  1. How totally terrible for the family as well as the medical staff! Our prayers are with all involved.😒
  2. A couple of years ago, my wife and I had enough of what Jack Del Rio was doing to NCL, a line that we really enjoyed over the years prior to his choice as the NCL CEO! We were looking for a a cruise line that was something different. Our Booking agent told us about the MSC line, and thought we would love cruising in the Yacht Club aboard their brand new ship, the Seaside! She said she would get our loyalty info from NCL and submit it for review by MSC for similar status with them. MSC matched us with their Black level for our first cruise with them in April of 2019! I now have 25 days booked in the YC for winter of 2020 between the Divina and the Seaside. MSC's business plan sure seems to be working for my wife and I! I can't think of a reason to go anywhere else.πŸ˜‰
  3. Thanks for the info. My wife and I will be aboard the Divina for eleven nights, followed by four nights in Downtown Miami, then fourteen nights on the Seaside. I'm guessing at least 6 to 8 formal nights, over those two cruises. So dry cleaning will be on our menu during our free time between cruises, at least for the formal wear. We'll have to see if the hotel has a laundry capability for every day clothing, which I'm pretty sure they have. πŸ˜‰ Again, thanks for the info. 17 weeks, 6 days and 19 hours left until be board the MSC Divina😁
  4. Thanks for that reassurance Chris, makes us feel better!πŸ˜‰
  5. I'm curious as to where the Seaside docked during your port call? I've been spoiled by docking directly downtown so many times, but am wondering if because of the size of the Seaside, it might be docked at the south end of town.πŸ˜‰
  6. Awesome photos of an awesome ship! Thanks for sharingπŸ˜‰
  7. My wife and I will be cruising for 11 nights in the YC aboard the MSC Divina in February of 2020. We have both been billed for MSC's "Pre-Paid Gratuities in the amount of $12.50 each, Per Day. We follow that cruise with 14 days aboard the Seaside for which we have been billed the same daily amount. The total is $625.00 in gratuities pre-paid. I have always believed in tipping based on service, and still believe that way. However, when gratuities are imposed on all guests, as part of the cruise fare to be paid in full on certain date prior to boarding. This is a corporate decision, that makes the art of tipping no longer to be expected by crew members. I would prefer to decide the issue of tipping myself and keep it personal between myself and members of the staff, but it seems that mandatory gratuities are now the rage for most Cruise Liines!πŸ˜‰
  8. As for the Bucher's Cut versus Cagney's, I have to put Cagney's well above my experience in the Burcher's Cut aboard MSC. I've ruled out the steakhouse on my upcoming cruises aboard the Divina and Seaside for that reason. I'll not starve aboard MSC's YC dining rooms.πŸ˜‰
  9. I absolutely agree. I bailed out on Frank Del Rio's NCL, nickel and diming passengers like me with antics such as my last cruise aboard the Gem! We booked two suites, including the Owner's Suite, and were given a $25.00 Onboard credit for our patronage!😠 That was the end of our NCL experience. Booked the Seaside, and it was so different from the mass market experience aboard NCL that I have 25 days coming up in late winter split between the Yacht Club aboard the MSC Divina, followed by the YC aboard the Seaside!😎
  10. After I gave up on NCL, I had 20+ years worth of status with HAL and Princess, so I decided to take a look at MSC, and see if my status with the other lines could benefit me with them. So I gathered my status from those lines, sent it to my Agent who then forwarded it to MSC and sure enough, my first MSC cruise aboard the Seaside I gained Black Card status. I have 25 cruising days coming up in February and March of 2020, 14 on the Seaside and 11 aboard the Divina, and both my wife's and my status remain Black, and we get the discount. You gotta love MSC😊

  12. My wife Waz and I attended the M&G aboard the Seaside last April, and we were quite impressed with the turnout, and the hospitality of the Officers and Crew. It set the tone for the rest of the cruise, and helped us make up out minds on booking the Seaside and Divina for 25 days this upcoming February and March! We can't wait to experience MSC again.😎
  13. Hello Mate, I would contact Cunard directly and request your sailing history record be mailed to you. They would have a record of your sailings which they would have used to award you Platinum status. You would then either forward the Cunard document to your travel agent, or MSC directly, requesting a Status Match for your upcoming cruise.πŸ˜‰ Thom
