  1. Well, just to be clear; none of the four (NCL Jewel, Gem, Jade, Pearl) has a mens community whirlpool. The Pearl once did, but it was removed. That having been said, the elaborate facilities on these ships remain the best of their kind. NCL's regrettable practice of charging $20 - $30 a day for thermal passes discourages many passengers from ever using them.
  2. You are correct, sadly, the Pearl's community whirlpool is gone, but the other amenities remain.
  3. "Extended family just booked a sailing on the Crown Princess and have convinced me to join them. Anyone have insight into the current spa situation on that ship? Thanks." A good choice! The Crown has the same popular, free male steam, sauna, showers and changing area as the Star, Sapphire, Emerald, Ruby and Caribbean. It is located in the spa and fitness area near the adult pool.
  4. Yes, the Crown has the same excellent arrangement as the Star, Sapphire, Emerald, Caribbean, and Ruby ships. The entry area contains lockers, benches, and access to toilets. Through a doorway, you will find three full-size showers with glass doors, a shaving sink, water fountain, sauna and steam. The area can be easily accessed from the adult pool or the gym.
  5. Can anyone advise re: Coral Princess? It has an unusual deck plan. Many thanks.
  6. Re: Grand Princess While technically, the Grand Princess ship has separate, free mens / womens steam and suanas. The location of these (entry is from the outside, no adjacent changing areas) makes them wholly impractical. Princess's Star, Sapphire, Emerald, Ruby, Crown, and Caribbean are all much better choices.
  7. Thanks, twodjs! Very helpful! (FWIW, the Infinity rework may not occur until November of 2020).
  8. Does anyone have recent experience with the Celebrity Equinox, Infinity, or Summit? Thanks in advance for any current info you can share!
  9. Many thanks. This is very helpful. Overall, is the arrangement on the Grand better or worse than the familiar Star, Sapphire, Emerald, Crown, Ruby, and Caribbean layout?
