I've been to both and done drastically different things. Everything in Montego Bay seemed to be an hour or more drive away, unless you wanted a beach. Things seem a lot closer to Ocho Rios. Do not underestimate how motion sick you will be on the back country/interior Jamaician roads.

I'm not sure of any specific restrictions but for your safety and the safety of our oceans/reefs/world, I suggest reef safe suncreens. Remeber that the chemical sunscreens aren't considered safe by the FDA anymore due to more research. Focus on sunscreens with zinc or titianium dioxide.

How safe is it to walk around the port area in Oho Rios? Specifically the first few blocks from the terminal towards Progressive Foods?

Havana Balcony vs Cloud 9 Spa Balcony on the Horizon
chicchic325 replied to CarnivalNico's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I've never been in a Spa cabin, but...hubby and I loved the Havana area on Vista so much so that we booked it on the Horizon for a B2B. We won't sail on one of the major ships not in the Havana or some area like it. It was our haven, respite from the screaming running children and too many people. We only adventured out for food and shows/games. As others have suggested, you can buy the spa pass and book a Havana. We personally just book insides because the Havana deck is almost NEVER crowded. The pool never had more than 10 people in it, though more could fit. -
Christine Duffy's Carnival update 9/28

wait...booking venues? Does this mean that we won't be able to just show up anymore? -
Beyond.

They actually offer a beyond burger on some ships for an upcharge on bunch days.

We picked the ABC. 😁 Thanks for all the help!

But they don't, not really. I traveled last fall as a vegan, due to an intolerance, and I was served spaghetti 4 or 5 times on my 7 day cruise. Having a plant based option adds a healthy option to dinner and lunch. While a 2018 poll found that there were only 3% of people who were vegan, plant based cooking has increased. There are numerous reasons someone may not want to eat meat. They would open their doors to more people if they offered a single vegan option instead of a single vegetarian option. Nearly 1 in 4 Americans have cut back on their meat consumption. Whi

I would love to see them add a vegan option to their main dining room. It would add the most bang to their buck for flexitarians and people with allergies. It would behoove Carnival to look at ways to improve their services to lure people people back to cruising.

We're trying to decide on a B2B option in September/October 2022 on the Horizon (in a Havana of course) for our 10th anniversary. The first leg would be : Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. I've done all of them, but hubby has never been to Ocho Rios. The second leg is where we get more exiciting and some choices must be made. S1: ABC- Aruba, Bonaire, Curaco S2: Aruba Bonaire, La Romana, Amber Cove S3: Aruba, Curaco, La Romana, Amber Cove So it boils down to all three ABCs or only 2 plus 2 ports in the DR. We've never done any of t

Europe 2022 - a very good possibility
chicchic325 replied to trvlgirlmq's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I'm really hoping for this. We are looking at a 2022 cruise and want to sail in Europe. -
Thanks y'all. I'm hoping to check out their European cruises in 2022. But you made me go look and I did find a few interesting ones for the Caribbean.

TL;DR: when does carnival usually release their schedules? I know things are in flux and there is not probably a good go by date. BUT...I'm trying to look at 2022 cruises to plan and dream, and Carnival hasn't released those yet. I know they released summer 2021 in November 2019. Should I be looking to wait until November 2020 to look for 2022?

Just wondering if anyone has any updated 2 years later?
