  1. Yes, John announced it on his morning coffee live video the day before it was released.
  2. I am confused, if you booked the cruise only 11 days ahead and booked for second Pfizer shot but hadn’t received it yet it’s not 14 days. Sorry about messed up plans though, hope you are able to do something else fun instead.
  3. Well the dust settled a little and today I was able to snag an extended balcony so am very happy to be on this cruise. Alaska will have to wait another year.
  4. Part of the current menu are probably due to problems with the supply chain also in addition to just the bacon. I still found something to eat both times I’ve cruised since the restart.
  5. I tried, used a TA for the first time and best I could get was an obstructed view right behind lifeboat. I would have to cancel my 14 day Alaska cruise that overlaps these dates. Have an aft balcony there at good deal cheaper rate so I will hope that Carnival will offer this itinerary again once they see how fast it sold out.
  6. This was posted elsewhere, I am pretty excited about this cruise. 7. We’re you vaccinated before starting chemo? I wonder if this would make any difference with your doctor. Would sure be nice to be able to get away for a week but at this point fighting the cancer needs to take priority so you can have many cruises still in the future. No matter what, praying for the best outcome possible for you.
  8. The TV’s are definitely LG, it comes up whenever we turn the TV on. They are mounted in fixed location on the wall about 45” screens is our guesstimate.
  9. On board with Chris Williams, The Flying Scotsman and he has been a treat. If you ever cruise with him do NOT miss his show. Who knew that this man with a heavy Scottish accent could nail the wide spectrum of musical styles. He is a better singer than any of the production show staff.
  10. Yes rode Bolt and maximum weight is 300#.. They make you step on scale prior to ride. It is a pass or fail, no weight is shown. Height limit is between 4’4”-6’5”. No age restrictions. No loose articles of clothing, glasses or jewelry. No cameras although I did hear that someone used a gopro. They have cubby boxes to place your items while riding. Looked at the ap and didn’t see any restrictions for Sky Course and haven’t up there yet. As to the shows they have a couple big shows, haven’t seen them yet but they have multiple venues with large capacity and have music live somewhere almost all the time. Punchliner theater and Limelight lounge both being used for comedy. Both have real nice seating capacity.
  11. We are also somewhere in the middle. Always book a balcony and a spa balcony on the Dream class and Mardi Gras. The room is important to me as I do use it regularly. Booked our first suite on the Celebration TA which was biggest splurge so far. Once on the ship will eat in steakhouse usually once, maybe twice. Drink a lot of specialty coffee but alcohol is minimal, maybe 10-15 drinks. Don’t visit the casino or spend much on souvenirs. In my early cruising years I was super frugal, not nearly as much anymore. Excursions I usually book with local tour companies depending on length and distance from ship.
  12. Currently on the Mardi Gras, today was our first port stop and unvaccinated were not allowed off the ship. Masks required on all transportation and indoor spaces and highly recommended outdoors but not mandatory with social distancing. I and many fellow cruisers stayed on board but it had nothing to do with mask policy but guessing we have at least 75% diamond and platinum cruisers. Most of us have been to Puerto Rico multiple times and all of us are on this ship for the first time and we’re still exploring and enjoying the ship. I don’t plan to get off the ship at all on this first leg, will visit when we are on the western leg next week.
  13. I forget the exact numbers but Christine Duffy said we had over 4000 guests and 1300 crew on board for our first sailing. The crew is working so hard to try to make it as smooth as possible. Yes the dining times seems to be the number one complaint I’m hearing onboard. That….and getting lost. This is my first inaugural sailing and from reports in the past I expected a lot more glitches. Some areas are working through the organization better than others. I am so happy to be on the ship and there is so much to enjoy besides the food. I would absolutely do it again. What the crew are lacking in service skills at this point is balanced out for me by their efforts and their joy to have the opportunity to be here too.
  14. So far only for kids that I’ve seen. Some families have 1, some have 2 children and rest of party is vaccinated.
  15. We cruise in 1 week, 7/31 and people are just now posting in the last 2 days whether they received exemptions or not.
  16. Short time here….7 more days and we’ll be on the Mardi Gras at this time.
  17. I’ll be on the cruise with him, beyond excited to see the inside of the ship in person, she’s sure a beauty outside.
  18. I’m sailing Panorama 10/2/21 with my sister, really looking forward to cruising the west coast again, it’s been almost 20 years since last time down the Mexican Riviera. Fun video, shared it with my sister.
  19. The bookings have been closed for awhile. I don’t believe I’ve ever heard any specific numbers before the sail dates. I’d just expect we’ll be sailing somewhere between 60-70% full capacity.
  20. By my calculation you have been given the 2 day early check in. Regular check in is currently 14 days pre-cruise, you got 16. Note, they open check in at 12:00 Miami time. We just had early check in for our 7/31 Mardi Gras at midnight last night and it worked well, a lot of people checking in at the time and we had a few computer crashes but overall was easy.
  21. The only guaranteed workaround I see would be to get one more vaccine of either one before your next cruise, is that an option there?
  22. This is real good info for checking in. I want it to go as smooth as possible. Just over 4 hours I get to check in for my first cruise and don’t want to screw it up. I’m driving home but my roommate is flying. Should she just put in driving to prevent problems?
  23. My last cruise was September 2019, had my cancellations all started up in April 2020. Since then I have retired, pretty much stayed at home, got Moderna vaccine as soon as they were available to me. I have been gardening, cooking, and planning and looking forward to cruising again. I had lots of time on my hands and rebooked all canceled cruises and added a few more on top of that and booked more than I should have. Now that my first cruise back is only 3 weeks, a mere 21 days away I am starting to panic. I’ve gotten rusty at cruise planning. The luggage has been long emptied out and we’re starting from scratch again. I’ve been watching live videos from both the Breeze and Horizon. Learning the new protocols to help make return as smooth as possible. I have not gone on a cruise yet that I didn’t forget something. Once I packed no bras and went the week with just the one I was wearing to board. Another time was the phone/camera charger. What will I forget this time, it’s a BTB with different roommate for each leg. I have been caught up in the excitement and have ordered door banner and t-shirts. Travel is easy, will just drive down in the morning. Yes, I am currently suffering from cruise OCD.
  24. I have more cruises booked now than ever in the past, it is so addicting! Retirement helps immensely. 82 days booked between 7/31/21 and 9/10/23.
  25. The only free one we were able to book was for Chibang on the Mardi Gras. We were able to book two nights for each of our Mardi Gras cruises through the Sailabration. Unfortunately they filled up quickly and by late evening available times were scarce. They are no longer on site to book for the Mardi Gras. Who knows, they may have held back and will open again in the future.
