  1. On Deck 2 in our location it was super quiet. I wish i had as good of news for the casino smoke however. I’m a bit more sensitive with asthma, but I could smell it pretty significantly as far away as the Centrum. As a result, I never wandered into the casino. My wife and friend did go to gamble and they felt the casino itself was pretty miserable. So, your mileage may vary on the smoke you notice.
  2. Nope - she's on May 2 - cruising to Maui and Victoria. My solution (even when I have a balcony cabin) is to enjoy space up on deck. SO much quiet space available - with a lot more view.
  3. I'm with Tree - you can pick it up pretty quick if you are athletic. Some of the fun is learning with the crew over the course of your cruise. But if the cost is not something you worry about - go for it. I never took a lesson and this 48 year old does ok now... I also agree - the youngs have fun at our expense on occasion, but eventually we all pull for each other in whatever new trick it is the individual is trying to master.
  4. Scroll further down for a more recent update: Tuesday, February 26, 2019, 9:50 AM HSTActivity Summary: Kīlauea Volcano is not erupting. Rates of seismicity, deformation, and gas emissions have not changed significantly over the past week.Observations: Geophysical and geologic data indicate no significant change with volcanic activity. Low rates of seismicity continue across the volcano, with earthquakes occurring primarily in the summit and south flank regions. GPS stations and tiltmeters continue to show motions consistent with refilling of the deep East Rift Zone magma reservoir. Sulfur dioxide emission rates from the summit and from Puʻu ʻŌʻō remain low. These rates have been steady over the past several weeks.

  6. Fair enough in terminology - not dormant - but neither is the volcano active currently. 7. I am on this cruise and am the dissenting opinion for those of my fellow passengers. While I won't get to a day on the big island and I won't get to see the Napali Coast in a sail by (why not this over a dormant volcano at 9 PM?), I am happy with the extra time this affords us in Oahu. And for my travel party - part of the allure of this trip was a ship we love (we have sailed on Anthem) that touches Hawaii, but gives us many sea days (bring on the FlowRider time and relaxation!). Whining and crying about this is kind of silly - but everyone has their own perspective. Mine is - I got a GREAT price on a cruise - and it just got better with one day refunded to me!
  8. I have done two cruises this year (one in June, one in December). One was a Sunday departure, one a Thursday. I did not encounter a 2 night minimum requirement in either case.
  9. We too were on this cruise. For a 4 day cruise I expected so little (I am always 7 or more) but was really impressed. The ship is in decent shape and the staff did not at all seem like second string, prepping for the prime time. The only steak I had was in the steakhouse and oh my goodness that new menu is fantastic - and the steak there was phenomenal. Glad you had a nice time - I will certainly thumbs up your comedy observations - anyone onboard that missed the one show in particular that Sebastian just never got to his set list missed out. I have not laughed so hard in my life. Good times - back to reality!
