  1. There is apparently a 150 square kilometre pumice raft heading from Tonga to the Great Barrier Reef. Interesting. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-08-23/giant-pumice-raft-makes-its-way-to-great-barrier-reef/11444020?sf217996960=1&fbclid=IwAR1IBLlRhSJktAnkYu4Y8jsJa76FXDw-vJWpZDPTXjR4qQ6VkEhU1m8Vs2w
  2. A woman in England was killed when she tripped and the stainless steel straw penetrated her eye socket and reached the brain! The coroner said "metal straws should be used with caution."
  3. If I read it right: 1. waterslides 2. move the gym 3. lazertag 4. more cabins. I'll be on the Singapore Sydney relocation cruise in November so I'll see...
  4. Or that you are sailing too close behind another ship!
  5. We could have, before they put in the tunnel!
  6. (Checks what time it is on his TAG Heuer) Mrs cme2c will be most upset that the shops are gone. As for mr 28degrees and myself... Happy days!
  7. We booked a Voyager Of The Seas cruise onboard Explorer Of The Seas in January. The deposit was non refundable, but transferable to another cruise within the first month. They also offered price match guarantee if the same cruise was available cheaper later. I don't think you can get fairer than that.
  8. Yeah, Nah. I was there in January. It was a Sunday so the centre of town was closed! Had a nice lunch at Baie Des Citrons. Never asked for passport or travel insurance documentation.
  9. We are going on the Voyager of the Seas repositioning cruise in November Singapore-Darwin-Cairns-Airlie Beach-Brisbane-Sydney. Never been to Singapore before so we are having a week there, then floating back. I presume that we will have to fill out arriving passenger cards in Darwin, but will we have to do it again in Sydney? Will duty free etc be available between Australian ports?
  10. Just a short note to thank MicCanberra and gbenjo for there advise on boarding at the OPT for this cruise. As you advised we turned up at 3.30 and walked straight on. Very efficient. That’s the way the whole cruise has gone, super efficient. Well done RCI!
  11. I'm going on my first RCI cruise on Explorer ots on Thursday. balcony, not a suite and no Crown and Anchor. The cruise booklet said boarding any time 11.30 to 5:45. Got an email the other day now 2.00 to 4 45. Could this be related to the routine on Ovation?
  12. Depends. To the best of my knowledge , there are ATMs in Noumea, Port Vila, Suva and Port Denerau. On the other hand, if you are going to a smaller island first, getting money before you sail may be a really good idea, and probably cheaper. Vatu used to be hard to get but I see my favourite currency exchange has them now. In Noumea some shop owners seem to take delight in not accepting AUD, and you have to be able to get essentials while ashore, don't you?
