Is flying into Fort Lauderdale available because you can see the port from the airport is so close. -
Pick up Medallion in port, or mailed ahead?
cruzsnooze replied to Joy12345's topic in Princess Cruises
Half true information. I don't use the APP and have cruised 3 times in the past 6 month. I pick up the medallion at the pier and it's always ready and was pre-done waiting for us. I don't use any packages and refuse to pay the $10 for them to mail it. If it doesn't come in the mail because of getting lost they obviously don't have one waiting for you at the pier because they didn't know you didn't receive yours. -
There is a picture on the Princess web page if you look. Go the ships, Royal, Deck Plans, and put in your deck and when you see the cabin in orange click on it.I had that Cabin and hated it. I asked to be transferred out even if to a mini suite as long as I kept my reserve class dining. It has a sloped ceiling, no closet space and the sitting area is so small you can't open the balcony door to go out without shuffling the chairs .

Pre Cruise Accommodation LA
cruzsnooze replied to CruiseKiwiNZ's topic in Royal Caribbean International
My preference is the Doubletree in San Pedro and they have a free shuttle to the pier which is less then 5 minutes away. If you have a rental car remember we drive on the right side of the road. With LA traffic the way it is driving could be difficult with only a day to practice. Uber to universal is not all that close to San Pedro so maybe staying at LAX hotels would be more convenient, since that would be much closer, and less expensive. Los Angeles does not have a good public transportation system. LAX is actually a good location for sightseeing. Beverly Hills, Belair, Getty Museum, Venice, Santa Monica, Knots Berry Farm (my favorite) and Marina Del Rey are better to get to from Lax VS San Pedro. -
OBC is sometimes non refundable which means it stays on the ship even if you don't use it/ Check your OBC when you board and see if it is refundable. If it is refundable you will get a check in the mail a few weeks post cruise and can pay your credit card off. If it is non refundable spend it onboard rather then loose it.

Is Elite/Platinum Lounge open on embarkation day?
cruzsnooze replied to canadarocks's topic in Princess Cruises
What elite/Platinum lounge are you referring too? Do you mean the 4pm captains circle get together with some appetizers? -
Why does my cruise suddenly say it is sold out?!
cruzsnooze replied to Kruzin Karen's topic in Princess Cruises
Maye sold out means sold out. -
I hope it's per voyage and not per port.

Yes it's dangerous and I will complain bitterly until it's removed from the hallway. How dare anyone put the lives of their fellow passengers in danger. Would you also stop having muster drills? ADA cabins have something mini suites don't have, walk in shower. People who can't use a tub for various physical reasons also have a need for these cabins.

I'm booked on a ten night Mexican cruise with 5 Mexican ports. IF and I don't know for a fact I was to be charged for 5 x $42 times 2 of us that would be $420, not inconsequential. I personally would cancel not because I can't afford it but because I can't support these vengeful and retaliatory fees and tariffs.

AND there is no casino or duty free shopping because you are essentially in the US all the time. There had been 3 ships doing Hawaii but it's down to 1 now because it's not profitable to be flagged in the USA.

It's impossible to change many itineraries and avoid ports like Ensenada on west coast cruises. The Alaska senator wants to not use a Canadian port so Alaska cruises would be hard pressed to find a foreign port to meet the PVSA rules.
-
The article I posted stated it will be initiated July 1 2025 so it's not been implemented yet.

New Cruise Ship Fees in Mexico Mexico, a popular destination for cruising, is about to get a bit more expensive. Beginning on July 1, 2025, a new fee will go into affect costing travelers an extra $42 per person if they're taking a cruise to Mexico. Cruise lines and others in the industry are fighting the rule and hoping to reverse it, but, as of now, it's set to go into effect.

First time on Princess, Island Princess We have questions
cruzsnooze replied to seeing the sights's topic in Princess Cruises
I forgot ask the OP what date is your FT. Lauderdale to Los Angeles? I'll be doing that Panama Canal crossing in Dec 2025 on the Holiday sailing. -
First time on Princess, Island Princess We have questions
cruzsnooze replied to seeing the sights's topic in Princess Cruises
From a food prospective I much prefer Princess. For more lively entertainment and things to do I prefer RCL. I never carry my phone. There is a written "patter" available which I fold up and carry in my pocket. You cannot be a Jones act violation since you are NOT cargo. The passenger vessel service act applies to passenger ships. I have seen cartons of individual milk in the buffet at breakfast time only. Unlike RCL the coffee/tea stations are open 24/7. The Princess buffet serves snacks at 3 PM like scones and clotted cream and finger sandwiches also available in the dinning room. -
How to Pack Prescription Drugs

Never had a problem and I use the seven day pill holder. -
Diamond question. What is Chef's choice gift?
cruzsnooze replied to barric's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I bring the bottle home to use in my crock pot when I make short ribs. It is good to tenderize any meat you put in a crock pot. I'm sure it would also be good for cooking purposes. -
I see lots of Hawaiian shirts on formal nights in reserve class since that's where we are. People are not dressing up as much as they used to. Most people want to pack in one suitcase if they are flying. Clean is the only criteria I have observed.

Scooter in Icon Balcony rooms
cruzsnooze replied to RoperDK's topic in Royal Caribbean International
What do you mean to just walk on your bad foot? Are you suggesting leaving the scooter in the corridor which is not allowed? -
No. When my cruises were cancelled due to covid I had paid with multiple gift cards from AARP. I asked to have the credit put on one new card and they accommodated. I combined about a dozen cards which made it easier to use when I booked my next cruises.
