Still showing Butler on U.K. site.
What is the best email to use please?

Just found out that the phone calls are not from Exec office but from the Engagement centre and they had the nerve to send an email
Customer Satisfaction Survey with the said phone call!!
It just shows how little they care.
Haven’t received the email regarding changes mentioned previously though

Beginning August 14th Celebrity Cruises will transition from a dedicated butler concept to a Retreat Butler and Team approach. This is for all Sky Suites categories, including the Aqua Sky Suites and the Horizon Suites. This will allow for a more efficient approach, providing the same products and personalized services.
Retreat Butler ownership of:
In-Suite Dining: with Dedicated Retreat Room Service Attendants
Mini Bar: with Private Bar Team
Reservations/bookings/special events: with Retreat Butler / Retreat Concierge/Manager
Suite orientation/ice/laundry/packing & unpacking: with The Retreat Host
Where is this posted please?

A taxi back to the ship about 1 hour is likely to cost about the same as overnight hotel

What type of cabin are you booked in? Was the reassurance based on that, or was she saying the rumors of changes are untrue?
I'm booked in a Sky suite, hence my reason for sending an email.

Yes we have paid for shuttles into town on 2 or 3 cruise lines

I got my phone call last evening in response to the email to Executive Office and was assured that after 23 years cruising with Celebrity nothing will change in regard to my on board experience. All my needs whatever they may be (they are little) will be met and I was given an email to contact should my Edge 40 night cruise not live up to expectations.. There was no swaying the lady from her views but she was interested in what I said (or appeared to be)

I wrote an email to Executive Office but as yet not received a reply, maybe because I’m UK. My Celebrity rep is on holiday so cannot persue that avenue for a response.

You will probably get more information on the Ports of call section

To be honest it’s a while ago and I seem to remember French Guyana and somewhere we had to confirm we had had yellow fever shots. Basically the cruise was Caribbean islands. Sorry can’t remember anymore but we did stay at the Sheraton just off Copacabana beach and a nearby favella.
Our tour guide did get tickets for Carnival as they are difficult to get hold off.

I have done Carnival in Rio but pre cruise for 3 days with Princess. The event is a parade of Samba schools and doesn't start until after 9 pm going on till 3/4 am, usually 5/6 schools a night and each one is timed losing points if they over run . If memory is correct it's 90 minutes per school.
I found a local guide on Tripadvisor for the 3 days , he took us to Carnival and picked us up at 2 am back to hotel. The seating area is like a soccer stadium with concrete seating in tiers, take something comfortable to sit on as it is uncomfortable-- we didn't!! . Hope that helps

I've been pn 5 ships including Meraviglia and never seen an art auction, thankfully

Don't know that this perk exists anymore , have done 7 YC cruises since 2019 and no mention of this.

Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) my husband was going to take a photo of the old US Embassy and a Vietnamese soldier threatened him with a rifle.
It is a city you can do “on your Own” where Celebrity drops you at a central point for drop off and pick up 4/5 hours later
-
It may be the change happens fleetwide on August 15th, no one has any certainty at the moment

Hi been to Asia many times friends used to live in Hong Kong but now in Singapore, both cities are OK to explore on your own. Celebrity did run an excursion to go into Bangkok”On your Own” which was a good way to see the city. Bangkok is about 90 minutes to 2=hours from Laem Chabang port.
Happy to give advice but I think you will get many replies

Hi Chemmo , Thank you for the post above and the one on page 11 you have hit the nail on the head so to speak. You posted recently that you have, like me, had a change in your circumstances this year which if like me it has hit you very hard.
Steven & I booked B2B2B on Edge 2 years ago to travel to Australia with very dear Australian friends I am still doing the trip with them as it's what he wanted me to do but I can see it being my last Celebrity cruise. All the changes in the 2 years devalue what we were expecting and further changes are I'm afraid inevitable.

Not having a butler is that important? You still get all of the other benefits of suites. Something many people only dream of.
What is your problem, we choose how we spend our money and what we expect, if you don't like it leave this thread!!

And what is wrong if they merge? Same ships, itineraries etc.
I do not cruise Royal Caribbean by choice and I did this after seeing someone in a baseball cap and t shirt allowed in MDR on a transatlantic 11 years ago. It is a matter of choice and being able to spend my funds on things that give me value. I do not and never have treated any crew member as a servant, we have cruised with Celebrity since 2001 in all class of cabins

MSC Virtuosa how late can one disembark?

No they will want to get the ship ready for the next cruise, you will probably have to be off by 9.30 at the vary latest.. People will be arriving to board the next cruise so it will be very busy from around 10 am.
