Is anyone else having trouble loading “Radar’s” live thread?

When I hit on it, it continuously blanks out and tries to load over and over and then screen goes. “Unable to load, try again “.

    Ty

It does that on my iPad, but on the PC it loads properly.  (Only on Radio's thread)

We are currently at a hotel in Covington GA tonight. The hurricane went through our neighborhood in South Carolina early Friday morning. One of the weather sites listed the wind speed at 82 mph at 5:37 am. That’s about the time a very large tree fell and missed our neighbors bedroom by about 10 feet. Our short street had 5 trees across the road. Luckily several of our neighbors had chain saws and got them taken care of. Lots of other trees down but only minor damage to one porch. They estimate no power for about a week.

We decided to find a hotel for a few days. On I-20 between Augusta and here the traffic was slow but moving. We tried to get gas but all of the stations were out. Hopefully, by the time we leave they get more.

All in all, we are thankful none of us had more damage. We have great neighbors, we all got together last night for dinner. One neighbor has a gas range and we all brought stuff from our refrigerator- it will mostly need to be trashed after a week. It was a strange menu, but good to get together.

We have read about the devastation in North Carolina. I hope they can recover quickly.

Sorry to hear you are impacted by the hurricane, and glad you were able to get to a hotel.  I hope power is restored to your home soon.  The news from the Asheville NC area is frightening.

The rabbits were at a fiber fest and their owners spun their fur do there is that.  The chicken was also at the fiber fest but I have no explanation for that.  Lol

It was an emotional support chicken!  Speaking of which, after you posted the ESC you knitted, I started working on a crocheted version to give to our granddaughter. She named it Skittles.

  4. @Sea Dog I thought of you when I read about this estate sale in Virginia Beach. They are selling a collection of thousands of vintage Christmas ornaments.

Im not sure if this link to a newspaper article will work for you but I’ll try.

And so we begin the long trek home.  We spent two nights in Waikiki, visiting Pearl Harbor while we were there. It was incredibly moving.  Although not unexpected, we were still taken aback by just how crowded and commercial Waikiki is.  One high end store or mall after another.  But we had a nice ocean front room at the Outrigger Reef with a balcony that felt like a cruise ship balcony 🙂.
We then flew to Kauai which is everything I imagined Hawaii to be;  lush, green, laid back unspoiled and just gorgeous.  Our resort, Koloa Landing in Poipu, could not have been better.  We took a sunset catamaran cruise Tuesday along the NaPali coast.  All I can say is wow, wow, wow. Pictures don’t do it justice.  Waimea Canyon was also spectacular. This trip truly lived up to our expectations and I wouldn’t change a thing.

Thanks for sharing pictures of your stay in Hawaii. They brought back wonderful memories. I'm so jealous!  You had a long trip home... did you fly in two or three segments?  We recently took a 5 hour non-stop flight and I thought it would never end.  🙂

  6. We keep bird feeders filled with sunflower seed. Invariably some seed drops to the ground and sprouts, and we get a few sunflower plants. Earlier this summer, some sort of critter apparently tried to climb one of these sunflowers, bending and snapping it such that it laid on the deck. I thought it would die. Instead, that thing grew and grew and grew like the Incredible Hulk. The initial stalk is the diameter of a baseball bat, and there are easily 100 flowers and buds on it. It has taken over the deck. Mother Nature is amazing. Here’s a picture of that one plant.

I did.  I bought 3 skeins.  2 for a sweater and 1 for my other hobby of collecting yarn. Lol

When we were in Halifax today there was a statue of a woman knitting.

So of course I found the local yarn store and bought 2 skeins for a wrap that I have already started.

It looks like someone has added some embellishments to the statue.  🙂

    @Husky1987  That’s really nice fence!

The very long fence between my dads and his neighbour’s property was taken down recently. He is not looking forward to the cost of a new one (obviously the cost to him will be 50%)

I hope that’s not the fence with the night blooming cereus growing on it.

    Ironing.

    Yup.

    Once a week at least.

    -Shirts

-Pants ( long dress and shorts)

Someone,  not mentioning any names (Rick) has  to have his cargo pants and shorts pressed, all those goofy pockets do not dry right.

    -Table clothes.
    -Seasonal curtains

    -seasonal bed linen

    Never ending.

My mom laid the guilt on me.
    and

no I DO NOT iron pillow cases.

    Be safe.

I found this picture of me the other day. I think this might be the last time I ironed.

  10. I just did that this morning, as we are headed to Las Vegas in a couple of weeks.  It will get us free parking and a discount on some shows.  It also waives the hotel resort fee but we’re not staying at a MGM property.  Call MGM Rewards with your Rewards number and C&A number and they will do the status match.

    https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/resources/pdf/mgm-partnership-benefits-page-2024.pdf

    https://www.mgmresorts.com/en/mgm-rewards/tiers.html

It took all of ten minutes to do. You have to renew it every year unless you accumulate enough MGM points for it to carry over to the next year.

Today is my husband Brian's 50th birthday… He is the happiest, most encouraging, positive person. The very best person I know. I'm so thankful that he is here and that we get to share life together.

Camp NanaPapa is wrapping up today.  Yesterday was a visit to a very hands on marine biology center nearby.  The sun came out briefly in the afternoon for one final pool session, then we made tacos for dinner and went out for ice cream.

We’re currently in our way to PA bringing the boys home.  We’ll spend the night and tomorrow Andy and I will drive directly to Albany NY to help pack up his Mom’s apartment.  She’s finally agreed she needs assisted living and will move there Thursday.

Hawaii in 18 days and it can’t come soon enough!

I'm tired just thinking of all that you are doing.  Hawaii sounds wonderfully relaxing!

Double sided tape works really well with the clawing.  Except with my Annabel who gets one of the other cats to get tangled in it so she has a straight shot at the door jambs.  Not interested in furniture just the door jambs.  We have most of them protected with plastic corners now.  LOL

    Annabel is a smart kitty!

  14. I'm loving the cuddly kitty pictures.  @helen haywood @StanleyandGus.  I had to dig up one of Miss Priss and Marcel.  Our house is so different now without them.

As far as furniture clawing goes, I invested in double-sided tape and put it where they liked to scratch.  Once they learned not to claw, I took it off.  But when we bought new furniture, I had to start over again with the tape deterrent.
