  1. The trip to Skagway seemed to be a smoother trip, maybe the ship didn't have to move as fast to make the port. My only excursion was canceled and I couldn't find anything else I wanted to do. DH already had another helicopter glacier walk scheduled after our morning excursion. So, I did a spa day and had a fabulous massage. The rest of the group had other excursions planned or just walked around the town. Everyone really enjoyed themselves. Wednesday was Glacier Bay and the day dawned clear, sunny, and warm. It was a beautiful day to view the Glaciers. As we got to the start of the park where the snow-covered mountains are all around, our nephew proposed to his girlfriend. DH had his big camera out and nephew ran down to the room real quick to grab the ring. DH was able to get some great shots of the proposal with those mountains in the background. Nephew and girlfriend were up early and snagged the two person seat aft on Deck 15. Small area with a lounger on either side. Perfect place to spend a day watching the glaciers. New fiancee even spotted a goat. They saw a whale on the way in, there was an eagle sitting on an ice melt, and otters. Lots and lots of cute little otters. Especially around Margerie. At Lamplugh there were seals and we didn't get as close as they sometimes do. There were seals pupping near the glacier. As always, the day didn't disappoint. Sad to see how far Margerie has retreated, however...
  2. This is what I usually do and I completely forgot, pretty mad at myself. So, I did a short recap and that didn't take either. That one post was the only one I could get to save. After that, I could barely get CC to open. I stopped trying in an effort to keep my sanity.
  3. Shake, rattle, and roll!! Oh my, that first night was a bit tough. Who ever said 'Magic Fingers' was not kidding. We were at the back of the ship on Deck 8, last cabin before the aft cabins, port side. The same grinding and shuddering from sail-away was pretty much there the entire cruise. After a bit I did become used to it. We were at Bingo one afternoon in Club Fusion. The entire area just seem to vibrate and shake. DH thought that much stress on the ship couldn't be good for it. Although we were passed by all the other ships that left after us, we did pick up speed the following day. Enough so that we arrived in Juneau an hour+ earlier than expected. That was great because it gave everyone time to get off the ship and even do a quick wander of the area before excursions. Ours was a private tour with Harv n Marv and they did a great job with communication and trying to do their best getting us on the water. The tour was probably cut a little short but this trip was so worth it. Orcas had been spotted in the area so our Captain quickly drove to that area. We saw killer whales!! This was my third trip and the first time I ever have seen Orcas. Even the crew was excited. We think there were three in the group but they had spread out a bit. Saw the seals on the light beacon before making our way over to the humpbacks. Saw several of those as well. We had a great time on the tour and our Captain and Naturalist were wonderful. I have a couple of videos and hopefully they post. My pics and videos aren't as good as others in our group. Not used to the iPhone plus the water was a little rough trying to stand straight. Got a lot of pics of the water or my feet. This was a pic from another in our group. I think it's cover worthy! The first video is one of the male orcas and the second is a humpback. Just in awe seeing these beautiful whales. Orca.mp4 Humpback.mp4
  4. We arrived at the terminal a little before 1030. Porter was right there to take our bags so an easy walk to the door. Check-in was very quick especially with the Medallion. I had taken screenshots of our lab results and ArriveCan receipt, which they accepted. We were at the desk less than 5 minutes and seated in Group 1 for boarding. I think we were on board a little after 1100. Rooms were ready as well. Our nephew and now fiancee's room had a backed up toilet with the sewage smell. Plumber arrived quick to fix. But, that didn't stop the smell. Cabin steward told them to go downstairs and request to be moved over one room. Guest Services refused and sent the plumbers back to the room. Still didn't resolve the odor problem and steward sent them back downstairs to request a move. Guest Services still refused so cabin steward went down and got them moved. I thought that was really nice. Sail-away seemed kind of slow with lots of grinding and shuddering. Or, maybe I'm just comparing Crown to Oasis class ship with azipods. Other than the issue with GS and the room change, all the Staff and Crew were top-notch. I think there were new servers (drinks) in Horizon Court. But, they were very nice and eager to help.
  5. Well, I didn't have much luck with internet or attempting to post to CC. Things with push like email and FB mostly worked alright. But, trying other sites most would never load. My iPad has done that at home, not posting a reply. Let's see if I can remember anything.
