  1. Four of us went to a quality land based steakhouse a week ago Saturday. The bill was nearly $650 and that was with only 2 cocktails totaling $26 on the bill. And there was not a gratuity included so for $100 for 2 people I would consider that not to be that bad. HAL has to factor in the percentage of mariners receiving discounts when pricing out their menu.
  2. It was posted in a casino related FB group 4 or 5 hours ago.
  3. I am not sure if this will help you but on our last cruise a lady who needed a scooter had a cabin right off the aft elevators. Her scooter was parked across from her cabin every night as there was plenty of room for it. She also had a special mattress that the stewards put in her room as she had a bad back and she needed that mattress to sleep on. I am not sure of your exact situation but if you are mobile enough to walk 10ft from the scooter to your cabin this may work for you.
  4. Will Europe's New Border Entry System Present Challenges for Travelers? (msn.com) Don't want anyone to have any issues with their travel plans!
  5. Congrats on receiving your first offer. I would highly recommend using a PCC for booking a casino offer. Your chance of an upgrade or a very good upsell offer increases dramatically. Obviously this depends on having a good PCC. My offer is for a free NS and I have no intention of upgrading to a PS as we love the aft wrap but we know several pax that receive great upsell offers on their casino bookings.
  6. The casino division must have at least 100 different HEP code combinations running at once. They send out different amount of free and discounted cabin offers along with a combination of free or discounted cabin that will include different amounts of casino cash included. Then then are offers that are for different amounts of casino cash only. And then all of the aforementioned offers that will include drinks while playing in the casino, free drinks everywhere or the HIA package. Plus every week players are given come back and sail offer codes. I do not believe it is realistic for HAL's backend personnel to be able to enter all of those various offers and tie them to the various mariner numbers they are offered to. HAL has enough trouble maintaining their basic website.
  7. I am an idiot. I received an offer yesterday and another one a few hours ago. I just returned from Vegas and am still exhausted. I am sure the same one you received. HEP2331CI_A_USD.pdf (hollandamerica.com)
  8. Everyone gets different offers at different times. Sometimes I will get 3 offers in a month and sometimes once a month. I received an offer Wednesday and then another one yesterday.
  9. I think the reason the code does not work in HAL's site is that it is a code generated by Carnival casino division and NOT HAL.
  10. Booking thru the PCC is the best way to go. The caveat is that the PCC listed on your offer is good. There have been some posts on here about PCC's that are not quite up to par. When you use your PCC it is much easier to get any issues that may arise resolved in a timely manner.
  11. So if you can get a suite with a balcony for about the same price per sq ft as an inside cabin why would you not get the suite?
  12. The answer to #1 is no and the answer to number 2 is the free play is loaded onto your room card for slots or given to you in free play chips if you are a table games player so it can only be used in the casino.
  13. The bar in the casino shows sports. I doubt that they will have the College World Series on but you can ask them.
  14. I've stood in line a few times waiting to cash in chips while a pax is filling out their info on the back of a $5 scratch off ticket winner.
  15. I have no clue who is picking up the fare for those who never step foot in the casino and I honestly don't care who picks up their fare. I just look at it as good for those who have good fortune. Doesn't affect my cruise one iota. Did they play bingo? Did they buy a scratch off card? Did they sign up to win a free cruise while on the ship? Who knows.
  16. This has been discussed ad nauseum. Carnival Casino Division pays HAL for the cabins. This is why it takes anywhere from 2 days and sometimes up to 2-1/2 weeks for a casino booking to be confirmed. HAL has to receive the remainder of the fare from the casino division. From what I can tell from my numerous casino bookings it does appear the casino division receives a 20 to 25 percent discount on the published website rates. I think this all has to do with creative accounting. Although the ships are flagged in another country the casino division is located in Miami which would subject them to US taxes.
  17. Panic Button?...LOL...We need the SWAT team to respond to the Neptune Lounge immediately. Mr. Jones from cabin number 7115 just stole 3/4's of a bottle of vodka.
  18. No argument from me there. But I can assure you there are those people!
  19. There are times when there is only one concierge in there and 4 pax waiting to see him/her. You could pretty much put a whole bottle in your purse and they would not notice. I actually believe it has more to do with the lack of a proper POS system in the Neptune Lounge.
  20. It's possible the Neptune Lounge doesn't have the POS system that the bars and restaurants have to properly enter and track the drinks! Or it's possible pax were pouring double and triple shots and putting themselves down for one drink.
  21. I am sorry you are having so many issues.
  22. I wish I could help you. She came thru for me again last week. I added my son onto my booking and his GF onto my wife's booking on a 9 day cruise. She was able to get them the HIA package for $574 total. $287 per person when it should have been $450 per person.
  23. I discussed the slip signing with several servers on the KSDM a few weeks ago. There are a few ships where the percentage of pax claiming they did not purchase drinks are higher than others. Those ships make you sign the slip. This occurs even if you have a beverage package.
