    Just did a b4b on Oasis and my only regret was I didn't do a b6b !!

So much to do, only 2 of the weeks repeated, headliners and comedians and tribute bands change up each week. Luckily I had the same cabin for the month.

Anything less than a b2b just doesn't seem worth the airfare to me. Free bag of laundry a week is definitely a plus.

It will be a repeat itinerary- but not a huge deal- we love CocoCay so get to do that twice- otherwise we often stay on board in ports and enjoy the ship with fewer on board.

For this trip, we are local, which is one of the reasons for the B2B- don't have to worry about airfare or hotels- just a ride to the port.
Is the free laundry due to your C&A level or does anyone doing a B2B get that?

  2. Considering a back to back on Oasis this summer.  First week with my 10 year old son and then second week the rest of my family, plus mother and mother in law will join us.  We have cruised multiple times, but never back to back.  The itinerary is the same both weeks.  Wondering what the pros and cons may be?  We would have different rooms each week-does that make a difference?  Would likely buy soda package and internet package.  Would love to hear from others who have done back to back trips.  One of my bigger concerns is laundry since RCL doesn't have self service laundry.

Thanks in advance for any advice, suggestions, etc!

  3. We used Rapid Test and Trace 2 weeks ago and were very happy with them.  Was able to reschedule to earlier times for some of us due to a schedule change for our day- but they only had a few earlier times, so my husband and I were going to keep our late appointments (10:45pm).  When the proctors came on (2 different appointments), they both accommodated us (one allowed 2 of us to test and the other allowed 3 of us to test).   It was very easy and we were happy with the proctors we had!

  4. Just cruised on Harmony last week- when we met our cabin attendant, I mentioned wanting paper Compasses if possible (since I had read on here that they weren't giving them regularly) and his response indicated that it was the norm and of course we would have them daily.  They were also at guest services daily as well.

  5. I know extension cords are not allowed.  Can anyone tell me if a USB tower falls in the category of extension cords?  Also, what about a plug (no cord) with 3 USB ports? Packing for a dual vacation (land and then cruise) with a variety of electronics to charge and don't want to have my luggage held if I can avoid it.

    Thanks!

  6. We are traveling on Harmony of the Seas next week and I was hoping someone can tell me if they will punch a hole in the sea pass card like we have had in the past?  Also, does the card have to be swiped or put into the slot on the door?  Or is it the type that you tap?  Trying to figure out the best way to carry it around since many of my outfits don't have pockets.  Was thinking a lanyard if they will put a hole in it.  Or if it is the tap type, then I can put it on a lanyard in a small change purse or clear covering, but I don't want to have to keep taking it out if has to be swiped throughout the day.

Thanks in advance for any help!

  7. We are likely going to use Rapid Test and Trace for our pre-cruise Covid testing.  We will be leaving home 5 days for our cruise for a pre-cruise vacation.  We are a family of 5.  Any suggestions about home many tests we should bring with us?  Also, are the virtual testing companies accepting expired tests?  I have a ton of tests, but some are expired-but they are in the smaller boxes so easier to transport!  Thanks in advance for any advice!

  8. I asked a similar question about Harmony of the Seas and in a regular room (not a suite) I was told that it is an all in one product (shampoo/conditioner/body wash) in a pump in the shower.  I am not sure how to insert my post here, but it was fairly recent. A few people were very helpful and posted photos/explanations.

  9. Does anyone know if there is shampoo, conditioner and body wash on the Harmony of the Seas?  Or is it a combined shampoo/conditioner?  Also, is there shelf in the shower if we were to bring our own to leave it there for the week?

Also, are cups provided in the bathrooms?  and tissues?

Thank you!  We haven't cruised since pre-covid and I know a lot of things have changed in terms of what is being provided in many travel locations.

  10. When we have cruised with our kids (and at Disney where you can purchase with  your room key) and now with their credit cards attached to our accounts, they were told that any purchase that was not pre approved would be paid back to us at 3x the cost (so if they made a $25 unapproved charge, they would have to pay $75).  I do have very responsible teens, so it works with them (though may have issues with my youngest - haven't tried this yet).  If they were going off without us with others, we would sometimes pre-approve items, like snacks, etc.  Otherwise, they would text us asking permission or on a cruise, come find us/leave a message in the room since most things on a cruise are included.

Personally I don’t see the big deal and the old cups seemed to be a wasted expense. We never even open them and just leave them in the room or throw away. They gave us large stainless cups a couple weeks ago with the packages but still easier just to get a can or glass of whatever you want then don’t have to deal with carrying a cup around. Same with a yeti, why carry one around all day? Get a drink then just get another drink when you want another one.

You need the cups if you want to use the Freestyle machine because the only way to activate the machine is to use the RFID chip in/on the bottom of the cup.  If you only want the types of sodas/drinks you can get at the bar, you wouldn't need the cup, but at least in my family, we get the soda package mainly due to the Freestyle machine to get the flavored waters and seltzers that you can't get from the bar.

  12. I was looking at possibly pre-purchasing one of the photo packages for our upcoming cruise, but see that it says that it is per room, rather than per family.  We are a family of 5 (2 adults with our 3 children) with 3 cabins on linked reservations.  The two adults are in separate rooms due to the cabin requirements and my 19 year old is in a connecting cabin with one of the adults.  Would we need 2 photo packages to get the photos of all of us?  Or would our linked  reservations allow us access to all of the photos regardless of which adult purchased the package?

Thanks for anything you can share!

  13. I am trying to figure out if The Key is worth it for our family on Harmony of the Seas in August.

I see that there is VIP seating for the shows- is that all shows?  And do we make reservations when on board?  Is it hard to get reservations?

Also I  see there is private time listed for the FlowRider- when are these times?  Are they terrible times, like during dinner or at 8am?  Or is it an hour sometime during the day?

Thanks for any input you can share!

Everyone is different but I don't watch pre downloaded content on a cruise. I watch it on the plane.  I need to watch videos on the plane to get through flights. Makes me forget I am on a plane. I don't watch  on the cruise itself. On lazy sea days I read. I bring a couple of paperbacks and I load up my tablet with books. I used to find books in the ship library but unfortunately ship libraries have been disappearing.

Don't plan to be continuously watching on the ship, but have kids who sometimes want to watch during their downtime.  I didn't realize we may not be able to stream from some of those sites, so I was trying to figure out how to plan ahead if necessary.

  15. This is all new to me!  So glad I read this!  Hopefully someone can help-we have Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, HBOMax and primeVideo. Does anyone know which ones we will be able to watch live vs. downloading?  I want to be sure to download enough to our devices before getting on the ship if necessary. Thanks!

  16. I have a plug from IKEA that holds 3 USB cords. Is this allowed on the cruise?  Honestly didn’t think about this before and am now realizing we may have to adjust our packing as I usually bring a surge protector with a few outlets (will be in a hotel prior to the cruise). Don’t want it to get removed. Will be looking into other options!