  6. We are clocking close to 20 knots this morning. I’m just hoping we get in a little early to Juneau so we can get off the ship and have time to do excursions. There are 1720 passengers on board this sailing according to the Captain. So, a little over half full. Watching some beautiful snow top mountains out the balcony 😀
  7. Sometimes I don’t understand my iPad or CC one. Just typed a sort of long post, hit submit, poof gone. This one it saved 😒 I give up. Will drag out my laptop later.
  8. Pretty sure my husband saw Pickleball in the Patter for yesterday. If it actually happened, I’m not sure.
  9. Onboard and ready to set sail shortly. 😁
  10. Icy Strait has been removed from sailings through the 18th. Not exactly sure what is going to change to allow the port to be added back to the itinerary.
  11. Awww, enjoy the suite!! I hope we have great weather so you can enjoy dinner, drinks, or just watching the scenery from a beautiful aft view. If we had the full itinerary I would have seriously considered the upsell offer. But then again, it may not have been available. This was the first time we have ever had the offer. We are in one of the few covered mini-suites plus one with the extended balcony. So like you, we are hoping for nice weather.
  12. Not really going to be a Live thread. Just to continue the conversations and reviews during the week of the cruise. I think there are several of us on this cruise this week, so hopefully we can get different perspectives. Safe travels to everyone and hope we great weather for the cruise!!
  13. The only thing they seemingly can do consistently...
  14. I'm not trying to rub it in, honestly. I think what has happened to the last two sailings is grossly unfair. Like you, we are also not getting any FCC as did the earlier sailings. The entire handling of this issue has been inconsistent and sporadic.
  15. I thought excursions closed 3 days before, but yesterday our showed the Closed message and still there today.
  16. Finally got an email at 2330 last night from Princess about the additional OBC. I'm just going to post the Important Notices section, which was the point of the email. NOTE, the time into Juneau did not change again, this is for the adjustment to 1730 that was done a couple of weeks back. CROWN PRINCESS UPDATE We are reaching out regarding recently communicated itinerary changes on your voyage. We regret that it is necessary to shorten your time in Juneau, Alaska, which has affected many scheduled shore excursions. As a gesture of concern for your experience and gratitude for your understanding, each guest will receive $100 USD as a non-refundable onboard credit applied to your shipboard account. The onboard credit may be used toward all purchases in the bars, boutiques and photo gallery, as well as specialty dining, spa treatments and shore excursions. This OBC will be in addition to any previously provided credits, promotions, or amenities on your booking.
  17. Oh good, glad to hear that. Just love the time at Marjerie Glacier
  18. That really upsets me, one of the biggest draws of the cruise and that time is shortened as well. Glad you made your flight and I hope you and your wife are feeling better soon.
  19. After the first few sailings when it was clear Crown could not make the schedule, Princess published the altered itinerary to an arrival time of 1730 in Juneau and completely removed Icy Strait Point. These were for the May 28th, June 4th, June 11th, and June 18th sailings. I don't know that they have the parts necessary to make the repairs. One of the threads I read said they were having difficulties due to supply chain issues. @OKCruiseMan was just off the 28th sailing and indicated the engines stopped (not intentionally) while in Glacier Bay. I'm not exactly sure what is supposed to happen at this point to correct the problem and have Crown sail better. Piertotum Locomotor? (If you are a Harry Potter fan)
  20. Thanks for the update. Is anyone here on the June 4th sailing? How is the trip going so far?
  21. This is turning into 'Who's on first'. So, 7th, 14th, 21st possibly got various OBC and FCC, right? Then Princess 'published' the revised sailings for the 28th, 4th, 11th, and 18th and no mention of additional compensation. 28th and now 4th have sailed and no additional OBC that anyone has mentioned. We are on the 11th and I just noticed the additional Goodwill credit today and still now email notification. Maybe someone on the 18th can chime in if they have received the extra OBC. So, consistently inconsistent? Not sure how many more ways Princess can screw the pooch on the handling of this. Maybe you can hope for a check in the mail?
  22. That I don't know. But, I sent a question to the Contact Us link at the bottom of this page and they were very responsive. Received an answer in a couple of hours on a Sunday (today). I was not expecting to hear anything until at least Monday. https://portvalet.maketraveleasier.com/
  23. That is probably true. I'm thinking we are going to have to decide in advance what nights for Specialty Dining and make a mad dash for reservations. A la Oasis class on RCL.
