There was NO Waygu beef at the Dream Staekhouse 2 weeks ago. Hubby says the line is worth it for the BBQ.

Guys Pig & Anchor on Deck 5 outside is only open on sea days.
The Guys Burger Place is open every day from about noon to 6pm.

You can use a credit card and they do charge you up front when you pull in so let them know you are doing a back to back cruise.

In New Orleans the terminal employees who check you in work for a company called: Concord Shore Services. They are NOT Carnival employees.

Just did a b2b in early May from New Orleans.
The shows were: Wonderful World & The Big Easy on the 4 & 5 day in the Rome lounge, & A Kiss Goodnight with the Triumph Burlesque Dancers in the Rio on the 5 day.
Also had New Wave Magic in the Rome on 5 day.

Just did a b2b on the Triumph. It was easy. Kept the same cabin, did not have to pack anything and walked through customs, security and back onboard in 15 minutes.

Website says it takes 7-10 days for them to mail it to you. Am I correct that your 24 hours doesn't start until the first time you use it? I'd like to go ahead and get them ahead of time.
Really don't bother to buy in advance. They are readily available on every streetcar & bus from the driver. The driver will stamp at your 1st use.

You are on the lido deck. Go through the doors just outside your cabin and you will see the pool. Walk past the pool into the buffet area (Marketplace).

It's still New Orleans and there is still only 1 way in and out of the port. No way of telling exactly what time the traffic will back up, but unfortunately it will back up at some point. The good news is the back ups never last more than 20 minutes. Staggered check in has not really helped the situation.

If your cabin getting serviced only once a day is your deciding factor on taking a Carnival cruise, please don't cruise Carnival. I do not want to be your neighbor. Its no big freaking deal. We were offered the choice of evening, morning or 2xday on recent Triumph cruise and chose morning only. It was fine. The cabin stayed clean, we got our towel animal and our ice bucket was always full. And we tipped our steward an additional $30 (for the 9 days). And our steward Nolito was wonderful and surprised us with a $25 wine coupon.

I am very grateful for your review and pictures. I'm glad your family had a good time. But this does not look like something I would be interested in and was considering booking it. You may have saved me from being a miserable cruiser!
If you dont want to cruise after reading this review, you have made a good choice. You should never cruise. This was a great review and thanks for posting. I guess some "readers" just should not cruise ever.

What is the benefit to linking the bookings?
You can all dine together at the same table.

Good. Hoping we get to see the end of Jurassic World. We saw the 1st part on the Dream last year & got rained out off of the Lido deck. Been waiting to see the end ever since.

I'd call Carnival & get an answer directly from them. Good luck.

I have carried on batteries, juice, atomizers, chargers..... Everything we need with absolutely no problem. Last year on the Breeze, the year before on the Reflection, the year before on the Dream, the year before...... No problem at all in the carry on and I don't believe that you would have an issue on the checked luggage, either. Have fun and vape on.:D Congratulations on not smoking anymore to your husband. His heart and lungs are much happier and healthier.
I know this is a cruise forum, but NO, his lungs and health are still being compromised by vaping.

I am so enjoying your review. The Dream & Elation are both fine ships and the staff on the Elation is the best. Y'all should join us on Halloween on the Dream this Oct 30th. Cant wait to read about the rest of your adventure.

Dont forget that August is right in the middle of hurricane season so your cruise could be re-routed to avoid storms.
-
Possibly due to the high level of the Mississippi River.

The cabins on the dream don't have fridges (I don't believe any ships have them), but they do have minibars that you can ask the stewards to empty out so that you can use it as a fridge.
The Dream does have mini refrigerators that are used as minibars. And yes you can ask for it to be emptied.

Its not a surprise. This has been discussed for a few months. I'm just sad there's no more shrimp salad, but its not really a big deal.

I hear ya! Last year on the Triumph, I had decided about a week before the cruise to grow a beard. So, I had about a weeks worth of growth very neatly trimmed, with neck and upper cheeks freshly shaved. I was well dressed and well groomed for dining, but amazingly, the waiter stroked my face with the back of his hand and lectured me about "needing to shave" before going out to dine.
I was so aghast at this I was speechless. I am a quiet person and never want to make a scene, nor did I want to ruin the evening for my wife, so I said nothing. He was way, way out of line. He had no right to touch my face, nor to lecture me.
Most waiters do an amazing job and put up with rude unreasonable people daily, so while these isolated incidents do happen, in general the waiters are awesome.
That's hardly an ASSAULT. He may have been out of line, but that's not an assault.

Incorrect.
Carnival allows smoking in all cabins and on all balconies with the exception of the Cloud 9 Spa cabins on the ships that have them.
It's only allowed on one side of the pool (Lido) deck, starboard.
NO smoking in any cabins or balconies on Carnival. Dont know where you are coming up with your own rules.

Nice review. I'm glad I'm not the only one who prefers Progresso to Cozumel. I only wonder how long it will stay "real" Mexico with all the cruise ship tourists.

It worked fine. Easy to use and took only 2 days to get my obc approved for an upcoming cruise.
