At passport bar a year or so ago and it was around 5 pm. Fellow passenger was drinking Long Island Ice tea and had been all day. Telling us how he liked them with the premium alcohol since he had the premium package. Finally the bar tender cut him off but guy didn’t argue. Was starting to get visibly drunk. He had been very chatty.

I bought CCL when it was low. Haven’t sailed on their ships in years. Just booked our first HAL for May 2025 but says OBC is for sailings prior to July 2024 if I remember correctly. Hoping this will get updated and can take advantage of the OBC. I also purchased RCCL shares and have gotten the OBC many times.

I am a newbie to HAL. I am a seasoned cruiser, mostly on Celebrity. Saw this $1 deposit and found a sailing that interested me so booked it for May 2025. I do hope to go. Don’t know much about HAL except what friends have told me about their past sailings - some years back.

unfortunately it did not apply to all sailings.

We were on the Apex TA in April 2023 in a SV. Asked for a lounger and was told not going to happen. The cabin next to us had one and was not a suite. However, on day 5 or so the weather was expected to start getting bad and brought the furniture inside our room. As stated above, the SV is like the IV with the veranda added to the outside - a great room. So the addition of the furniture inside was not a problem. Was nice to look out when we could not venture our for a few days. The lounger next door was tied down outside to the wall somehow. About the last 5 days the furniture was moved outside.

Celebrity Rotterdam Cruise Pier/Taxi Service
gfkcruiser replied to Sascol's topic in British Isles/Western Europe
we took the metro as the tram was not running yet on a Sunday. When boarding the train in Rotterdam and exiting, be aware there are steps and have to lift luggage up two steps onto Train. We are in 70's and did manage as my husband lifted our 25 inch cases. If you have an issue with that, you may want to make other arrangements. -
Boarding time question - European cruise
gfkcruiser replied to sheltielover1973's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Is your sailing open for checkin? If so, see what the latest checkin time is. -
If you have a one device plan, only need to get one upgrade. Unlike dining or shore excursion purchases, cruise planner does not tell you that you have already purchased this. Happened to me. Did not realize I had already purchased the upgrade so did it again. Looking at my purchase history, I saw this and cancelled one.

Have not seen any air promotion emails or notices? How did you find this?

As we have only been to Santorini in the off season on a cruise, there were only two ships. We were on a large one this past early May and during daytime hours. Lines to go up to Fira weren’t that long but as both ships were departing the same time, the line to go down to tender was a bit long. We waited to exit ship around 10:30 am. Walked along the caldera to the next town and then back. Meandered in town and had lunch. I don’t understand how the government allows so many ships at a time to visit Santorini as people have been reporting during the summer months.

On past sailings, specialty coffees were on the dessert menu in the MDR. Disappointing if they are listed but can’t get them as Elite +. A few years back a couple we were dining with were Elite + and she had confirmed that she could get her coffee at dinner in the MDR. Made of point of telling the waitstaff she. Ordering.

I get reminders from Celebrity starting a month before final payment is due. Continue to receive notices until due date.

The train from Rotterdam to schipol is a train with steps. Not a walk on tram. Had to lift our cases up.

How to make an IV feel like a regular balcony
gfkcruiser replied to Cruise till you drop's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We did Sunset Veranda on the Apex TA in April. As was stated, it was the same length as as an IV and the true balcony was added onto that. This was great as we had a lot of bad weather and they moved the chairs and table inside. Same furniture as IV. Was now laid out just like the IV. Did not take up any of the actual used floor space in the room. One aspect of the veranda I found interesting was the function of the sliding veranda door. The door only locks/unlocks from the inside and a warning on the inside says AC is not operational when door is unlocked. This is not unusual for this but no way to lock the door from the outside and you better hope your roommate doesn’t lock you out. I mentioned this to the room attendant and she said she always checks that no one is outside before locking the door. We will be on the Beyond in an IV as no SV available and will decide if we will do it again or cancel upcoming sailings in IV.
