you so much for all the work you did to put this together. It was REALLY helpful!
