  1. Great review so far!!! These rolled out shortly before the pandemic on some ships. I agree they need more and they should be used more by cruisers!!!!
  2. For those of us who had the T/A cancelled. I had a friend on the Celebration T/A and he and his family were extremely let down. I heard during the crossing the ship didn't have near enough supplies and bars were depleted a couple days into the crossing. He also said the "vibe" on the ship was billed a celebratory (no pun intended) sailing, but felt none of that. This opinion was, according to him , shared by many on the ship. I take him at his word as he has always been upfront about everything. My first impression when I got my cancellation notice was twofold: 1- There was a glitch in pricing at somepoint and fare went from the original $3000+ down to $500 for an extended balcony on the port side. 2- They had too many complaints from the Celebration crossing and decided it wasn't worth going through that again. I am not saying either of those are "real", just my first impressions. I truly believe we will never know the real reason as it looks like the Jubilee is moving along nicely.
  3. Yes. You will meet with all B2B cruisers, get off, go through customs then back on to the ship. No need to pack up. I will be doing this over NYE.
  4. Wow 19 cruises in and I should have known to look there. Thanks though!!!!!
  5. Hi All. Just booked the Celebration for August and this thread is really helpful. Does anyone have a pic of the menu?
  6. This is for fun only. I was reading an article about Disney cruises and they have a slide that kids can take that brings them to the kids club. Wouldn't it be fun is Carnival had that for the Alchemy Bar and/or Red Frog pub!!!!
  7. Okay, I have done the Chef's Table often over the past 10 years. As everything else, the price has gone, and the quality has gone done (somewhat). The meals are still good, just instead of filet mignon they did a strip, and other similar changes. Here is the menu from the Magic in August. I will also note that, while wine is included, it was not as free flowing as in the past. I had to flag down the sommelier for additional pours several times.
  8. Happy belated anniversary!!! So you guys got Married when you were like 5 years old? Looking great for a 35th anniversary couple!!!!
  9. Okay so your mileage may vary here. I did this last August while on the Horizon. Myself (solo cruiser) and a couple that I made friends with during the cruise were at the resort. The facilities were okay at best. Loungers were old and several torn and dirty (maybe they upgraded them once they started getting visitors again). The reef out in front of the resort was dead, snorkeling was not great. Limited options for the inclusive drinks. Food was solid for sure, that was the only thing I can positive about it along with Mama's great personality.
  10. If I didn't have the Jubilee TA booked next year, I would have tried my best to get on the Transpacific, definitely. But then again I think Guys Burgers are way overrated, so that is a non-concern for me.
  11. I sailed 8/11 and had an early time. Yes it was quicker but embarkation is still very disorganized in NYC. Different people telling us to go to one spot, then getting yelled at to go to another, it was a rough start to my trip for sure! I don't think it has been improved, apparently.
  12. I have attached the menu from the Magic cruise two weeks ago. I was not thrilled with the Chef's Table, I hope you have a better experience. Obvious cutbacks in all areas. Some of the dishes were excellent mind you, but overall the CT is not what it used to be. Again, I hope you have a better experience!!!
  13. Aug 11 on Magic, I got a bottle of Merlot first night at Steakhouse free of charge.
  14. Just an observation, was on the Magic Aug 11-15. Premium Wi-Fi was horrendous and I am sure Carnival received many complaints.
  15. Hi all. New York State here and leaving on my fourth solo cruise Thursday. Always looking for cruises with other solos. I will gladly answer any questions.
  16. Since this has been somewhat revitalized (the thread), I have recommended to CCL that they add a place to input a pin when booking online. This way a call is not needed to create one. Seems simple enough to add.
  17. It had a note pad and a fairly nice pen.
