  1. We picked this one because it was over my husbands birthday and our 30th wedding anniversary. Luckily we are doing the British Isles in May. Really wanted to be on a ship for our celebrations but looks like that won't happen.
  2. Just received the following email: Dear Guest, We're continuously working to enhance our ships and the many amenities they have to offer. Mariner of the Seas is currently undergoing dry dock for routine maintenance and exciting, which will require some extra time for these upgrades to be completed. Regrettably, this means our April 1st, 2023 cruise has been cancelled. We know this news is disappointing and apologize for the impact to your cruise. Your vacation is important to us, along with the flexibility to make the best decision for you and those in your party. Below, we've outlined guest options along with a few additional details. Option 1: Re-book any Royal Caribbean International sailing and receive a Future Cruise Credit. If they prefer to re-book another sailing, we'll waive any non-refundable deposit change fees. Please know, they'll be responsible for any difference in pricing for their cruise fare, taxes, fees, gratuities, and other non-cruise fare items. If their booking was already paid in full and their cruise fare rate decreases, we'll provide them with a refund for the difference. They can expect to receive their refund to their original form of payment within 14 business days after we move them. Kindly note, refund times may vary depending on their financial institution. They'll also be reimbursed for non-refundable, pre-purchased transportation change fees incurred (such as a flight, train ticket, or rental car). We'll cover up to $200 USD per guest for Domestic changes, or up to $400 USD per guest for International changes. Please email their receipts and booking information to RoyalGuestRelations@rccl.com for review and reimbursement. If they have any travel expenses beyond these amounts, please send us the receipts including a brief summary of these expenses for review. To sweeten the offer, they'll receive a Future Cruise Credit to book a new cruise and sail by April 1st, 2024. This amount is 50% of their original cruise fare paid based. Their certificate can be used on any Royal Caribbean International sailing that departs on or before April 1, 2024. We will automatically issue their Future Cruise Credit via email within 2 weeks from selecting this option. Please note: If they previously used a Future Cruise Credit (FCC), we'll have it reapplied to their new sailing. Option 2: If they can't find a new itinerary that works for them and choose to cancel, we'll be sad to see you go. They'll receive: A full refund of any paid portion of their cruise fare (including non-refundable deposits) and any pre-paid amenities to the original form of payment within 14 business days. Kindly note, refund times may vary depending on their financial institution. If they used a Future Cruise Credit on this sailing and they request a refund instead, we'll refund any NEW funds paid above the certificate amount and we'll reinstate their original certificate. They'll also be reimbursed for non-refundable, pre-purchased transportation change fees incurred (such as a flight, train ticket, or rental car). We'll cover up to $200 USD per guest for Domestic changes, or up to $400 USD per guest for International changes. 3. Thanks to all. I always over plan. This will be our first inside cabin in at least 15 years. Very port intensive cruise around Ireland, so we thought we would try it.
  4. Thanks. I was only going to use it for my USB fan that I use at night.
  5. Is the parking at Terminal 5 at Port Canaveral still "pay when leaving"? When we sailed last summer on Mariner it was and it took a long time to get out of the terminal. Much prefer the pay upon entry like they have at terminal 1.
  6. Are there usb ports by the bed on Norwegian Star? On one video I saw it said they did, but others didn't mention it. We are in a sideways inside cabin if that matters. Thanks
  7. DH will not be happy getting more water instead of beer. We are owed two crystal blocks, but if they look like that, they can keep them.
  8. Thanks for the replies. He will look into all of the sites recommended.
  9. We are going on a cruise around Ireland in May. My husband would really love to play golf in one of the ports. We are in Dublin for 2 days, so he figures that would be the best port for it. Does anyone have any recommendations for courses in the area that might offer packages for tourist that include clubs? Thanks.
  10. We just did a 4 night on Serenade and they did have a 70's night that a few dressed up for.
  11. I am fairly new to NCL and I have a question about the port times on our NCL Star cruise in May. We are doing the British Isles cruise. When I look at excursions on the app, it has the following statement: Due to security reasons all guests must be on board 2 hours before sailing. Disembarkation usually begins 2 hours after docking. Are they talking about the initial embarkation at the start of the cruise and disembarkation at the end of the cruise or about each port? We are wanting to book private tours and it says we will be there 7am to 7pm. Not sure if those hours are when we can plan on going ashore or if we need to deduct 2 hours from each time. I know that with the other cruise lines I sail all aboard is 30 minutes before sail time in ports of call. Thanks for any insight!
  12. We have only been on two previous NCL cruises, so have no loyalty perks. We will need to wash jeans on our cruise in Ireland on Star. Would jeans fit in the bag or would it be better to send them out separately?
  13. We had issues with noise in a cabin at the first couple of cabins on the hump on Brillance. The noise seemed to funnel up there. The rest of the hump had no issues. We were on deck 8 or 9. We could hear some music, but mostly the CD (Carly) yelling into the mic to get the crowd engaged. After that we just decided to stay up and enjoy the party until things quieted down.
  14. Lunch is usually only served in MDR on days at sea.
  15. I am not a fan of Indian food, though DH is. I usually would get the salmon off of the classic menu several nights. Since the restart I have been very disappointed in MDR choices. I think the goal is to push passengers toward specialty dining.
  16. We had started eating mainly in WJ for dinner prior to the shutdown. Since the restart I have have found the options more limited. DH is fine with it because he loves Indian food. Last 3 cruises we have been back in the MDR. Will be on Serenade in January and are planning to try WJ again.
  17. We just booked a 10 night with NCL from Southampton that does Waterford, Dingle, Galway, Killybegs, Belfast, Dublin and Cork. This is our first time to Ireland and we are thinking this will give us a great overview of the area.
  18. Thanks for the info. Glad to hear you enjoyed Melbourne. It is a great place to live being so close to PC as well as other ports in Florida.
  19. What is the difference in the configuration for 3 and 4 person cabins? 1 vs 2 pullmans? How far does the pullman bed stick out from the wall in the inside and oceanview cabins? Hard to judge from the pictures. Thanks
  20. Enchantment has always been one of our favorites. We have sailed her about 15 times but mostly 5 night or less cruises. Love her pool deck and Boleros. We have sailed all classes except Quantum, and have likes and dislikes about all. My favorite ship is whichever one I am on at the time!
  21. Mariner is one of my favorite ships. Especially when Marc Walker is cruise director!
  22. We were on Allure in late August. 6:30 MTD. We had a short wait the first night, but none after. Waiters were great. Always asked if we needed to get out early for shows.
  23. Thanks for the info. I will not be surprised if I don't get to see my game. Will probably just follow along on my phone or tablet like I have done before.
