IMO Jan/Feb is too early for the Eastern itinerary (too cold).
For the Southern itineraries, the best ship in Feb 2020 will be the Mein Schiff 2.
The 14-day itinerary is fantastic. The prices at the moment are unbelievable - from $1600 pp. Included:
All tips on board
Softdrinks, beer, sparkling wine and a selection of wine, cocktails, longdrinks and spirits
Specialty coffees and teas
This is a German ship (the crew speak perfect English).
Unfortunately departure from La Romana.

The second best option is more affordable (but offers less value) : 10 days on the Koningsdam.
Departure from Florida.
For the Southern itineraries, the best ship in Feb 2020 will be the Koningsdam.
10 days from $940:
10 Days Caribbean-Southern
Holland America Line • Koningsdam
Fort Lauderdale, Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk, Amber Cove, Bonaire, Willemstad/Curacao, Oranjestad, Fort Lauderdale
2 departure dates: Feb 2, 23 2020
Happy cruising!
Thank You 🙂

If you are planning to do any Carnival ship out of FLL or MIA for Jan or Feb you need to decide fast. Most of the ships nearly full. We are looking at that same timeframe and the itineraries for Southern Carib don't have any balcony rooms left, which is mandatory for us as DH is scuba diving at ports and needs a place to dry his gear.
We are looking at the Conquest out of FLL for western carib, and Legend out of TPA for same, since all the southerns are full.
Magic is a great ship, and does the Eastern Carib... check to see if those itineraries have the room you want still available.
We couldn't believe how almost everything is sold out..We were looking to go out of Miami or Ft Lauderdale, Tampa the ships aren't too large, but not much Itinerary for that time of the year to go to the Southern Carb..

I did an Eastern Caribbean cruise on Horizon this past February and loved the ship. I would not hesitate doing that same ship and itinerary again
Now, to be fair, I haven't been on a Carnival ship that I didn't enjoy.
Awesome to hear as the Horizon was one of the ships we were interested in 🙂

Asking which is the best ship is like asking what the best kind of pizza is. Everyone is going to have their opinions on which ships they like. The best bet is for you to say what you are looking for in a ship, big/small, itinerary, restaurants, bars, etc.
Personally, I love the Glory and the Conquest is great for Eastern side. I prefer bigger ships over smaller ones. I sail on Horizon in a week to the Southern portion, which I haven't done yet, so I can comment more on that after I get back.
We were looking at the Horizon..we Prefer the Larger Ships as well..I Cant wait to hear your review

Piano Bar Bob???? anyone know who he is and if he is any good?? he will be on the liberty when we sail :)
-
Swimmom2,
I hope you make it over to this thread to see this. The schedule has changed and Ron will not be on the Liberty in Oct/Nov now, he is heading to the Magic instead. Your piano man will be "Piano Bar Bob" Berhalter.
But that being said, yes Ron is the best out there in my opinion!
Happy sailing,
Laura
I did make it over here thank you...Oh no now im bummed :(

I just did a side-by-side comparison of deck plans & 2337 is right under Golden dining room. I've heard its quiet there since its all carpeted.
I so hope so :) cause I just called them again and well nothing is available at my rate we booked a long time ago under past guest and well got a great deal and right now its 75.00 more for 1st and 2nd than what we paid....
-
Well it seems we might be screwed..almost everything is sold out for the room we need and Im not going to the deck below the one im on.....I guess we will have to deal with the Noise and not be happy campers.....
-
we are in 2337 on the Liberty for November from what I can tell it appears to be a good location?...hummm What are your thoughts???

How is Brent on the Destiny? He'll be my next CD. :)
We are leaving on the Destiny on the 18th (8 days) this is our 1st real Carnival Cruise and our 2nd real cruise I call it..lol We went on the Victory when we lived in NYC 9 years ago but it was a cruise to nowhere and the time of our lives...
We too will have Brent and well we like CD that are out and about in the crowd..We went on the NCL Sky and had the BEST CD he was so funny, always with the crowd so Im disappointed to hear that this guy isnt too into the crowd...We will See...
