JB, an interesting fact just published:- The south coast city of Portsmouth, birthplace of Charles Dickens and home of the Royal Navy, has claimed the top spot on a list showing the number of pubs. It’s got a whopping 12 pubs per square mile – almost double that of London. In second place was Liverpool with 11 pubs per square mile and then Bristol with 10. Cheers...CV...

Just off the Regal Princess in Southampton. At check in, there was neither a ‘blue’ line nor a ‘green’ line just a line for ‘Platinum, Elite and Suites’ and one for ‘All Other’. Medallions were handed out at the checkin desk. Fast and efficient. Easy peasy. Cheers…

No matter in which category you are sailing, if convenient, consider taking the ferry to Red Hook. The ferry dock is a stone’s throw from the terminal. Cheers…

Just off the Regal around the U.K. The dress ‘code’ on some evenings, including the Captain’s Cocktail Party for Suites, Elites etc., was ‘Dress to Impress”. In the Dining Room, the maître d’ told us that trying to stop people entering the dining room improperly attired was ‘fraught with danger’ and Princess would not precipitate a confrontation. With the no charge bus routes around Heathrow Airport a thing of the past, the options for hotel to airport travel have diminished. Suggest trying the “ We Know Group” (www.weknowlondon.com) who operate a taxi or shared ride program. £7 per person shared or £34 per vehicle private. We used a credit card and booked online at a terminal in the hotel. Cancel more than two hours prior to pick up for a complete refund. Got a confirmation e-mail which stated that another e-mail would be sent 30 minutes prior to pick up time. Another e-mail was sent when the driver was nearing the hotel including Uber-type information (Driver’s name, photo, make of vehicle, registration plate number etc.) A third e-mail was received when the vehicle actually arrived. It was £14 for two shared. The Hoppa woulda been £12. Very good service and worth a look. Cheers…

Took a taxi from the Royal Leonardo to Berth 46 a fortnight ago. Too lazy to walk with two suitcases. Taxi fare was £10. Cheers…

Just off a cruise yesterday at Southampton and used Aquacars. £140 from the Port to a Heathrow hotel. No problems with the service. One suggestion…agree on a meeting spot. Could be at the Terminal exit door. Although the driver should have your name showing on a card, may be parked in Lane 3, the pre-arranged lane, or in the Car Park. Cheers!

Boarded the Regal Princess in Southampton August 24. No Green Lane; No Blue Lane. There were two lines…one for Platinum, Elite and Suites; one for the remaining passengers. Medallions given to Blue people on check in. Easy peasy! The proverbial piece of baklava. Cheers!

Does Norwegian have some specialty restaurants outside on the open deck?

Currently on Regal Princess. Disabled the motion censor. Can still switch on the light with the switch by the cabin door. Light still on a timer so it goes off after a short while. Hey! The best of both worlds. Cheers…
